LOVED this trail ride! Our trail guide Dominic was AMAZING! So funny, friendly, and a great horseman. We had such a wonderful time walking and trotting amongst the redwoods and wine vines. Dominic took some great photos and videos of us which hubby and I will cherish for years. Can't wait to return to Glen Ellen to ride with this company again. Really well taken care of and clearly loved, friendly horses. I rode Olive (I hope I'm remembering her name correctly!) and she was a sweetheart. We got a whole private riding lesson when our guide Dominic's horse got spooked by a random tree stump and we witnessed Dominic leading his horse to confront his fear (the scary stump), overcome his fear (looking at/smelling said scary, horse eating stump) and move past it (he did!). We felt safe and in great hands the entire time. They were also accommodating of our schedule as we needed a time not advertised. I also appreciated that they tailored the ride specifically to us and our ability so we were able to trot a bit. Because of this, this trail ride is great for beginners and more experienced riders alike. Highly recommend.

Brought the family out to wine country for a long weekend to get away during the pandemic. We like to go horseback riding wherever we go and this place does not disappoint. At first I thought an hour and a half was not going to be enough time, but given the rigor of horseback riding up a steep incline with lots of switchbacks, it was perfect. Our guide was amazing, and the view was spectacular. The horses were very gentle and knew their way. Loved having two dogs along the trail with us, as well. I noticed that they are putting in a couple of tiny houses for people to stay on site. I intend to book one of those as soon as we can. Highly highly recommend.

I would like to make it very clear that I am not a "horse person". However, my husband loves them and I wanted to do something special for him. Erin was the PERFECT guide. She gave pre-ride instructions that made me feel better about getting on a horse. It also helped that my horse, Annie, was the gentlest of all. When my husband was injured mid-ride (to no fault of Triple Creek or his lovely horse, Daisy), Erin was an ultimate pro. She kept us and our horses calm, got my husband safely dismounted, and got him a private ride down the hill. She and I brought three horses down the mountain and she kept me feeling safe the whole way. Additionally, Jack London State Park is a gorgeous backdrop. Erin texted that afternoon to check in on my husband's condition. We could not have asked for a better experience. I can easily say I would ride with Erin again any day.

Thank you Dominic for a wonderful ride! My husband and I did the private hour and a half ride in jack London state park. We rode sunny and Annie, both horses were amazing and rescue horses. You can tell from the moment you arrive the horses are well taken care of and loved. For me, that is the most important thing I look for when trying to find a place to ride. We were lucky enough that we could trot our horses a little as we were the first ride out and no one was on the trail. You will be responsible for your own horse, and you are given clear direction on how to have an enjoyable ride before you leave the grounds. I felt very safe and comfortable out riding, and we will be repeat customers and can't wait to go riding again. Thank you!!!

As has seemingly become tradition for vacationing, my boyfriend and I found ourselves on horseback, this time with the Triple Creek Horse Outfit, on our most recent trip up the California coast. As is also seeming to become tradition, it was an absolute 5-star experience!Having participated in only 2 (now 3!) guide-led horseback rides before, I still consider myself quite the beginner. There's a bit of anxiety that comes along with that but Triple Creek Horse Outfit really caters to people of all experience levels. Dominic, our guide, was very knowledgable, friendly, and one of the most calm and down-to-earth guides I've ever worked with. His instruction, commentary, and witty sense of humor put me at ease and assisted in learning some new things about horseback riding (like going faster than a snail's pace, something I had not experienced yet on trips like this). His attention-to-detail and recall of information made for interesting conversation throughout the trip and turned our trail ride into a very sociable experience.Aside from Dominic, the other stars of the trip were the horses! It is clear they are very well cared for and with a place like the Jack London State Historic Park in Sonoma's Valley of the Moon to spend time in... I couldn't complain. The name just exudes a sense of peace and relaxation. The trail ride itself was wonderful. We meandered past rows and rows of grapevines while chatting about the different varietals we liked to drink, delved into woodland trails full of Redwood groves, and soaked in the sun's rays traversing meadows of tall grasses. A wonderful way to bask in the beauty of California's wine country. If you are not adept at riding and taking photos at the same time, don't fret! Dominic offered to snap a few photos along the way and shared them instantly via his iPhone, no extra fee like some places. It took the focus off capturing the moment technologically and more on fully experiencing it.The fee for admission to the state park and tour also allows you admission to Jack London's cottage (see the desk where he wrote most of his stories!) as well as a complimentary wine tasting at the Benziger Family Winery. It was a wonderful package to kick start our time in wine country. I highly recommend this experience!

