Just an hour out of Sacramento you'll find Lake Amador. After touring through the foothills of Amador County, cross the dam of Lake Amador, drive up to the parking lot, and you have arrived. The main entrance is down the left side of the building. The Tackle Box is a modest restaurant with yummy lunch food and a lovely view. I had the Po' Boy special. Each part of the sandwich was yummy, especially the tangy slaw and the tender, deep-fried shrimp. The service was great and friendly. The Tackle Box is open for lunch on Friday - Sunday. They also serve breakfast.

Can't really review this place too much. Checked it out for a nice motorcycle ride for breakfast. Got there and evidently the manager/cook takes off for a couple weeks or a month after Labor Day every year. So the whole restaurant was closed. That man is evidently indispensable. Nothing open but the TV camping and the docks. Thanks for putting some notice that the restaurant was closed on your website, or at the bottom of the torn up access road, or mentioning it when we called to see what hours you were open on Sunday. Any of those would have been nice & considerate.

Best breakfast in Amador County hands down. The service is fast and everyone is friendly. Best eggs and pancakes in Amador County.. They are only open Friday 8 - 3 Saturday and Sunday 7 to 3. they have breakfast and lunch. We live close so we go there at least 3 times a month.

All kinds of gear for camping, boating, and mostly fishing, but with a nice cafe with a good view, a tank full of fish and a couple of pool tables a cool place to kill some time. Two kinds of beer, Bud and Bud Light available in pitchers. If you're in the area I recommend you visit and meet the friendly staff.

Most of staff was pleasant our stay camping and eating here. The food was good...Our waitress on the other hand seemed and acted like we weren't her problem to deal with. She did as little talking as possible and got annoyed with the smallest stuff. I would have been fine with this behavior and just assumed she was having an off day untill she went on lunch and forgot about us. Grantted we were almost done with our meals but we needed the bill to pay . It could have just been an oversight, but I think she truly just didn't like us. You may ask yourself how did I know she was at lunch? Well she was sitting at the bar eating. We sat at our table for another 5 mins hoping she would have remembered but she never did. I went up to pay and the man behind the register asked if we needed boxes very nice, we declined I said that we just needed to pay he asked if we had a bill I said nope. He got confused made eye contact with out waitress, then went off in search. No ohh im sorry I got distracted form her or ohh here it is. She just stared like we had busted in on here lunch and made her help us.

Our waitress brought us PLASTIC Solo cups whereas the rest of the restaurant received normal clear glasses. On top of that, the cups were dirty. They had sticky residue around the mouth portion. I showed her that they were dirty and she switched out ONE of them. My bf went to go talk to the person behind the counter and he agreed that there was no reason for her to give us these cups and gave us the normal nicer cups that again, the entire restuarant had. She gave also gave us a pitcher, which normally isnt weird, but the fact the everyone she had no problem coming back and refilling their cups. It was only us that had the pitcher as to say, " I dont want to have to come back and serve you more than I need to". We were very nice, polite and courteous. I dont understand why she felt like doing this to us. We felt very uncomfortable. I grew up coming to this lake and I was very excited to come back and experience it as an adult. I was very sad to be treated this way. I'm glad the man behind the counter confirmed and questioned why she did that.
