Strings Italian Cafe Lodi

This restaurant has been on my list to try for a little while. Decided to visit on a Saturday night. The restaurant is clean and well lit. The majority of customers were dining families. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. My order came with a salad, which I enjoyed. There was also bread included but no olive oil / balsamic to accompany it. I ended up trying the chicken picatta, which comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The mash potatoes were well seasoned. The broccoli was fine. I was somewhat disappointed with the lack of flavor and portion size of the chicken picatta. The chicken breast was small and perhaps needed more capers. The sauce covering it was bright yellow but had no flavor. My wife had the salmon pescattora which she enjoyed very much. In conclusion, Strings is a good casual dining restaurant for families and couples alike.

I ordered Sunday dinner here through Door Dash. I had not enjoyed their food since they remodeled.I was pleased that at the time, they were offering a large percentage off before 6pm for their entrees. I decided to try the Lasagna and Tortellini combo with a cup of minestrone soup. The minestrone soup tasted great. Not salty and the perfect blend of vegetables and seasoning. However, the tortellini stole the show for me! It had a delightful cheesy sauce and along with the lasagna I was in italian dinner heaven! They also included some of their bread which was lightly toasted and seasoned.I most definitely want to dine in next time.

They have the best selections on their menu and the food is always great. The ambiance is awesome and their waiters and waitresses are wonderful. We tried the Crispy Artichoke Hearts and the Shrimp FRA Diavolo. Both were very delicious - We're hoping they willget added to the regular menu.

Nice ambience, good food, but bad service! We have not been to Strings in years and decided to go for dinner recently. First of all, it took a while for the server to initiate contact with us, but when she did she never introduced herself. We ordered our meals, and when they came out, we had to ask for Parmesan Cheese. I thought at a nicer Italian restaurant it would be standard procedure to offer this condiment. When we asked, she brought out a jar of cheese that you would find on the table at a pizzeria. We had two of four water glasses empty that never got refilled the entire time. When we started getting our meals brought out, the table was getting full of used bread and salad dishes. In an effort to get them removed from the table, we stacked them and placed them at the end of the table. The server brought the final plate quite a bit later than the others (4-5 minutes) and ignored the extra dirty dishes at the edge. When she returned again we asked her to take them away so we could have space. She still never offered or brought water. Then she brought out the bill without offering dessert, which we decided we wanted. When ordering dessert, I asked if some desserts are made in house. She just said, "Some are." Well, which ones?? It was just very disappointing. When we were preparing to leave, I saw a bus boy tending to another table with water refilling. So I was very confused why we didn't get that. It felt like every service we got we had to ask for. The server was not attentive to her table's needs at all. For spending nearly $100, the service was extremely lacking. I really didn't even feel like I wanted to leave a tip.

Not exactly sure what happened. Food was good but service was very lacking. People all around were asked how everything was, if they needed anything. Our server, brought our meals, took 5 mins to bring parmesan cheese, didn't ask if lemon or sugar was needed for ice tea. Bill came 5 mins after our meal. Good thing we didn't want desert because we didn't get asked...yet everyone else in there was...sad.. cannot recommend based on service which is too bad, the food was good

Since the nearest Strings near me closed, I drove to the next town over to visit this one. Host and waitress were very nice and made sure we had enuff drinks and bread as we ate our meal.

Got a craving for their peperoni calzone last night and I was shocked to see that I haven't updated this review in like 10 years! I can't believe how long I have been coming here. This place is a staple in Lodi. I loved the old Tuscan vibe of the resturaunt but the remodel is truely lovely; super sleek, clean and modern. If you have time, I suggest dining in as they are always generous with salad and bread but I always seem to be in a rush!My calzone was delicious as always, though it seems to be filled with less and less pepperoni over the years and for me to pay $17 for a take out calzone, you know it has to be good. I love their fresh marinara and the salty pepperoni and as long as they are open I will keep coming back here!

It's been a long while since i was at a String's. Based on the sunday night crowd they are popular. Busy but seated quickly by pleasant hostess. Greeted by our server Lyndsay who was pleasant and did a great job. Ordered chianti and breaking bud. they do have several wines and beers to select from. Reviewed menu and asked our server for reco and she said the shrimp scampi and salmon over angel hair was her favorite. So I ordered asked for some capers to be added. We also had beef tortalinni and we both enjoyed some fresh endless salad. It's so good. Rolls are garlicky and hot. Everything was fresh and good Didn't leave a crumb. Look forward to coming back and trying some other items.

Went for an early lunch. The service was great. Michelle was our waitress she made sure we had everything we needed. She really went above and beyond! Some of our favorite items:Appetizer: bruschetta Soup: seafood bisque and minestrone Main dishes: carbonara, pasta siena, and the baked fornitino. We got a brownie lasagna for dessert It's a very clean restaurant the bathrooms were very well maintained

The service was incredible but the food wasn't so great. The new remodel is so nice! We just didn't love the food. The zoodle vegetale had an unexpected smokey flavor to it and the shrimp scampi was a bit bland in my opinion. The bread was relatively flavorless as well... I did really like the seafood bisque, though. Overall, definitely not worth the high price tag.
