The Viking is one of two motels that are nicer than the rest of the motels on Cherokee Lane. The other one is the Budget Inn. Both will provide a fridge and microwave if you ask, they are both quiet and clean, with friendly staff. The Viking room was adequate but minimal--no hair dryer, no iron, no chair. The overhead light was on a timer which turned it off after 5 minutes, requiring that you get up and turn it on repeatedly. The Budget Inn is the nicer of the two motels. Both of these businesses keep beautiful lawns with flowering plants and nicely trimmed gardens, valiantly setting an example which the rest of the neighborhood seems to lack the courage to follow.

Yikes! Had this not been an emergency, with zero vacancy anywhere else....Checked in at 1am, so a bonus star for the manager not being grumpy. Even though it was obvious that he had just stumbled out of bed. Though he certainly wasn't extending any pleasantries. We were given room 21. The "handicap" room. The only thing handicap about this room, is the sign on the door. I can sit on the bed and rest my head on the dresser. The place is kind of (totally is) a dump. The room is 500 degrees and I can feel every spring in the mattress. No sign of bedbugs or lice type critters. Oddly there are only 21 rooms, yet parking for at least 75 cars. This is not a place I would recommend to anybody that I like. Note: $60 for Saturday night, Labor Day weekend.

A decent motel Ran by some really great people. I stayed here recently for the night and left a uniform and some other clothes there (I was in a rush) and was worried about it all day. The owner texted me and told me he had them set aside for me. So awesome of them. Will definitely stay here again especially for the price.

Great value for the price. Nothing fancy, just a clean, comfortable room with a working, quiet air conditioner, a working tv and wireless.
