Sunrise Rotary Dog Park

Nice park BUT folks need to pick up after their dogs. SO much poop everywhere. There are bags and trash cans therefore no excuse for that. The area is on a hill and all dirt. If you have mobility issues this is not the park for you.

We accidentally went to this park - in search of the other Rotary park in Sonora. I am so glad that we did. Sunrise Rotary Dog Park is quite lovely. There are dividers for the dog park - so if you have a small dog or bigger dog - you can pick which side you think would be best. The park also features a rock climbing area for kids and a community garden. You must have a dog to access the dog run area, but there were some comfortable benches outside of the fenced in areas, that offered beautiful views of the landscape if you wanted to just enjoy the nearby scenery. There are also shaded picnic benches nearby - if you plan on enjoying a mellow afternoon here.I talked with some of the dog owners during my brief time at this dog park - and everyone seemed very friendly. If you have a dog and are looking to meet fellow dog owners - I highly suggest you checking out this peaceful dog park. The dog park was basically dirt. Very uneven, terrain make it challenging to play with the dogs out there. They were weeds and stickers all over the place and I had to take some Bullhead stickers out of my dogs feet. It's nice is there and they were nice people there but I did not enjoy taking stickers out of my dogs feet. It was sadly neglected

WARNING Park itself is fine looks nice and grassy.Very rustic.However our dog ( with poodle type hair) came back covered with those awful corkscrew seeds and those round prickly seeds. Stuck everywhere even between his toes. He could hardly walk. Took forever to groom dog out. Too bad. Seems to be only dog park in town.

We had been riding in the Jeep for over 2 1/2 hours and our dog needed out. We came to this park to let her run. There is no grass but it is fenced and a safe place for the dog.

Large area with a dual sided fenced dog run. With the most amazing sunsets and plenty of parking and seating.

I'm glad it's there but it is pretty bleak and lacks shade. The steep ditch on the west side is dangerous.
