Went in for breakfast. We went to the podium to check in and were sat right away. It's not a big space but they have plenty of tables. I decided to order the chicken and waffles. The waffle has bacon cooked in it which was tasteful. The boneless chicken was perfectly crunchy covered in gravy. It was a great combination. The veggie omelette plate came with country potatoes, choice of bread and fruit. Added the avocado. Overall good service. They serve breakfast and lunch through out the week. They have to go snacks, fruits meats and cheese, and pies. Perfect if you decide to do a little wine tasting while you're there. They have great wines!

The red sangria was refreshingly delicious, the red pozole which is seasonal was very authentic tasting, and the taco salad was wholesome. I think the meat I had on my salad was not carne asada. It tasted more like carnitas. Although the service started really slow, there were no greeter at the post to seat customers so there was a wait trying to sit down. Once I was the table the service picked up and my server was efficient. Overall experience was good. Lots of options on the menu. Definitely a good stop before or after wine tasting at MDW.**Don't forget to follow me on IG for more great foodie places to check out Follow...@Only1ChristineLu **

Best breakfast in town. This place never lets me down. Today we had the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote and the chicken n waffle with a bacon syrup gravy. Delicious x2

Day 3 Stop 1In anticipation of our wine tasting we went early as we did not want to have to wait in line... They do get busy as the morning hours tick on. Fortunately for us, there was no line and we were seated right away. For seating, you can seat inside the cafe or get a patio table, both of which are comfortable and pleasant. We were presented with the menus and offered coffee or other beverages upon seating. Within a decent amount of time our server returned to take our order (I was impressed that we were not rushed...) and refill our beverages. Meals were delivered, food was good, timing was perfect for our schedule. I would like to make a suggestion that if you are not hungry, order side orders instead as the portions are large.I'd go there again even if I wasn't going to attend any wine tasting....Hana Hou

I have been to Michael David on many occasions, but always for events or tastings, so when a friend wanted stop here for lunch I was happy to oblige. The grounds here are nice and the location is convenient if you are on HWY 12. There is also plenty of parking. The Farm Cafe has a rustic feel and felt a bit cramped. It was also quite loud and warm. The selection was basic and the food and service were mediocre. It was not a terrible lunch, I think I just expected a higher level of quality from my previous experiences here. I'm not sure if I would return for the cafe alone.

Where else can get homemade breakfast, lunch, pastries, wine, snacks, lounge around with friends and family, or play bocce? The owners, and the staff treat you like family. Everything is fresh and made with love. This cozy country gem is not only a local favorite tourists love it too!

The Lodi burger was good. Had great flavor. The dill potato salad was also really good. The pumpkin walnut pie was delicious. Loved the pumpkin flavor and the candied walnuts in the top really added to it. Service was good

I've been to Michael David a few times for tasting but finally made the effort to eat at The Farm Cafe for breakfast on our way out of town---we're happy we did! Quick and easy, we didn't have much but what we did was great. Biscuits and gravy for me and lemon ricotta pancakes (with boysenberry compote!) for my husband, both absolutely delicious! Also got a boysenberry pie and some cookies to bring home....really wish the whole place was closer than a five hour drive!

Everyone has a place to try once, maybe twice. The Farm Cafe at Michael David Winery was our first visit. The ambience was nice as it has a rustic café feel to it. Service was good, but we did to get up and track down our server for more water and syrup when it wasn't that busy. Now let's talk about the food. My wife and I split the chicken fried chicken breakfast - the country potatoes are good, but the chicken fried chicken was overcooked and dry, so be sure to drink plenty of liquid to wash it down. Our pancake had a very interesting taste. They call it a buttermilk pancake, but I think they need a better batter recipe as it was a mix of cardboard and uncut flour. but will be back for another try at their menu. Cheers and don't forget to go wine tasting. They have some of the best wines in California.

This was an unexpected find! We needed a restaurant relatively mid point on our trek from Sonora to Sebastapol, so the twin nephews could eat and stretch their legs, and found this spot via yelp filtering. One of my nephews is celiac, so that vastly narrows the number of options on any route much less the one we were taking. Yelp reviews said this place had gluten free options and was rated well, so we added it as a stop on Waze.So glad we did! The four of us, two adults and two elementary school boys, all found something we liked on the menu and enjoyed our food. The portions are huge, yet the prices are reasonable for what we got. The service started a little slow, but the place was packed and we were using it as a chance to take a break before hitting the road again. We particularly appreciated that we could hit the bathrooms and browse the wine, cheese, and other items in the shop, too. It is well worth the detour into Lodi, a straight shot from the freeway and maybe 5 minutes down the main road there. Plenty of reasons to make this your go-to when in the area.
