I got my first up close tour of the Stockton Civic Auditorium in decades the other day at the San Francisco Giants World Series trophy tour. I have driven by the Civic many times and even walked right past it during the Asparagus Festival but it has been at least a decade since I have actually been inside. (I think the last event I went to there was a Howie Mandel gig....back when he still had hair.)The parking around the Civic Auditorium seems ample but with the couple hundred people who were there to see the trophy it was hard to find a place to park within a couple blocks. We were veryyyy lucky to find a street spot a block away. The neighborhood is not the best but they have done a really good job of keeping up the building and the surrounding areas. While we were waiting in a line that stretched around the block I did not at any point feel unsafe. I was really excited that I was going to something so awesome as a World Series trophy at something as storied with history as the Stockton Civic Auditorium. The inside is starting to look a little tired and could probably use some TLC. They have a huge parachute looking contraption that separates the bottom floor from the upper balcony. It really looks awkward but maybe it looks nicer when they have dances here. (Yes believe it or not I went to a prom or two here.)Keep up the good work on the Civic Auditorium, Stockton...it is an awesome spot that is much deserving of some of that downtown revitalization love. :0)

Civic Auditorium is such a nice place. I love it inside and out! The building is just beautiful, it is definitely a must visit/see place in Stockton. Make sure to look at the art work too!I used to attend many events that was held there. Including film fest and high school senior prom. Today I took my kids & niece there for the Chinese New Years Festival. It was flooded with people which made it seems like the place was so tiny.

I came here for a retirement ceremony and dinner for Stockton Law enforcement and Fire Fighters. This is a very large hall and there was plenty room for us to have our own table and a large dance floor to party. The facilities may be a little dated but the building is well-maintained. I love that it is near the riverfront and the atmosphere for photos the location provides.

A great place to see a concert, I attended my first concert here. I saw the Human League with The Thompson Twins. It was cool. I have since left Stockton. I come here every year for the Chinese Festival.

With the Stockton Arena located right across the street, this place no longer gets the recognition it use to. But don't be fooled, despite the buildings old age, it is still very well kept up. We have had the privilege to dj there a couple of times in the past. I'm a fan!
