This is where we take out the kayaks when we come down from the fish hatchery. Plenty of parking but they do charge you $6 (County thing). It is about 200 yards from the river to the parking lot and slightly uphill (or downhill depending on which way you are headed). In the summer you will encounter lots of people doing bbq and swimming & floating near the shore. The area is always clean and they have a large bin near the parking lot offering life jackets for the kids.

This is perfect for an end place when kayaking the river starting upstream at the fish hatchery. I've been done 5 times in the last month and it's great! Peaceful, beautiful water and perfect distance. Costs $5 to leave car here. It's free at the hatchery. Perfect adventure for an afternoon or morning on the river.

If I could give no stars I would. This was our first time visiting. Terrible for camping the grounds are NOT kept up, porter potty disgusting, sink to wash hands didn't even work. We came for day time use which was fine very beautiful river the dogs had fun and my fiance and I had a good time fishing and relaxing. When we entered we were the only ones there couldn't find a ranger to ask any questions we saw a road that lead closer to the picnic tables so me being 9 MONTHS PREGNANT my fiance took us down there so I wouldn't have to walk far. After 3 hrs hanging out no one said anything to us. When we were ready to leave some old fat guy stopped us very confrontational with attitude asking us why we were parked down there. He accused us of being here before which was a lie. My fiance tried talking to him, explaining why we took the open road which had NO SIGNS and offered to pay the parking fee which we had no problem doing so we just simply didn't know where to. The old man wouldn't have a civil conversation with us instead told us to leave and to never come back. I felt bad for the woman he was with who looked super embarrassed at how that dude was acting. I would too if I was married to a arrogant ignorant man. We were simply looking for places to take our son once he was born since we are new to the area but we will definitely stay clear of this place. We felt attacked. Again, we had no problem paying or following rules if there was anyone out there attending the grounds or clearly posted! The old man threaten us with a ticket like if we minded paying anything. Worst part is I am in early labor and wanted to just enjoy a relaxing day. Thanks for ruining it maybe he should put his energy into cleaning the damn bathrooms and grounds.

Not much room to swim without getting swept away by the flow of the river , a lot of rocks, dirt and trees
