Umi Sushi

Welp. This place felt below average. I do want to point out that the service here was great. Service was attentive and friendly, and definitely busy. So I admire the service work ethic. For that reason, I'm not lowering my review. Now the food...I order a shrimp appetizer and it felt bland. The sauce was way too sweet. For almost $9, it certainly felt like a rip off. Then I got a salmon katsu bento box and half of the items weren't good. The Salmon tasted bland and the katsu sauce tasted nasty. Surprisingly the rice was good. I found it warm, and fluffy. The California rolls were the worst rolls I've ever had. The crab had a weird taste with the sauce they had used. I think Safeway rolls tasted better imo. The salad was good. I enjoyed the sesame sauce that was used. Not sure if it's authentic Japanese but it was tasty. My bf roll was incorrect. His was suppose to be deep fried but it was not. He had also said his rice tasted as if they used tap water. Other than that, for the bill being $50, I would say it's not worth your coins. With that money, I much rather spend it elsewhere on knowing the quality of the food is tasty. They do have good days during the week (excludes Friday- Sunday) though with rolls being half off.

Thinking about sushi and a good deal stop in. The service was very on point. We never worried about an empty glass or what to order. Our server was very attentive. We watched the game, drank sushi bombs and gobbled down a few rolls with fried tempura. Oh the miso soup was pretty tasty too. My dinner partner said they have really good deals on rolls on certain days. I think he said Monday through Thursday but im not positive. We went on Sunday and I didn't pay so I'm not sure how much dinner cost. Definitely going again and wanting to try other options.

This is my favorite japanese spot. I always order their katsu don, literally the best ever. Their sushi is always delicious and hits the spot. They have discount rolls during the week that are good as well. Love this place.

I know people go crazy over this sushi. It was just ehh for me. I think the lobster roll across the street is way better. our server was fine. She just didn't know the menu very well. The side salad is not a traditional Japanese sesame sauce , rather, it's sweet. I do not care for that... but if you do, you will love it. I'm also the girl that doesn't care for sweet relish or miracle whip either. If you do... that's your prerogative, but it's not for me. It was sooo cold in there too. I like to be warm and toasty while eating so I can take my coat off. It was raining outside and they had door open. We did ask them to shut door as they sat us near it. I guess I would give it another try... maybe I ordered wrong?

Definitely our go-to spot when we are in the area. It's yummy and affordable.Love the chirashi over salad. Scallop lovers, shrimp lovers roll.Portions are great and friendly service.

Bento box portion is huge. Great customer and friendly staff. Food is delicious and great atmosphere.

I really like their weekday deals can get sushi for under 10$ I love their jay jay rolls very yummy I've had also a plate of fried squid before but it wasn't the bees knees .

The new online ordering system is absolutely horrible. I used to love this place but now they changed a great system to save money and half the time, your order says completed and when you get there to pick it up, they never got it. The food I'd good but the to go orders are often wrong. I'd give it 5 stars or at least 4 but this new system doesn't even allow you to see the ingredients in any of the food. Either you better know the menu and know what's in the rolls or you're ordering blind because the new system is cheap and makes you just want to go somewhere else.

The new online ordering system sucks. The food isn't bad but unfortunately their online ordering has no details about the dish you're ordering. No description, nothing. Just an item name. It doesn't even allow you to pay for your order.

Sushi the best jalapeño bombs I've ever had. My girl likes their bento box and my dog likes steak sushi teriyaki.
