Highly recommend for both bike repairs and bicycle purchases. I sent my kids over for a bike repair on a Monday afternoon, we didn't know they're closed Monday's. One of the owners, Em, happened to be driving by and saw my kids. She pulled over, asked them what they needed, opened her shop and completed the repairs. On her day off. The repairs were much appreciated because my kids a "bike rodeo" at school on the following day. Also, for those of us with growing kids who don't have money to toss around, they sell bikes that they have rebuilt and refurbished at affordable prices. They also have really nice new bikes. We have been going to another nearby shop for years but The Ride has earned our loyalty now. Very impressive customer service.

I've driven by The Ride many times on my way to and from home but never managed to find time to stop in. Well, today I did and boy am I happy I did!I met Sean who is one of the owners, and he was so nice answering all of my questions about their services and bike tune ups.He was patient and incredibly helpful, I was blown away. Having just relocated from SF which has a multitude of bike shops all over city, it was refreshing to walk into a place and not be treated like I was simply some number in line. Allow me to explain the differences.Attitude:SF= snooty, sometimes downright rude and pretentious hipsters who you know make fun of your yuppie PUBLIC bike when you drop it off for a tune up. I know it's not "cool" and heralds a hip lifestyle of riding the streets but I like it and you should respect that. The Ride= Sean was pleasant and smiled and said bring it in, we can tune it up no problem.Costs:SF= they will charge you an arm and a leg ($100+) and not tell you what the work entails. My tire was flat in a week and wanted to charge me another $100 to repair it !?!? OR they try to give you the wrong bike back that isn't yours. Seriously, it happened to me.The Ride= I haven't dropped my bike off yet but I was quoted $55 and whatever parts or extras would be run by me for approval before being charged. I'd tune my bike up more often and keep it riding better at that price! The Ride is a small locally owned business. And it's important to support such great people who only want to help their neighbors and provide excellent customer service. If they don't have it, they can order it for you or provide suggestions. I saw a GORGEOUS bike from a brand called Simcoe which looks amazing. And these guys are the only ones in the area to carry it. Sacramento seems to have a bike friendly culture, but it's attitude about biking is less pretentious and people bike because they seem to enjoy it not because it's some political statement. So go take your bike that you love and have the owners at The Ride take care of you and your happy healthy ride!

I can't say enough good things about this place. The owners, Em and Sean, really care about their customers. I'm new to cycling and called many bike stores around Sacramento looking for a used road bike. Many shop owners were nice, but got off the phone pretty quick when I let them know my starter-size budget (about $500). However it was totally different when I called The Ride. Em got so excited because she thought she had the perfect bike for me. I came down to their shop and she was totally right. It was perfect and right at my price point. They even added in new tires, no extra charge. Em and Sean don't make you feel silly if you are new to bikes either. Ask all the questions you want. They really want their customers to be happy. I love my bike and I can't say enough good things about The Ride. They have a customer for life!!!

The owner (who I think is the only one that works there) is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He wholeheartedly cares about making sure you're set up to have a safe and enjoyable ride and not about making money. He's always going to be the one I go to for all my bike services and accessories. Support small businesses!!

Went in to The Ride this afternoon after my pedal straight up fell off while I was heading to a volunteer shift at Happy Tails via Folsom Blvd. I usually go to Peak Adventures, and they're great, but they were closed since Sac State is between semesters. I first went in to an East Sac Bike Shop to check their selection of pedals, but their most affordable pair was $25 (one of my co-volunteers warned me that they were not very kind to the wallet). I checked Google Maps for other nearby bike shops and The Ride was the next closest.I called first to ask about their most affordable bike pedals, and, wow. I'm really glad I walked out of that first place! I first walked in and met the two super friendly owners, Em and Sean. They showed me their selection, they installed it right there, and in just a few minutes I was ready to ride again. Thank you!Based on this experience, I'm ready to make The Ride my go-to bike shop. I have a wish list of bike related things I'm saving for including new grips, reflectors, and eventually a new touring bike, and this'll be my first stop. Also, I loved the way the shop looked. The two aforementioned shops have a cold, severe look to them. The Ride is a warm, cozy shop. I looked around and saw a bunch of what looked like hand-painted signs and decor, there's a lovely blossom-esque pendant lamp just above the counter, it was a welcome contrast. I've already recommended the shop to my co-volunteers, and look forward to coming back again, hopefully with all parts in tact!I don't usually write reviews, but I saw that this was a bit out of my way, nestled in a residential area, so for fear of what that might imply for store traffic, I felt I had to get on here to add to what I hope will grow to be a chorus of good reviews.TL;DR: The Ride is friendly, helpful, affordable, and delightful!

The Ride was truly awesome--Em and Sean were super friendly and great to work with. They ordered me a gorgeous bike for a great price, even switched out some accessories for free, with a quick turnaround. When I had a problem with the bike frame, they immediately fixed it and offered excellent customer service. I highly recommend, really great little shop!

Address is not correct. And no way to contact them. Drove all the way over to get bike repaired and it's an address to a house.

Did all my research and heard great things but I couldn't find the location. Maybe they need to update their address information. Really looking forward to finding it!