Great experience. While I've ridden previously, the others in my party were fairly new to riding and our guide, Dominick, gave great instruction from the start. He made sure everyone had a good understanding on general concepts and how to have good form and communicate with the horse. Most places where you trail ride don't seem to take the time to teach. I think everyone will be a better rider from their time on the trail today.Love that the horses are rescue horses too. Mine, "Cash", was great and very responsive. Beautiful scenery and definitely recommend.

100% recommend this trail ride. Horses are fun and the trails are beautiful. Our guide was hilarious and had so much knowledge on the Jack London State Park. We will be coming back to ride again!

I'm a former horse owner / rider. My last horse was a pure bred Arabian who was skittish, hot tempered, unpredictable and labeled by one trainer as "almost dangerous". I could ride her just fine, even though she occasionally would go momentarily wacky when I was on her which would raise my blood pressure and adrenaline level. Now, the gentle horses here at triple creek are a polar opposite to my old mare. I rode Daisy who is the sweetest, most cool tempered, friendly and leisurely horse. An absolute pleasure to ride. I've ridden quite a few horses, Daisy is one of my favorites ever. (I not-so-jokingly asked if I could buy her).Dominic is a hilarious ride leader, he has a great sense of humor. He is also a great teacher for newbies. His advice is simple, clear and helpful. The trail through the trees of the park is easy. There are just a few 60 yard stretches of steep inclines / declines. The remainder of the trail is all gentle grades that won't unnerve even a beginner. Of course every horse knows every inch of the trail. Truly, this is a relaxing way to spend a few hours. So, put on your cowboy outfit and saddle up! Time to ride!

So, I'm afraid of horses. I'm 25 years old and until Saturday I'd never ridden one in my life. Not for lack of opportunity, but just because looking at them from a distance was always more than enough for me. Don't get me wrong, I've always found them to be beautiful creatures. Also, I'm a total animal lover. I just never felt the need to get any closer than many feet away from an actual horse. They're big and powerful and have minds of their own. Plus they're pretty from a distance! My mom, on the other hand, LOVES them. She thinks they're the most beautiful, amazing creatures. She even took horseback riding lessons for a short time a year or so ago, just for the fun of it. When it came time to plan her birthday weekend this year I got the notion that maybe it should include some equine friends, and oh boy did we come to the right place for that. We opted for an hour long trail ride, led by Dominic. I was expecting a very topical set of instructions and then a mellow, passive ride, where the horse would just know what to do and I'd just sit there. Instead, the experience was really involved and very empowering for me.We arrived 15 or so minutes before our ride was scheduled (as was recommended in the confirmation e-mail) and by then I was so nervous I was afraid I'd get ill. We walked up to the horse outfit, and our first sight was a beautiful chocolate brown horse (Annie!). As we approached we saw several other horses tied up in the area, along with a group of the other riders standing around. Dominic quickly greeted us and we filled out our paperwork and got going. Dominic matched us (and the other guests in our group) with horses, and then gave us basic instructions on horse handling. Instead of the horse being in charge, Dominic was a great advocate for each rider controlling their own horse. He encouraged us with basic commands and provided more education than I could have expected for a short public trail ride. Shockingly, I did not feel scared or even nervous at any point on the ride. My horse, Dioko, was ADORABLE and was a really gentle, easy going fella. I ended up really enjoying myself. I felt very encouraged that a few times when horses weren't cooperating, Dominic was there to instruct the rider on how to correct the situation instead of just fixing whatever it was himself. Overall I was just so impressed with Dominic and how he handled the animals. He was a great guide, apparently with an extensive knowledge of the hip hop hits of today and yesterday (as he would occasionally sing out a lyric or two), and kept us laughing and enjoying ourselves for the entire time. He also provided some history on the area and on Jack London, which was really interesting. Also, the scenery can't be beat. Beautiful nature views, vineyards, and the smell of fresh eucalyptus. It was dreamy. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've been actively looking for places closer to my home so that I can go for another ride sooner than later. I am still a little nervous about horses, but no longer terrified as I was before going out on a limb to do this ride and getting a little bit of education. My mom and I are already planning our next trip to ride with this outfit again. We were so impressed and this was absolutely the highlight of our weekend. Also, it was so nice to see that the animals really are well cared for and loved. Dominic gave a few muzzle kisses to Annie and it reminded me a lot of what I do to my cat at home. It was pretty cute. Thanks so much Dominic! This was an amazing experience.

Let me start by saying this ride was hands down the best part of our trip! Two weeks ago we did a two hour ride at Jack London, and boy was it an amazing ride! The views are just beautiful, the horses are extremely well trained/well taken care of, and our guide Dominic was a gem! Don't meet many people like him these days! I highly suggest the two hour ride, it's more than worth it!
