This event space is beautiful , not to confuse you with THE GRAND on L Street. We were here for an event which is located right across the street from the Sheraton Grand Hotel. When viewing from the outside it does not look much but WOW this was transformed to a Beautiful Brunch Mama's Makin Bacon event with catering set up by Plates, Music and Event Lighting was grand alright. Great place to hold a wedding , birthday or prom. Check it out for your next event planning , it can accommodate up to 1,000 guest. check out Capitol Plaza Ballrooms for more information.Parking would be on the street or Garage at the corner of J and 13th

Despite visiting the Grand on several different occasions I had neglected posting a review until now. Maybe it's because this is primarily a wine bar and I'm not a wine drinker, or maybe I was too inebriated to remember. Whatever the case, my experiences here have come close to those implied in the establishment's title. What intrigues me most is how this little business came to be in the first place. It's located in the corner of a building that is otherwise a parking garage. It's tiny, with limited seating both inside and out. And it overlooks a busy downtown intersection. It all adds to its charm. And hey, if you like a quality selection of vino and a healthy pour, you can't go wrong with paying them a visit.

Wow so I thought I had reviewed this place already a long time ago but I guess I hadn't. I love this spot especially on Thursday through Saturday nights as it is the perfect spot to people watch. You can watch all the drunk bros that aren't wearing the right clothes to get into the mix or girls stumbling out of the club with no shoes on. All while relaxing inside or on the patio enjoying a nice glass of wine nice casual enviroment where you can actually have a conversation with someone. I don't know much about wine either so the guy that's always there is always really helpful in choosing a wine that I actually like. This is the perfect spot to go for a casual night where you aren't looking to party but wanna close to the action without being a part of it.

I was here tonight while working on an event hosted by Delegata today and the staff of the place itself was very helpful in setting up and keeping the event running in terms of food / clean up.If you have been here you know that the place itself is EXTREMELY simple but, anyone with some time and forethought can really use that to their advantage to make the place whatever they want it to be for their event.

Looking for a good place to enjoy some drinks, we went in to The Grand. I've been by The Grand multiple times, but never inside so I was excited to try it out. This place is small, real small, but I knew that beforehand. They have an outdoor patio, which helps some with finding a place to sit, and if you're looking to people watch it seems that this patio would be hard to beat on a Friday or Saturday night, especially on Second Saturday. My first impression upon entering is that this place is very pretentious, so we donned our monocle's, coats and ironic mustaches and had a seat. The bartender came over and gave us menus, asked us what we were looking for in terms of flavor, tone, etc, so he could point us to a specific drink and then made a few recommendations.I ordered a Brother Thelonious, my friend ordered a Rasputin and our wives ordered red wines of some kind. The bartender returned with some bad news: they were out of the Thelonious, but he recommended a similar Belgian Ale called Maudite. I agreed to give it a try and he poured my glass. I now have a new favorite beer. So thanks to The Grand for welcoming our group, making excellent suggestions and providing a great place for a quiet drink. I'll definitely be back and next time I think I'll grab a spot on the patio.

After the cougar wife and I (meathead) stumbled out of the Mix at about 1 AM we walked across the street to catch our breath. Grabbed a table outside to people watch and to have a final beer of the night. We were promptly waited on by a server who brought us a couple of ales and cold glasses. She recommend a place to grab some go food, offered to call it in for us if we wished. I opted to walk over and order as it was across the street. We never made it inside but the service, ambiance, and class of the server definitely added the Grand as a place we will return to.

Tiny place with a big name: The Grand. Owner obviously has a sense of humor. Artistically decorated, probably seats no more than 50. So it's somewhat like being in a friend's living room. Great wine selection, warm, friendly atmosphere. John Heinen, the magician was entertaining the night I was there. A very cool place, not to be missed.

I like the atmosphere of this place. Small and cozy, pretty good place to people watch too. Conveniently located right in Midtown.

I would like to know how this place put on an event for 15+, but 12 and 13 year olds end up in the event? ID's have to be shown and I am positive that a grade is listed on the school ID with a pic of the child face, along with a birthdate? So, can some explain to me why that where allowed inside, when the even so clearly advertised as 15+?
