Beautiful landscaped garden [Walnut Creek]Came here with my daughters for Mother's Day. It was my first time visiting Heather Farm Garden Center. It sits in a picturesque hillside in Walnut Creek. The garden is free to the public. We spent about 1.5-hrs enjoying the garden and taking photos (non-professional). There is a huge pond or lagoon next to the garden that is home to a variety of aquatic birds... lots of them wandering around. The ducklings are so cute. The rose garden was in full bloom. There were paved trails and graveled pathways, a small waterfall area and a children's garden. I love the rose-covered gazebo, so pretty. The garden also makes a great venue for weddings or any special occasion. Lots of grassy, shaded area. Nice place to stroll. They are open everyday, 7 days a week, from sunrise to sunset and is pet friendly. We were there around 10:00a and the garden and park did get crowded around noon. The picnic tables at the park are first come, first served. We were able to capture some great photos. The weather was beautiful. Free parking.Review #3435

I'm so glad we found out about these gardens right before our recent visit to Walnut Creek! We came at a great time when the roses were nearly full bloom (if not bloomed already!). The rose garden is pretty big, well maintained, and very pretty. It's a bit of leisure walking and some areas are sloped, but it's pretty much wheelchair or stroller friendly. The gardens are located in the Heather Farms neighborhood and fairly easy to find. They have a big parking lot - free parking and free entry to the gardens. They also have a nursery onsite where you can purchase flowers or plants for your home. Highly recommend a visit!

I absolutely love walking to The Gardens At Heather Farm. There are so many different species of flowers and plants throughout. The landscaping is absolutely stunning and is a great place to walk around. I love taking photos here (as you can see) and just admiring all of the beautiful plants. Anytime I'm in Walnut Creek, I want to come here. I love going on solo walks here or bringing loved ones. I always see families getting family photos taken here or other people getting professional photos done. Such a picturesque place. If I lived near here, I would be walking here all the time! Love love love the gardens

The garden is not that big but the park next to it is really big. The garden is free of charge which is great. I went there around afternoon on Thursday and it was not busy at all. the flowers and roses are fully bloomed and this will probably the final week to enjoy it. You can enjoy waking around the garden or have a picnic here. The park next to it was huge and busy with kids and people having BBQ or family gathering. There are plenty of parking around this area.

We booked the gardens in mid May for our wedding and it was a gorgeous wedding venue! It offers a spacious, beautiful garden teeming with blooming roses, different garden areas to explore, a super cute gazebo ceremony space, a nice cocktail area near the reception room, and the reception room with large windows for plenty of natural light. The lot has ~50 free parking spaces. The rental rate is fairly reasonable for the venue space and what's offered. In addition to the main spaces, there's a getting ready room downstairs available to add on, seating for the ceremony, circle/rectangular (not full width) tables for dinner, and a few cocktail tables for the bar area downstairs. Management allows for a fair amount of DIYing and independent vendor selections, with the only exceptions being a preferred catering list with good selection and off list caterers allowed with a fee and vetting. Professionals also must put up any hanging decorations in the reception room, and decor can't be hung directly off of the garden structures and reception room walls. We communicated with Jenna throughout the planning process. She was super responsive and helpful, answering every question we sent her way. Overall, I loved the gardens for our wedding and would recommend it to others!

I can see why many people have professional photos taken here when the flowers are in bloom. The view of the lake and trees in the adjacent park make for a perfect local getaway.

After looking at many potential venues for our wedding this October, we decided to go with The Gardens at Heather Farms, and boy are we glad we did! This venue has a beautiful garden backdrop and an elegant Gazebo for the ceremony, an upper patio area with additional garden beds for happy hour, several great private areas for personal vows, an additional room for the wedding party to hang out in as the guests start to arrive, and a building for the reception to be held in, all within a single property that is entirely accessible even for those with mobility issues. The fact that The Gardens is a non-profit also makes them one of the more reasonably priced options in the area for a medium sized wedding. After a Zoom consultation with Jenna where we discussed their amenities and available and our approximate wedding plans at the time, we scheduled a time to have a guided venue tour, and somehow the pictures do not do it justice! The grounds were pristine, plants extremely well kept, and the Camellia Room was recently re-done giving it a brighter look. The Gardens at Heather Farms had all of the chairs and tables we needed for our event, provided us with options for floor plans for the ceremony and reception, and they even recommended the wedding coordinator that we decided to hire. We were able to have the wedding rehearsal on-site the day before the wedding. If you are in the area and are looking for something to do (even if that something is not "host or attend a wedding"), I would highly recommend stopping by. As long as there is not a private event going on, the gardens are free to tour, and there are tons of different flowers, plants, and fruit trees to experience. They even have painting classes, volunteer opportunities, and they sell plants!
