If you like beer Taps Barrel House is the place to go. Taps features a seriously massive list of local brews and a few others that is nothing to scoff at. Dark beers, Stouts, IPA's and so many choices it'll make your head spin. Very enjoyable spot to relax and enjoy a beer or two. I'll keep this review pretty simple because this place is basically just that, a place to come and enjoy a brew. Between the solid selection and cozy atmosphere, this place is on point. Taps, a Stockton gem...

It would've been a four star but each time I come in the service is not great. for example one of my visits, I was thinking out loud which # I would pick and one of the gals who was working was like ewww that one is gross I don't think it.!!!! I didn't think that was professional at all. I only come back because I really like the HighWater Beers, they usually have over 10 beers on tap.

Beer for days! Was visiting in town on Saturday afternoon, and it was not pack at all. A section of the place is a bar, as the other side is known for dining in and live music. Hung out at the bar side, found a jumbo jenga, also a cabinet full of other games. + 28 beers on tap+ price and alcohol content listed on the wall+ Service was attentive + spotted regulars at the bar+ parking in rear or streetBecause I'm a whiskey drinker, I ordered Whiskey thief (Scotch Ale) . The taste was good, scotch flavor was there, one drink was enough.

Have been coming here consistently since 2015 and have never really been disappointed here! It's on the Miracle Mile right next door/connected to Whirlow's, and parking is easiest either right out front or in the back parking lot connected to the back entrance of Whirlow's. After living in Portland for a while I really appreciate the free parking on Stockton's miracle mile LOL.Taps features a rotating menu of beers from all over (Firestone, Deschutes, etc.) but I think their specialty is featuring a bunch of beers from Highwater Brewing (eg. their campfire stout will always always be forever on the menu). The beers are reasonably priced, like $7 each, and the space is pretty chill with a combo of tall/short tables and booths. TVs at the bar area if you want to watch the game. It's a pretty small space, but it never gets overwhelmingly crowded (unless there's a local who's having a fat birthday party pregame there or something).Every time I've gone the service isn't terrible, I know some of the bartenders have left recently to work at other places like Channel. Overall it's a good place to go if you want a wide variety to please everyone in your friend group (they have some ciders on tap too), and there's special days like Firestone takeover where they serve a bunch of beers from one brewery. Flights or pints available, and you're welcome to order fries or food from Whirlows next door and just bring it over to the Taps side. I like it when there's live music playing on the Whirlows stage and you can see/hear it from the Taps side. The only things that don't make it a 5 star:- there's a single stall bathroom and sometimes it just is super nasty when I go in there- For a taproom it closes kind of early on weekdays and weekends

Stay away from here...nothing to see or drink. Beer selection is horrible. Only 28 taps and a couple in the cooler. Firestone, Deschutes, The Bruery and Highwater bombers. Strike that, reverse it 'cause this is the best place outside of Sacramento!

So I'm giving this place 4 stars. so i took the GF out to check some sights in Stockton. This was our first stop, as we walked in we noticed a very nice and large variety of beer selections on the wall. I ordered a blonde to start off and then I got a "flight" and picked four. All the beers I picked(see photo) were very good. The guys behind the bar were very cool and helpful, I really enjoyed this place. If you want food you have to go next door and order food to bring into the bar. Basically next door is a restaurant with a live band and that's also where you order wine if you want some. We really enjoyed this bar. It's in a very nice section of Stockton that was very pleasant to walk around in. If you are looking for a nice place in Stockton to enjoy a few new styles of beers then this is the place for you.I would totally retry the cucumber kolsch. Amazing beer that pairs with just about everything.

I'm in town for the New Years and was surprised to find out that this place opened up recently. It replaced the old froyo place but shares a space with Whirlows. The place itself if quite large and clean. They have a mixture of tables, booths, and bar seats. They also have a great selection on tap ranging from local Stockton breweries, Drakes, and Ace. I tried the pineapple hard cider and it was tasty! Would recommend trying it if you're not in the mood for a stout (although the smores stout was yummy as well). I enjoyed the fact that they had an area where you could get games to play at your table such as jenga and chess. They even have a life sized jenga to play in the back near the claw machine. Another plus of this place is the fact that since it shares a space with Whirlows you can enjoy the live music playing across the way! The only negative was that they have one single bathroom so the line can get long. Pretty sure you can head over to the Whirlows area if you don't want to wait though.

This is a tough one The lady who helped us when we arrived was thee sweetest ever and so helpful. We had some flights and appetizers and were going to find another spot to eat cause was super quiet vibe and wanted some music and more lively vibe. Bar tender arrived before we left and turned on some music so decided to stay and order food The food WAS GREAT and the same lady was awesome but the bar tender (Joey) was NOT friendly whatsoever . We even tried to communicate and spark up conversation but it was just one word response and didn't try to talk to us at all, so we finished our food and left.
