I needed to find a coffee shop to take a meeting and that was dog friendly. The Queen Bean Coffee House popped up and it's a nice little coffee house. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The Caesar salad was good. I opted not to add chicken. The salad was hearty and filling. I like the sun dried tomatoes. Sam the owner came out to say hi and see the puppy. He's very nice.Street parking only.

Definitely a great place to get your brew. The menu is simple, and the vibe is chill. Highly recommend the Peppermint Mocha they had for the holidays, and for the regular menu, The Clubhouse, hot or iced, is fantastic. The food selection is OKAY - like if you're a pastry kind of person, you'll be happy, especially since the supplier is also a small business! Don't let the small selection of snacks deter you though after all, you come here for COFFEE and TEA, and these baristas knock that out of the park. This also a prime spot for local artists - they change out the artists every month, so there is a variety, and I can't tell you how much that means to me as a fellow artist that they offer this for the community. I love Modesto's humble and down-to-earth art scene - WAY better than some snobby "art" places in The Bay or SoCal that are just in it for the money. Major props to Prez for being a rockstar in that aspect.

Have not been to Queen Bean in several years, so was pleasantly surprised to find the new owners have not only maintained the cozy, comfy ambience I remember, but have made improvements and added new menu items. Last week I enjoyed an early morning "Los Bagels Cucumbin" (bagel, cream cheese, cucumber, Larrupin mustard dill sauce and a special "slug slime" bagel seasoning), along with a sweet "Midwest Mocha" with white chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut. Many other signature specialty coffees on the menu intrigue me, as do the sandwich choices on the lunch menu.I spent a couple hours writing, sipping my coffee, and eavesdropping on fascinating conversations, but never felt hurried or any pressure to move along. The staff is friendly and accommodating -- and, as an added incentive, Queen Bean has quickly become integral to Modesto's thriving art scene.Though a 4 mile drive from my house (vs the well known national coffee chain all round the corner from me), I intend to enjoy at least one or more mornings here each week, along with an occasional lunch date with my wife -- and take advantage of as many evening activities (poetry nights, cult film nights, musical performances, etc.) as possible. Kudos to the new owners (Sam Pierstorff and Ruhi Sheikh) for rescuing this Modesto icon

This beautiful little gem in Modesto is worth it! Wonderful food (had the breakfast burrito and a breakfast croissant) along with a Midwestern Mocha (Heaven in a cup). The owners are on-site talking to customers, musicians were playing on the porch, and the staff... you can tell they love their job! Amazing all around!

Cute place, friendly staff. My sandwich had a bit too much sauce and was too sloppy. My guy's coffee was nothing special.

Cozy and comfortable meeting place for coffee or lunch. Great coffee! Service with a smile. If you choose to sit outside during the colder months there are blankets on each chair.

Today I returned to the Queen Bean after an absence of many years. I didn't intentionally "stop going" as much as it is not on my daily/weekly routes around town. So this was a special trip for lunch. I ordered the Tuscan sandwich and a Cafe Americano. The ordering process was smooth, the barista said she would bring it out to me, which she did in a reasonable amount of time, even though I had gone outside (there were no seats inside and the front porch seemed a bit warm. The sandwich was well made and the ingredients plentiful and flavorful. I could only eat half as there was that much. I also ordered a bag of jalapeno chips, which were so greasy I was glad that I hadn't used hair gel and now had some place to put the lipids. (The chips were not the fault of the QB, just the dummy who ordered them.)My only comment is that I hope they fix the noisy window AC unit, which impeded my ability to hear the sirens and oversized trucks on Needham revving their engines (this is Modesto after all). Actually, it was a nice lunch, served by nice folks who work for even nicer folks. I may well be back soon, I can't wait for the back decks to be repaired so there is more seating.

I haven't been to Queen Bean since high school, but found it again a couple weeks ago when I was Yelping for a cozy place to read my book! I love the feel of this place, I don't know what it is exactly, but I do so enjoy coming here, sitting outside on their porch and reading. Their Halloween decor was awesome this past month! The service I've received has always been great. Being on keto, I haven't really gotten to try anything other than a salad and an americano, but both things have been good!
