Looking for a horse trainer in Northern California? Look no further!After the purchase of a nice gelding this past month, I wanted to start my relationship out with him on a solid foundation. He had been sitting in a pasture and I desperately needed some advancement in my riding ability. After an internet search, I came across Steve Wright at Wright Ranch. His theory of "Building a strong foundation for you and your horse" was just what we needed. I have ridden with trainers before, but never walked away feeling like I had gained the skills I was seeking. After just over a week in training and two hour long lessons, both my horse and I have exceeded all my expectations. Steve is a patient and consistent trainer. His priority of working on horse and rider as a unit has forced me to break out of my comfort zone and adapt to this method with empowering results. My confidence, balance and overall connection with my horse has changed my outlook on riding. My horse's new found ability to work off pressure, using his hind and mind in such a short period of time has proven to me Steve's method of training is practical and effective. His facility is clean and possesses all the amenities horse and rider can expect. He goes above and beyond with the care of my horse while he is at his facility. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next few weeks of my training and working some of the ranch's cattle in the future!

The Wright Ranch is a fun place for cattle sorting practice in the Clements area, and they have clinics as well. Steve and Linda are very friendly. Signups required as events are limited to small groups. Well worth the visit! Steve was patient and his instruction is right on.
