The rose garden was pretty. I enjoyed the park on a beautiful day with happy people. What could go wrong?

I was looking to take a walk, and this is perfect! It's by the Haggin Museum, has a rose garden, has a playground, has a lake, and there are lots of people walking around or laying down or watching their kids' sports practices.

The only Stockton park worth going to in my opinion. It is located in an older area of Central Stockton and surrounded by beautiful homes. I grew up playing, swimming and having birthday parties here. The park itself is really pretty and I love coming here and just walking when I don't feel like being stuck inside the gym. Aside from having a play area and pool, they have a beautiful rose garden, basketball court, baseball diamond, tennis court and they are home to the Haggin Museum. This is great spot for a BBQ, birthday party, family outing or just to hang out and enjoy the scenery.

Quick note: not a local...on a short trip to Stockton while I finish my clinical rotations. After a long day I needed to find a place where I could walk off all the stress from the day and clear my head. I found this through Yelp and the reviews held up. The park felt safe with many families around, kids biking, teens playing basket ball. There were people from all different age groups and many were with their dogs too!! Features I liked- free parking around the park - beautiful like pond with fountain and ducks (see picture) - paved paths for walking/running/biking or for strollers.-playground for kids.Highly recommend!

This is such a cute park! Large with lots of space to run the dogs or kids. There's a playground for the children as well as a baseball field and basketball court. There are a lot of picnic tables as well. Perfect for family reunions or birthday parties. It's so charming with all the tree's, ducks and lake-with Haggin museum nestled in the middle. What I love most is the mile long trail that circles the park. It gets busy in the morning with runners and speed walkers. With the exception of dodging doggie doo here and there (this could be alleviated if there were stands with baggies for owners to pick up their mess) this park is near perfect. There is an automated bathroom thats very clean for my 8 am walks as well as a fire station. All of this is centered in the cutest most quaint neighborhood. I'm so happy I found this little treasure.

This park I love a lot. I come here when I want to get some fresh air and just walk around Victory park. The park has a swimming pool, museum, playground, tennis courts and baseball diamonds. This park is always jammed packed with people. All kinds of stuff happens here soccer games and good little league baseball games. They have two small little ponds and their beautiful. I really do like coming here with my kids and just feeding the ducks. It's just a wonderful feeling, I get here. I just sit back and sit on bench and take it all in. ..Vincent D *VD* Life is Beautiful

When I was a kid you could rocket to the moon here.No lie...When I was younger they used to have a metal rocket ship on the playground that had a slide on one side and if you kept climbing up you could sit in the top of the rocket...maybe 20 feet off the ground. For a little kid it was amazing.Victory Park is a jewel in the City of Stockton. With two ponds, the Haggin Museum, and a beautiful rose garden. For the longest time there used to be an American Indian totem pole named "Tagcook" on the Northeast corner that stood for 60 years until it had to be taken down because of wood rot. At one time I used to swim here at Victory Park...there was a swimming pool on the South side of the park...does anyone know if it is still there? I have also been to many a free summer concert in this park...nothing better than good, free music. This is a spectacular park that I would feel safe having my kids someday play in and around...hopefully they will be able to rocket to the moon as well. :0)

Large, beautiful park but..... like everything else in Stockton, the dirty ass tweakers have ruined a good thing. The bathroom is DISGUSTING. Dark, filthy, no doors on stalls, no toilet paper (nowhere to even put toilet paper), garbage filling the sink, and toilets full of urine and other stuff. My daughter and niece (both 4 years old) absolutely refused to use that restroom even though they were both about to pee their damn pants, so we ended up having to temporarily leave the birthday party we were attending at this park in order to go find a decent bathroom elsewhere in town. I have seen some nasty bathrooms before but NEVER this bad!! Also we found a meth pipe underneath one of the tables. If you go to this park be prepared to not be able to use the restroom, and PLEASE check the ground for pipes and needles if you are bringing kids or dogs!!

Victory park was at one point, like so many things in Stockton, amazing. Now the ennui that has befallen has taken much of the sparkle out of this beautiful place. Still, it has a wonderful walkway around the outside that is good to walk/run. The play area is ok. The grass is well kept for playing soccer or other games. The old street lamps are still working and look really cool!Stockton music in the park is here. The event is one of the highlights of the year for me. I love the variety. The local bands are really fun. We always take a picnic and have dinner here every Wednesday in the summer. I hope that my kids will keep the wonderful memories for the rest of their lives! Many people are concerned about safety while attending the event. I have been a regular here for about 10 years, and have never felt that I was unsafe.

My family lived on Tuxedo Avenue in the mid 60's. I attended kindergarten at Madison Elementary, and my teacher's name was Mrs. Maynard. In first grade, my brother and I would walk over to Madison Elementary, stopping in at the Country Club Market to buy candy and bubble gum, and then get on a bus in front of Madison, which would take us across town to King school. (Martin Luther King, Jr Elementary). My brother and I would chomp/eat all our candy and gum on the bus before we got to school. LOLThe principal at King school used to stuff a guitar in the back of his pants! He also had a fictitious mouse that "lived" inside his guitar. Students could write letters to the mouse. That was a fun school an I remember it well.I was in first grade when my family moved from Stockton to Layton, Utah, but I remember Victory Park very well! Our church held MANY picnics there. Norman D. Shumway, who later became a congressman was our bishop at the time. I remember crawling through large sandboxes (or was it sawdust?) looking for pennies at many of those picnics. The park had a large pond, and I can remember watching and feeding the ducks. There was also a large totem pole near the entrance to the park. I understand it has been removed, and then a while ago, someone placed a replica, which had since been removed/taken to a secure area "for safety reasons". Interesting.I remember the large, public swimming pool. The playground was a lot of fun. The rocket slide and swings were my favorite. It's a shame the rocket is no longer there.Speaking of Stockton, there used to be an amusement park my family would go to. I believe it was called Oak Park. That is where I had my very first merry-go-round ride. I remember Oak Park had a miniature train, gas-powered bumper cars with yellow and red striped inner tube bumpers on them. They had a decent selection of other rides as well. But you know, I cannot find anything about that amusement park! Oak Park is still there, from what I understand, but whatever happened to the amusement park? It seems to have vanished. Does anyone have any information about it?I've not been back to Stockton since we moved to Utah in 1971. I'm sure it's changed A LOT since then! i'd love to go back and take a drive thru the old neighborhood, to see what all I can remember.
