The Chopstick

We have always loved the Chopstick. However, we ordered takeout a few days ago. My husband loves their fried prawns and pork chowmein. We ordered fried prawns (7), pork chowmein and pork fried rice. I must say the only thing that we ordered that was fresh and delicious was the pork chowmein. The fried prawns were like doughnuts with a little bit of shrimp inside. There was so much breading on it, we didn't even finish them and for $9 for 7 prawns, that was a waste. Let alone the pork fried rice was old and kind of hard.... Mainly rice, soy sauce and freshly cut green onions on top of the box. There were a few crumbs of pork but it was sparse. The rice, at $5.60 also, went to waste. This restaurant had been one of our favorites for decades. We are on to looking for another Chinese food restaurant with delicious prawns and pork fried rice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For the price it can't be beat. Good food quick and friendly service and the price is right. The combo plates for lunch and dinner on the back of the menu are the best. The garlic chicken is on point.

I've been coming to The Chopstick for many years. This takeout restaurant offers tasty food and generous portions for a great price. I usually get the combination plates. I recommend getting the Barbecue Spareribs or the Lemon Chicken. I'm pretty sure the other options of the combination plates would be great as well. The Chopstick has never disappointed me and I will continue to come back.

They don't make their shrimp chow mein the same. They shouldn't have started putting pan fried noodles inside of the chow mein...put it back on top.

Service: I called on Sunday morning (yesterday) right when they opened at 11am. Had a really eventful night celebrating my bro's birthday so we woke up real hungry. When I placed the call, I was put on hold. Someone jumped on the line after 8 minutes and mumbled something only to put me back on hold. 4 minutes later I had my sisters-in-law call in just to see if they forgot about me. Sure enough, she got through and started placing the order I had in my hand. The lady said the food would be ready in 30 minutes. It wasn't. I gave a 10 min cushion and still had to wait another 10 minutes when I got there. 50 min total time. I was the only one there and said I had a phone order...she brought the food out but before handing it to me she decides to verify the phone number it was under. Why bring the food out to me and then verify? Food: I've had the same order a few months back and it was pretty good. This time I told my bro it didn't taste the same. Apparently there have been a change of ownership. I could definitely taste the difference. We were hungry and the food tasted meh. They used a different style noodle for the chicken chow mein. Could only imagine if we weren't hungry! This place is not the same. Lower quality food and worst customer service. Definitely won't be back.

Good food and at a reasonable price. Fast and nice service. Little small, hole in the wall, but have been a Stockton staple for decades.

I love the food from here! Ive been eating here since I was a child. The shrimp fried rice is awesome. Its my favorite shrimp fried rice in all of Stockton. They used to have plain pan fried noodles that were the best thing ever. But sadly they are no longer available. The chow mein is hit or miss. I also order the fried prawns but sometimes they are too bready and theres barely enough shrimp.

Love this place. Have been coming here since I was a kid. Now I am bringing my grandkids to watch them cook through the window. The food is good and the people here are very friendly and ask about my grandkids if I ever show up without them.

I absolutely love their food and I refer them to everyone. They can have their days where the food is bland but overall, it's delicious. Not a fan of their egg rolls. Very bland. Their customer service has gone downhill throughout the years. Waited 20 minutes just to get our soup that comes with our meal. They rarely come to check on your drinks. At no point did we get anyone to refresh our waters today. We usually just pour our own because we wait forever to have someone to come by. Today we couldn't because there was not pitchers of water. I will continue to go there because I love their food, I just wish they would provide better customer service.

Been coming here since a kid in the 90's.I no longer live in the area, but try to eat here once a year. Food is delicious and good prices. I'm very disappointed there's no more square pan fried noodles so taking off one star.
