The Other Place

Great crowd.. Kinda reminds me of The Early Dawn that used to be in Modesto. The bands were cool.. and the semi-professional dancers were fun to watch for a bit, but when I wanted to dance I had to stay behind the black line? Phhh.. what?That kinda made me feel like we were only there to watch.. which made it feel like a "man's place" watching the dancers in their short shorts. Good thing I was there with a girlfriend and not a date. Anyway.. I've only been that one time.. maybe I'll go back some day.

I just recently stopped by after being away for a couple of years and wow; this place is amazing now! The vibe is very chill, the drinks are excellent and fairly priced, and the service is phenomenal. Gabby is an outstanding bartender and provides a very welcoming atmosphere. I have worked in customer service for 11 years and having someone like Gabby on your crew is an absolute benefit to have; she is amazing at what she does. I will definitely have to recommend to friends and I absolutely plan on returning in the future. Once again, thanks Gabby for providing an excellent experience!

There has been new owner and management. We have pool tournaments. DJ's and bands. It's always fun.

I dig this place! They're starting to book bands there, like live bands. None of that cover band crap you'd find everywhere else in town. This is a real neighborhood bar. I don't know what kind of experience the other reviewer had, but I have had nothing but a fun time there. Not real crowded, but hopefully the bands will start bringing in more ppl. Totally low key, couple of pool tables, the bartenders are very nice.The Refuzniks (new band in the area, cowpunk/rockabilly/alt country) play there every 2nd and 4th Saturdays starting around 9-9:30pm. Fun band, fun bunch of guys. Very worth checking out.The drinks are cheap, not a huge selection on tap, but what you'd expect. Cash only bar, but ATM inside.

Lots of people, great crowd, great bands perform here, great place to watch the game, you get free hot dogs and nachos when the game is on. Drinks are great priced an they have limaritas an strawberritas. One time a guy got punched for motorboating the bartender. Lots of wild times here. This is a pretty big clamper bar. An if your having issues alcoholics anonymous is right next door

Very fun bar to hang out at on the weekend. Live bands every Friday and Saturday night and never a cover charge. Always has something fun going on the week nights like Texas hold-em poker, bottoms up tavern trivia, or karakoe. Prices are cheap and the bartenders are super awesome. Great place to meet new friends at.

This place used to be an ok bar. At one time it was fun. Last night I went there to meet up with some friends to watch football. When I went up to order drinks the girl next to me said you know the bartender just called you white trash. When I asked her she admitted it. For no reason. I'm the nicest person you will ever meet. I wont be going back. Time for them to hire a new bartender. I won't be missing Modesto when I leave that's for sure.

Ok place...good live music. Bartender Christina is nice. good hearted people, rock atmosphere classic along with new. People watching is good and conversations are plenty.

Went there for the very first time last night. Initially we really liked the place, cool vibe, a fair tap selection, and the bonus is pool! We were only there the last hour or so. At 1:45 the bartender did last call as usual. This lady then starts asking if someone wanted a free extra corona and the bartender became totally outa line. The nice girl gives it back to the bartender who starts telling everyone it's "2:10 & she's waaaay past time ect" the real time was 1:54. We said what it's 1:54, again as were leaving. She starts talking about bartime ect and SHOVES him out of the door. She started cussing and shoving repeatedly. Even the bouncer came to check that we were ok and even other patrons! Because of her soley I'd never go back.
