I thought about giving two stars only because they didn't hassle me about giving me a refund for this month and the recital outfit I paid for, but no...they just don't deserve two stars. I signed my daughter up for the age 4-6 ballet class. This was our first time at dance class, for her and me, so let me preface this with that--I have no idea how a dance school should be run, but I'm pretty sure, this isn't it. There are about ten kids in this age group, but they run the class at the same time as the next age group up--that has another ten kids in it--so when you pay for that hour of class time what you're actually getting is half an hour because when they're working with the older group, your kid is sitting on the filthy floor getting her pretty pink(required uniform) ballet clothes absolutely dirty. That's twenty kids with the owner and an instructor "teaching them." I warned the owner that she is a pretty wild kid at the beginning of the first class--I mean let's be real, she's four--and it was obvious by the end of the class, she was annoyed with her. After the second class, she said that she was having trouble working with her, but that it usually takes 6 classes for them to get the hang of it. My daughter just finished her third class, and the owner kicked her out of the class saying she wasn't ready. Well...from what I can see no kid is going to be ready if it requires the owner to put forth any effort with them. She herself spends half the classes sitting down on her cell phone, but parents aren't supposed to see this because there's no watching your kids while they dance. There's no cameras or window into the room. There is a large window to the outside, but when I asked her if I could watch from there she said as long as she doesn't see me. I watched from my car for the three classes, and I saw enough. The owner put forth zero effort with trying to teach my kid anything. If you expect small children to behave like cattle, and just do as their supposed to, then this is the place for you. But if you expect more, like for your kid to have fun and to actually learn something--and to be able to JUST BE A KID--steer clear of this establishment.Needless to say, we will not be returning in August as she suggested. Complete waste of time. The only good thing I have to say is that the young instructor(can't recall her name)seemed very patient and kind with my daughter, regardless of how the owner treated her, she should be acknowledged for that. About the only good thing this place has going for them.

i went here for about 4 or 5 years. i studied voice, ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop, as well as started a course in acting.the dance classes can be good or bad depending on the teacher you get. it's usually bad, since there's only one good dance teacher.bad voice training classes. period. horrible voice teacher, and she never really does good songs and doesn't really give individual attention, like she should for the price.they also claim to do acting, but the only acting classes i attended were cancled because of "lack of male interest". she wanted to do godspell. she could have easily changed the play to one more female based, or cast females as male roles, but she chose to just cancel the course all together.i also didn't like the general christian attitudes of the teachers, where they constantly seemed to look down on you if you weren't christian, or at least didn't follow christian values.

My two daughters have attended the Stockton School of Performing Arts for almost three years now, and it has been a joy to see how much they have improved in their dancing skills and abilities. They each take ballet and tap classes there, and they love going every week. The dance teachers there really strive to advance their students' dance techniques and do it in a fair and respectful way. The tuition is fair and affordable, even for a family with more than one child attending dance classes. The end of the session recitals/shows are creative, entertaining, and put all their talents on display. The grandparents love the shows!

Terrible, terrible, terrible!!!!! Mean and rude staff, unprofessional teaching, and they do not have any proper knowledge on anything that they teach.I do not know where to go at this point for dance, however, if you are interested in voice lessons I suggest you contact the University of the Pacific conservatory and ask for a voice major senior for lessons. They actually know what they are doing, trust me.

My daughter Lexi has been attending SSPA for over 4 years, Rhonda and her staff are excellent with children, the environment is very friendly, and comfortable. These dancers practice hard and their routines speaks for itself, come to a recital and you will see how hard these instructors work with their "children". I recommend SSPA to any child who wishes to learn and excel in ballet, tap, jazz and or hip hop. SSPA also has a competitive dance team, Lexi looks forward to many more years of dancing with her great team.
