We loved our stay at the National Hotel last weekend. The hotel rooms are lovely--recently renovated with comfy bed and linens. The bathroom was large with both a soaking tub and separate shower (and a generous number of nice towels) in our king suite. There were two sitting areas with nice antiques and lots of room for the two of us. Our only regret is that we didn't stay a second night. But we will be back!

Ok first off I did not hear or see any haunting- I felt a bit disappointed but i got over it since the bed was really comfortable, the history of the hotel was interesting and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is located in the historic district. Parking is the rear (underneath the police station so it's safe)...cross over the bridge pathway and on ur right is the hotel side entrance that also has an elevator to the upper floors. The lobby has some interesting paintings and articles on the history of this 1800's built hotel (really cool history). Yes the hotel is old so the floors creek but the room itself has been updated with nice showers, good ac, cable and wifi. You will sleep like a baby unless u get lucky and see ghost:)

We've always had a pleasant experience when we stay. We normally stay 3-4 times a year. It's a quick and easy drive for us to have a night or two away. This time we were asked to wait 20 mins with our arms full of luggage and having to use the restroom. We were told there was a shift change. Totally understandable but they had Taco Bell in their hand and gossiping about who shorted who from the shift before. Totally unprofessional and I do believe it was because we look young, that they felt they could take advantage of us.

We had a great stay here. I'm a hotel snob, so I usually go for the modern 5-star places, but I decided on this hotel with history in Jackson. It has a great history with folks like John Wayne and Teddy Roosevelt staying there. We were given a quick tour of the downstairs by Christine, the bartender. Apparently, John Wayne lost $47k playing poker there. !!Christine took excellent care of us while we had a beverage and dinner at the bar. Christine makes a fantastic Old Fashioned by the way.I had a burger with fries and they were great.Highly recommend you stay at the National if you're in the area!

National hotel is homey feel and cozy vibes. Their free breakfast was variety of food to eat and drink. We would stay again. The hotel is historical and built I think in the 1900s. One more thing was they have a back door for you to use of coming in & out of the hotel and the elevator is right when you walk in the door very easy to use

We had a wonderful time at the National Hotel, from the front desk person (Tamara) to the lovely balcony overlooking historic Jackson. Can't wait until our next visit.

Well, the "charm" of this hotel was definitely lost on me!! By "charm" they must mean old and tired!! It started with the parking situation. Their website stated that there was parking in the rear. I mistakenly ASSUMED that there would be some way to unload my luggage after parking. HOWEVER, their "parking" is a city lot, which has painted signs everywhere indicating 3-hour, 5-hour and 10-hour parking, when in fact, I was staying overnight! Needless to say, I was totally confused. I was also not impressed with the fact that there was a homeless woman there asking a local police officer for a pair of socks!!! I parked in the 10-hour, only to find out that there was now no way to get my luggage all the way around the block to the entrance of the hotel, other than carrying it myself (and I am NOT a light packer). In addition, there was NO RAMP to roll your luggage up to the entrance (which I thought was an ADA requirement??). Instead, there were numerous steps. Luckily, a man walking by offered to help me carry everything up the stairs!! As soon as I walked into the lobby, the musty smell hit me, and it confirmed that I had made a terrible mistake booking there. I was given my room key and, once again, my disappointment was overwhelming. The narrow hallway and "well-worn" carpet were depressing enough, but the worst was the 10X10 room, which felt like jail cell (with antiques)!! The carpet was stretched and buckled thus creating a trip hazard. There was no refrigerator, and the baseboard under the window was chipped and water damaged. The humor of all of this was that the woman at the front desk repeatedly told me that ANY damage to the room would be taken out of my credit card. I am 72 years old!!! WHAT kind of damage could I possibly do???Several of the water holes in the shower head were not functioning, so the remaining holes were emitting a HUGE amount of pressure especially on your face/head feeling as if you were getting pummeled with a fire hose. I like good pressure just as much as the next person, but this was ridiculous! There was no way to adjust the head itself or the type of spray on the head, so I was stuck with it. The "fitted sheet" was not the proper size for the bed, so the sheet was constantly bunched and buckled under you as you attempted to sleep. 'This is a quote on Yelp from Chuck S. (the manager)........ TheNational Hotel is now a full service, luxury boutique hotel offering guests opulent accommodation...WHAT A JOKE!!!!!

We had an amazing stay at The National Hotel. When we arrived, our room was not made up from the previous guests. Tamara handled the situation with quick professionalism. She upgraded our room with a balcony at no extra charge. The room with balcony was beautiful! We enjoyed the deck and the larger room. Tamara was so friendly; she took a what could have been a frustrating experience and turned it into an overwhelming positive experience. Thank you! She was so helpful. We appreciated the fire in the living room. a great space to relax and connect with other guests. Thank you Tamara for a wonderful experience, a wonderful stay. we will definitely return...
