University Park World Peace Rose Garden

This is the kind of place that makes you want to gatekeep, but my love of Yelp compels me to share. This small rose garden is like an oasis in the badlands of Stockton. It has rows of gorgeous roses and they are all labeled so you know exactly what you're looking at. There are clean benches to relax on and although the area near the roses is grassy and can get muddy, the center is cemented so you can still appreciate the beauty of the flowers without taking a chance on your shoes. The area is small but there is parking close by and the smell is amazing. There is a water feature nearby with ducks and statues and a small walking path with a bridge. It is a beautiful, peaceful place to spend some time in quiet contemplation. If you love roses, this is a must see!

University park world peace Rose Garden.Located in Stockton, CA.Here's my story: I came here the other day after many Moons. I was listening to a song "La Vie En Rose" A beautiful cover, sung by Daniela Andrade. I remembered this beautiful place, that I totally forgotten.. The jam was sent to me by the amazing woman in my life. I was thinking of what she said to me. "You're a flower Vincent in a vase of stems" But honestly, you're the most Beautiful flower of them all. Girl, you keep reminding me of the Man, I truly am. I appreciate you for that...To be honest, I don't know how long this garden has been here. I came across this majestic place a few years back. My only Son at the time was attending (2014-2018) "HCA" Health Career Academy High School. When I would pick him up or drop him off. I would always see this place (It's like a block away). Then one day, I arrived a little early (To pick up my Son) and decided to take a stroll. Por favor believe it, yer Boi VD fell in love at first sight. I wasn't checking in at the time or taking pictures. This place became one of my secret spots. When I wanted to get away from reality. This place was a safe haven for me. Fast forward to October 2020, Like I mentioned above. I totally did forget about this place. Note: I was dealing with Depression big-time. I lost my Father in August 2018 and my life was falling apart. I was looking for Solace so freaking HARD. What gave me peace, even if was for a second was looking at the beautiful flowers. Current:The flowers are beautiful, you can walk a short trail and check out the ponds they have. There's a pretty cool little bridge you can take everything in. There's some history about this area. This was the area that was once the Mental institution of Stockton, CA. I'm familiar with this place. My mind has never has been right from the get go. But the love in my heart makes me the Man I am today. So as of late, I come here not with sadness but with happiness. My happiness comes from within. I just walk around snapping pics of the beautiful flowers and loving Life.What can I say, I'm just a guy who loves flowers. So do you and who cares what anyone thinks. Yer bo VDi surely doesn't. This garden is super cool to me and it's perfect for a date, Swoon. Bring your S/O and hold thier hands and walk around and take everything in. Visiting from out of state touring different rose gardens and this was the best! Fredrico and Fidel keep the rose bushes woody and dense and canopy of roses that flush at top and both fragrant and radiant. Energy in area was helped by thoughtful poems about peace from elementary school students across the world.

The University World Peace Rose Garden is a beautiful jewel in The Historic Magnolia District. The Messages of Peace, written by local students, posted in the garden are very touching.
