Sutter's landing river access!! If you want to go spend sometime at the American River and you live in midtown- here ya go!!!! 8 minute drive! They also have a skateboard park, a dog park, and of course the beautiful river access! I have a yellow Labrador and she loves to swim! I love bringing her to the river to play fetch and swim! The path is so nice, and they also have a bike trail! Just remember to leave nature better than you found it! Please- pick up your fucking trash and be a good human!

Great place! Plenty of beach space! Definitely recommend getting here by 11am on a hot day, because the lower parking lot, closest to the river, fills up fast! Portable bathrooms available only in the parking lots, not down by the water. Life vests are available, but it's first come first serve. No barbecues allowed at the beach, bbq allowed at the parking lot only. No alcohol, and no glass bottles allowed. The Dogs are supposed to be on leashes, although others believe not. Would not recommend laying your towels out unless dogs are leashed, because owners will let the dogs run onto your stuff. This is a great family getaway, especially on a hot day! I hope this answers everyones questions.

Warning: Cops are giving out $300 citations if you have alcohol July 2022. I love swimming and relaxing here. Don't get caught by the cops!

Plenty of parking near the steep ridge where you hike down a slope of gravel towards the beach area. I took my baby puppy 85 pound German Shepard Mother Kamala so she could swim for the first time in the American River. I let her off leash for 20 minutes so she could frolic like a joyful discovery pup in the river for the first time. Mexican music, bbq, bathing suits, children of all ages, races, were friendly and helpful.

It was a nice change from a city walk, but I expected to have a hiking trail instead of the concrete path. I saw a trail head at the beginning, but learned that it was not. We tried a few times to walk on the trail, but it disappeared after walking for 5 minutes or so with so many grass and trees blocking the trail. It would be nice to make a proper trail and some benches so that people can walk in the shade, right by the river and take breaks.

This is the place my dog and I fell in love with to go later in the day when the crowds die down to play frisbee. It's perfect for her and there's a pretty cool crowd of locals that like to fish and hang out that are fun to chat with too!

I love going to Sutter's Landing!! I love the clean water - what I mean by that - I can see the bottom and the sandy area. I take my grandchildren there. I live in Lodi & I will drive to Sacramento just for the sand. I love that there is volunteers that go around and clean up after others who don't respect the area. I feel very safe in the area I take the children. I'm always telling my co-workers to bring their families..I become friends with this elderly lady - Asian descendant, I think. She is very nice and loves to talk with you. Every time I go and she sees me - she will ask where are the grandchildren.. :)Dianna from Lodi
