Train Station Coffee Shop

I used to come here all the time, but for some reason, I just haven't come back in a while. I decided to drive up from Rancho for breakfast. A great decision. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but looks can be, and in this case are, deceiving. On the inside, the place is just a good old-fashioned coffee shop, like you would see way back when.Even on a Wednesday morning, there were a good number of people in the restaurant. They get pretty busy on the weekend, because they are so good. Everybody is very friendly, as it's a family run place. I was handed a menu, but I knew what I wanted already. The seafood omelette. It has shrimp, salmon, avocado, cheese, and hollandaise on top. The hollandaise is amazing, but I'm trying to eat lighter, so this time I asked them to leave it off. It comes with potatoes, but I asked for fruit, and for my bread I got a biscuit. When they call it a seafood omelette, they are not kidding! The thing was absolutely chock full of delicious salmon and shrimp. They did not skimp on the fillings. The avocado was creamy, I liked the Swiss cheese on top. I asked for light cheese, was just the right amount. It went with the omelette perfectly. I got a very nice selection of fruit, the biscuit was fluffy, the coffee was great, and they kept my cup full. I was stuffed when I left the table. Breakfast was $22 before tip. Considering the amount of seafood that was in that omelette, it's an amazing value! I will be back more often. Thanks.

The staff is welcoming, very nice and patient. We had a big group and they were as nice as could be! The portions are very large and at a very reasonable price. Everyone in our party was happy. The French Toast looked Amazing. Funny sayings can be found on the walls and menus giving laid back and welcoming feels! Enjoyed our morning here, and will be back.

A fun place to visit with good food and services!This is a regular place we go to for breakfast at least once a month. I recently forgot my favorite jacket on the back of my chair. They're great, I called to confirm that's where I left it. Yep, it's there now hanging on a peg by the door! I'm a happy camper!

Let me start with the end of the story: My son left this horrible dump crying. He's 11. Yeah, imagine how rude, unreasonable, and downright mean a restaurant's staff has to be to make a child cry.The staff was the owner wife/daughter, with the cook being the father. There's nowhere else to place the immeasurable blame.We two came with two friends. They were regulars at this place. They were greeted warmly. Their orders came out really fast and ours took so long it could not have been an oversight - it had to be spite. I ordered Dream French Toast/w biscuits and gravy. I was served pancakes, the wrong starch, and the biscuits were ice cold gravy. Just plain insulting.My son ordered a plain burger w/ fries. Long after everyone else was served and almost done, his burger came out burnt, w/ a toasted bun and gobs of mayo and all the toppings (lettuce, pickle, etc). There was so much mayo it slopped over onto his cool fries. When I asked to replace the charred bun ladened with undesired toppings, he was brought a bottom bun as replacement. Seriously? I asked the owner if he couldn't get a full bun. She shouted angrily at the kitchen, "[his name], she wants the whole bun now." Naturally I sent the whole mess back, asking for a new burger. The meat patty came back this time -- I kid you not -- as hard as a hockey puck. As edible as one too.When asked to address the massive blunders, the wife and daughter became as angry and rude. They not only defended the indefensible, but they tossed plates around like gorillas and could not have been more inappropriate.I have no idea why my son and I were treated so horribly. I have no idea why such a horrible family runs a public business. All I know is that if anyone reads this review and dines at the place where food goes to die, it's on you, not me. Honestly I want to give them zero stars.

Good customer service and amazing food. Glad I found this place. My wife said it was the best burger she ever had. The chicken fried steak was very tasty. We will be back for sure.

This place is so run down. dirty, cracked, chipped plates and cups. The cups look as if someone had been chewing on them for YEARS. So gross. Old dirty sliver ware. I've lived in the area a long time and this place used to be great back in the day, unfortunately I will not be back after today. I probably wouldn't have left a review like this but on top of the dirty restaurant, the food was horrible and extremely expensive.

Really loved the feel of this place. Nice and local. I had an amazing mushroom burger with onion rings and everyone was so friendly!

Absolutely great breakfast and lunch every time. Doesn't look pretty from the outside, but you will not get better food.

They have sweet tea which I love and they make a mean biscuits and gravy! I highly recommend
