Super great fabric quality and selection and the owner is very caring with her customers. I enjoyed watching her return an embroidery piece the client ordered. The owner was sweet the way she interacted with the client who was probably in her 80's. The owner was the only person working the store so I needed to wait my turn but I'm glad I was patient because the interaction touched my heart and owner was very caring with me as well. I will definitely come back. Small store but great quality.

I'm a long time quilter and after living in Oakdale for 3 years took a trip to Lily Pad sewing. It will be my only trip there. Owner is very unwelcoming and the few quilters that were in the store working on quilts were very "cliquish" . Nice selection of fabrics in the store but I'll never go back. There is another quilt store in Oakdale that has very welcoming staff and also has a great stock of fabrics. That's where I'll take my business,I wish I would have read the other reviews on Yelp before I wasted my time going to the Lily Pad.

My mom bought her sewing machine here years ago, and recently gave it to me, but had lost the regular foot for it in one of her moves. So I took it in to get a foot for it, and the owner put one on and then told me that I needed to have it serviced and that the needle bar needed to be realigned. The price estimate for this was $100, which my mom said she would pay, but she is out of town and can only do so over the phone. Well, the repair guy takes cash ONLY, so I left the store with my machine in hand. I called a store in Modesto, and right off the bat, this guy was super friendly. He was also confused about what I meant when I said the needle bar needed to be adjusted, but told me to bring it in, and he would look at it, and see if he could fix it right there for free. Needless to say, I took it there, and he took one look at it and said the lady at the Lilly Pad has NO CLUE what she is talking about. She had put the wrong foot on my machine when I brought it in! I am very disappointed that I had this experience because I was very much looking forward to taking classes at the Lilly Pad, and her store is gorgeous. However, she demonstrated very little knowledge in regards to the machines. If I had left it there, and let her give it to her repair man to "service and repair" my machine would have been ruined!!!! I don't think I will be going back to the Lilly Pad.

This is my review for the machine service repair that The Lilly Pad offers. My embroidery machine went in for service and a missing pad for the thread cutter. I received it back in a reasonable time. I was told that the pad was too expensive to replace so he adjusted the thread cutter so I wouldn't need to replace the pad. Got the machine home and it was making a noise when threading the machine (automatic threader). Brought it back and was told the noise was normal machine noise. I told them it had never made that noise before. I was told every machine is different and it embroiders fine. But what about the noise! Took my machine to a certified Babylock technician in Sacramento for a second opinion since The Lilly Pads explanation didn't made since to me. The Sacramento technician found that the cover was damaged while in The Lilly Pad possession and the automatic threader was hitting the cover. That was what was making the noise. Sacramento was able to repair it. In addition to the damaged cover, the thread cutter was also damaged and they replaced it along with the missing pad ($13.00.) The Lilly Pad should have fixed the automatic cutter properly. My machine now sounds amazing and working beautifully. Worth the 1.5 hour trip to Sacramento. I won't bring any of my machines to the Lilly Pad again.

I bought a "panel" with a doll and purse and was unsure of how to sew it. I returned to ask the owner, who was not polite the first time I came to her store, if she would help me. She said "You can figure it out yourself" and immediately went back to what she was doing. She is very rude and won't go out of her way to help you.

Sent my wife to Lilly pad because it was local to buy some thread for her new sewing machine, she came home with 4 spools each one cost $ 9 dollars without tax. plus had to wave down someone to help her. Take your money and drive to Modesto to buy your sewing needs andbetter customer service.

After reading another review for this establishment earlier - and because I have gone into the store and made purchases many times - it bothered me that someone left a review that was less than stellar but based on things which are totally off the mark! After having gone into this place Many times... some of which were when there were no other customers - and other times were when someone else was already receiving assistance. Being a quilter - I can tell anyone that 9 times out of ten ladies coming to this store want to Look at fabric. The owner has very good taste in what fabrics she chooses to sell - so those of us who are wanting to look at what she has - or to see what is New just want to look around. Since that is what the majority of people want to do - it would not be surprising if she allows someone just coming into the store an opportunity to look around for a few minutes before trying to find out if they want anything. Also - because I have also been in the store being helped when others came in needing something As well as being the customer who came IN when the owner was already helping another customer.... When she has been assisting someone Else - I've noticed that she gives the customer ALL of her attention. So I don't mind waiting just a few minutes until the other person has been helped. In addition - because it is a business in a small community with many quilters who know each other - it is obvious to me that she is politely giving another quilter her attention. Then when it IS my Turn - I receive whatever help I need. The owner is Big on helping people to learn how to use machines properly, as well as teaching how to sew or quilt. If someone didn't get jumped on the minute she walked through the door or didn't get the help they wanted immediately - was probably Not a quilter and/or not from a small town where people are kind to older ladies who have something they want to share and need the undivided attention of a shop owner for just a few minutes. If the person who was disgruntled because she didn't receive attention like she wanted it - needs to develop patience and learn to enjoy taking a look around until the owner is finished taking care of the customer who was there first and might need a little more loving time and attention. I personally have received as much help as I wanted or needed every time I have gone into the store. And I really appreciate the fact that we HAVE a quilting shop in town after So Many have closed. I love the shop- and the help the owner provides!

Unwelcoming store with impolite service. A glance was the greeting followed by a snide remark shortly into the visit. Little selection of fabric, that is mostly prints which are unimpressive. Tiny store that is not worth the effort to visit. Wish we could have felt welcome or had great selection. Best wishes that the service improves and selection.

I bring my sewing and my embroidery machine in for their annual services and when I get them back, it's as if they are fresh out of the box again. I love the selection of fabric and kits. The classes are enjoyable and teach you more than just how to finish your project. I'm part of the embroidery club as well, and Lilly goes into great detail about every aspect of monthly projects. I've purchased both my machines there and couldn't be happier with the service and products I received. I love going in, the atmosphere is so pleasant and its such a cute shop.

Do not ever take a vacuum in for them to repair! They send them out & then you can't get it back. My Electrolux doffed just fine when I took it in to have the cord rewind fixed. Dropped it off on a Wednesday. After doing the paperwork she informs me that it wouldn't even be looked at until the next Monday. Wasn't happy with that but I had driven all the way there with it so I went ahead & left it. No call back from them on Monday so I called on Tuesday. I was told that the service man had not gotten back to them on it yet. I said I wanted to come & get it. They said I couldn't & they would call me back later that day. No call. I called again today (Thursday). Same woman tells me that she forgot to call everyone. My vacuum was going to cost $150 to fix & it wasn't worth it. Did I want them to throw it away? Really!! It worked great when I took it in. The cord just wouldn't retract. I said absolutely not, I would be in today to get it. I was told I couldn't get it as it was at the service mans house & he is out of town until next week. Wow.....what a way to run a business. And my hardwood floors are filthy!
