While scouting out some areas to fly fish near Arnold, I saw this place and decided to stop in. The first thing I noticed was a great selection of flies along with anything else you might need to fly fish. The owner had three customers in the store, including myself, with about 15 minutes left until close. He helped everyone out and still had time to suggest several fishing spots in the area. I picked up a few flies I didn't really need, but helping the local shops is important. I also found out he sells online too so I'll keep him in mind when I need something. Last thing he said was, "stop in next time your in the area and I can tell you where the fish are biting!" Thank you!!!

This is still a great little fly shop. Friendly, knowledgeable, good selection and reasonable prices. There is another sporting goods shop up the road if you want spinning gear, but The Trout Spot is the go to place for fly tackle.

The fact that I could walk-in the fly shop and feel at home without no knowledge about fly fishing and walkout feel confident enough to try out this new technique of fishing I ended up ordering a fly rod set up from here best packaging great quality got here very quick honestly I'm not surprised since when I walked in there Richard I believe the owner was very honest and helpful and even mention his online store since I was against the wall about spending money but Full honest opinion this place is awesome a grown man's candy shop or woman!

Rick, the owner, is great and always there to share the latest local fishing report - both the good news and the bad. He is also experienced and knowledgeable about fishing in Idaho/Montana and Wyoming. Rick's prices are great and carries nice and plentiful products; he won't sell you what you don't need. It's a great place to hang out and exchange stories - kind of like the "Cheers" of fishing life in Arnold. In the mornings, some of the "locals" stop in and share their latest adventures so it's always interesting. If you need a local guide or instruction, Rick can offer referrals.
