Tacos La Cochinita

This spot was a total surprise for me--a food truck parked in an auto sales lot. I wasn't sure what to expect at first. As it turns out, the service was incredible. The people were beyond friendly, and the speed was almost unbelievable. I ordered two California carne asada burritos, and they had them ready in about 5 minutes, along with fresh, homemade chips. Now, I usually don't take food to go for a long drive, but since I don't live near Tracy, I brought these burritos home--a 45-minute trip. I fully expected the quality to take a hit after the drive. But I was wrong. Completely wrong. These burritos were outstanding even after the journey! The carne asada was perfection. Every bite felt magical. The fries, salsa, and overall combination were exactly what I hoped for--everything just hit right. At around $12 per burrito, the value here is unreal. You're getting so much for a very reasonable price. Overall, I'd rate this burrito an 8.6/10. Seriously, run--don't walk--to try it! To the owners: I'm begging you, please bring your truck or open a shop in Contra Costa County. We need you here. I need you here!

Went to their old spot and found out they moved locations. If you go at night, look for the lights wrapped around the palm trees. When we approached the truck to order, I said to the girl, hi how are you...I would expect she'd at minimum say hello back, but she just gave me a blank stare, very serious. so not a welcoming experience. Their bacon wrapped hot dog was pretty good, $8 and was more like a snack for me. Hubby's burrito was enormous, I was shocked. snapped a pic of their hours posted outside the truck. We tried to visit again a week later, but they were closed and lights were off when their hours said they were open. so we went to another Mexican spot.

I REALY wanted to like this place. It's one of those places where you have high expectations because of reviews and ends up disappointing you. The food looks good don't get me wrong but the taste threw me off. Food didn't have any flavor. Needed seasoning. The meat didn't taste fresh. Tasted almost like it was reheated with a slight chemical-like taste. Wish I could describe it better. The girl who took our order was nice though. I'm sure the cook is a good dude too. I hate to leave this review and I don't wish bad on this small business. Just take it as a recommendation. Add some flavor.

Carne asada and pastor tacos were on point! Both were so flavorful and moist. Tortillas were fresh! Definitely coming back for those again. The set up is super cute with lights and fire heat lamps. Service was friendly no complaints

Had a Majestuosa Torta and it was delicious. Very large portions. Bread was fresh and salsa was good.

Home made Torts, with freshly cooked asada, freshly cut onions, pickled jalapeño's, and grilled Jalapeño's, caramelized onions, red onions, sliced radishes, spicy red sauce, green mild sauce. I'm so impressed. You can also call in advance and highly suggest that, they stay pretty busy. Outside taco truck is the ambiance that makes this a real Taco Truck!

I wanted to try this location, I ordered four steak tacos and was very excited about the reviews from this taco truck. I received my tacos and the presentation of the food was amazing. The steak meat was burnt and was over cooked. It was like the meat was reheated and not fresh. The meat was very tough and rough. I will try again to see if this was just an experience by the cook.

Food and orchata were amazing! Best burrito by far. Feels like Abuelita's in the kitchen. The orchata was authentic as it gets - it tastes fresh and made from scratch (not the instant powder like most places) - it had a delicious cinnamon taste.The service was also amazing. The people were friendly and it felt welcoming.The ambiance was nice. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride. The outdoor space was clean and a few seating areas were provided. I thought about gate keeping this place. Overall would highly recommend.

Since my last review, I just wanted to reiterate how good their tacos are. I have tried several taquerias/food trailers in town and this place has the best tasting tacos! They hand make their tortillas and shape them to create the perfect pocket for your choice of meat and toppings. Again, they are not the cheapest in town, but you get what you pay for!

Best tacos around so far. Great flavor, presentation and super clean truck. I'm happy to patronize this establishment as they were very good.
