Be careful attending shows here. I just went last night and the musician canceled his second show during his first show. I showed up early for the second show and was allowed to buy tickets for the second show at the door. I sat down to the first show still in progress. It ended and there was not a second show. When I asked for a refund I was told they had to speak to the musician. The musician said yes to a refund then lectured me about being late to a show I was EARLY for. Then he told me he couldn't give me a full refund for the tickets because of the app he uses...that doesn't make sense. The time before I came here and was charged extra for mayo to be added to my turkey sandwich. This place doesn't seem to be costumer first. The food is great so if you can get past unprofessional service you'll be fine. I don't know that I'll be back.

The Jazz Club is separate from the Valley Brew Restaurant, but you can still get food served in that room from the menu. Great Jazz by the musicians from UOP's Brubeck Institute and it's right here in the neighborhood.

Went here for the first time with some old friends and my 10 month old daughter. We had so much fun! The environment was very warm and welcoming. Definitely children friendly. I just wish we could order from the entire menu instead of the selections provided for that section.

Dropped in for the grand opening, good music, good crowd, good food, good drinks, reasonable prices. Look forward to seeing more jazz on Thursday nights. Two great sets with Simon Rowe on piano, Patrick Langham on alto, Bill Vanderhaar on upright bass, and Brian Kendrick on drums.Take 5 Jazz is a joint venture with Valley Brew. http://valleybrew.com/

Last Thursday, I went to Take 5 Jazz Club for the first time. I was blown away by the awesome musicianship and the sound quality. The sound levels were perfect for the environment--unlike other venues and bars in the area. You could enjoy the music and still hear the people you were with. But note, this was a concert and not merely background music. These musicians are pros! I ate prior to attending so I'm unable to review the food. Their drinks were good and reasonably priced; however, their food and drink service speed could use improvement. I plan on attending more concerts throughout the year.

Given the quality of live jazz & food on Thursday nights from 7 - 9, Take 5 should be at standing room only. Yes, it's that good, & yes, I've been to Yoshi's. The cover charge, at only $10, is a bargain, & the food is moderately priced when you consider how good it is.

i love the jazz club but will no longer eat there (or at valley brew for that matter)...several times the service has been questionable... one night it took over an hour to receive our dinner (while others who came in after were served without a problem)...our waitress didn't check on us, it was difficult to get the attention of another waitress...and i was charged full price for the meal after it was long overdue...i highly suggest enjoying jazz at take 5 (the music is great) but if you are hungry you might want to grab a bite before you come.
