Marco Polo found another gem! This one is a newly remodeled Victorian Inn just step from the Sacramento River in Walnut Grove . The new owner Becky was super accommodating on my last minute call. I was enjoying a beverage at a local restaurant bar on the Delta called Guisti's. Wednesday is lobster night and Thursday night is Italian night. It's one backroad back to the Barlett Inn after a hint from the bartender. The Inn has several rooms and one at least with a private bathroom. I took the purple room with a comfortable queen bed. There was also a vanity and sink beautifully decorated. For a mid week price in the off-season of $84!!! Sweet ! There's a few small markets and shops in walking distance too. Another local bar called Tony's is just down the block from the Bartlett Inn.There is WiFi which is key! In addition, there is a common kitchen and living room. There's a lot of room with a hallway bathroom on both floors. Keep up the hard work Becky, and thanks for making me coffee in the morning!!!5 Stars from Phish!

Very glad we found this place. If you know what you're getting, it might even rate five stars. To be clear, this is not a B & B. Rebecca puts out a nice continental breakfast, but isn't there to cook or serve anything for you. Not a problem for us, and she did clarify that beforehand. We came in the off season, so we had the place to ourselves. That said, the place is so nicely decorated, and very clean. Our room had a private bath and a cute little balcony overlooking the street. The neighborhood, while not "scary", is certainly not upscale. Working class families for sure, but everyone was friendly. Walnut Grove, and the delta in general, and dealing with a struggling economy, so just know that going in. But The Bartlett makes a great home base for touring around the area, and Rebecca was quick with lots of great recommendations for restaurants and such.

Stay here and soak up the delta. This spot is perfect. The area is gorgeous and the people and so welcoming. This is also walking distance from Locke!!!! I recommend two nights to soak up the delta vibe and drink fantastic local beer and wine. Also try to visit the marshes to see them while they are left. This is off the map California that kinda kicks ass!

The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. There is great local food, the beautiful Delta, and the Grand Island Vineyards close by. We will definitely be back!!

I love the Sacramento Delta and walnut Grove in particular, but could never find a comfortable place to stay for a night or two. Then I found the Bartlett Inn on C Street, a restored tea house according to the welcoming and good-spirited owner and hostess, Victoria Brady. The rooms are super cozy, very reasonable, and there is a shared kitchen and TV room. And air conditioning! Some rooms have a private bath and some share a bath down the hall. Across the street is a nice Mexican restaurant (Victoria didn't recommend it but I liked it a lot), and half a block away is the fabulous Mocha Mel's coffee, ice cream, and deli. We'd definitely stay there again.
