Great place to send your kids. My son enjoyed his time there as a student and now gives back to the program as a football coach .

No School is perfect of course but so far this year 2023 has been just fine. My son is showing some signs of possible ADD so we are working with counselors about it. They have been very informative and helpful. My son is the quiet academic type of mixed race and has not been bullied once. In fact he has made some friends and a ton of kids seem to know who he is. The work is definitely rigorous I honestly wish they didn't get work during breaks that has been the difficult part. We want him to have family time and enjoy ourselves during breaks but they tend to give him work not really allowing much free time. Life can be like this in the future so perhaps it's a good a lesson. It's just for us it is our last years before they go off to college and we would love to enjoy it some. Constantly bogged down in homework is tough. Overall safety, and lots of classes and programs like a college really has been great. I find everyone who works there is very helpful and kind, Ms Felicia the cross country coach is really cool as well. Very welcoming in my opinion.

When I was a student at St. Mary's our religion teachers would offer extra credit in their classes if we created anti-abortion/pro-life signs and picketed outside of abortion clinics. My freshman religion teacher also made a student burst into tears because she told him his dog wasn't going to heaven (his dog had just died). Also in that same freshman year she asked a group of girls to line up in front of the class and have a boy walk up and stick a piece of tape on one of the girls' hands. He then proceeded to take that piece of tape and put it on the next girls' hands and then the next girls' until the tape lost its stickiness. And that was how she tried to teach us girls that for every sexual partner you have your value decreases until it's nothing.

Great school that really care about the students! I will say that they go above and beyond keeping in contact of how the parents and archers and counselors can work together to keep the students successful! I would highly suggest not only is my child getting the education to be successful in college and life but gets to practice her catholic faith

My husband and I met at St. Mary's 50 years ago, we have been married nearly 45 years. I count my blessings that I was able to attend St Mary's! Our children graduated from St.Marys where we believe they had opportunities to excel in a community of caring friends and teachers. My grandson is currently attending and his brother and cousins will follow him.The school works hard to provide everything with limited funds through the lowest tuition in Northern California. Many generous supporters have allowed the school to continue to improve facilities to benefit the students.Private schools have provided a secure and structured environment for learning, we thank Annunciation School for giving our grandchildren a good base to rise from. A great investment in your child's future!

I hated high school. I got sent to this place versus the public school of choice. There were lots of opportunities here, I'll admit that, but I had to pay for said opportunities. And despite all the great things like speech and debate and model united nations that I was involved with, I was still left with the stigma of being a catholic school girl.jerks.

I would rate Saint Mary's a -5 if I could. Was there 4 years and my life was HELL. I'm BROWN and didn't play sports therefore I was treated like I had no worth and SEVERAL times I got accursed of things I didn't do and when I was proven innocent I was asked to not talk about it. My dad worked really hard for me to attend this school and I feel like his money was being spent on a school that treated me like I was NOTHING . My sister was talked down to as well in her 4 years there. Asking her if she sold oranges because she's Mexican. My brother was kicked out his sophomore year because he had troubles with his grade. No one showed any kind of support and everyone that had money was able to do as they please . This included drugs , racism , drinking etc.

In Stockton, the only two "above average" high schools are this school and Lincoln. Lincoln is the far better option. They will also accept your student in for free and educate them even if you live out of district as long as the right paper work is filled. St Mary's was not worth the money and the education I received was mediocre at best. The 10k this school costs a year usually just goes to sports and rarely helps students better their education. Smoking, vaping, drugs, etc. are also all common on campus. Staff are more or less just as hateful of their jobs as public school staff are. Nothing special I can really say about this school. Performs about as well as your average public high school but charges you an arm and a leg, wouldn't recommend.

WARNING!! This school is a disgusting example of what happens when the interests of money get in the way of the best interests of the students. I am a product of Catholic education. I am deeply offended and disgusted by how this school chose to pull a graduation from a student, simply because she had the gall to voice her own opinion that the school focused it's funding on school sports and neglected investments in their education needs.Wow... you would think this young person had committed a crime. The school claimed she was "harming their reputation" by pointing out that for the 4 years she was there , they had cockroaches in the classrooms and cafeteria, and that there was little investment in things like needed lab equipment. Nothing vile, nothing derogatory, unless the truth is considered as such. A school that cannot face facts is no place for a proper education... Especially when parents are paying $900 A MONTH. This is infuriating because this is against everything a school like this should be. The standard for a school like this should be equal to if not higher than our public schools. I have attended both, and I have involvement with daughters in 2 different high schools.... this would have NEVER happened in either of their schools. You realize in life that it is your actions, not your words that define what and who you are.... this just provided an eyeful of why going here would be a big mistake... I am sure they will pull a PR stunt to cover this over. They told the student they thought her comments could "cause parents to pull their children out of the school"... again, what you do shows who you are, not what you say. They are all about the money.

I graduated from here and it was four years of hell ironically. My parents sent me here to get a better education and admittedly it is a better school than most high schools, but the environment here is so toxic. Teachers are homophobic, judgmental, and most teach from a closeminded perspective and feed students answers rather than teach them to think for themselves. Staff favors and puts a lot of money into sports rather than the actual classrooms. They prioritize athletes and getting donations rather than use the money towards classrooms that have rotting walls with termites and even sometimes rats running around. They It is so unhealthy here but everyone puts on a friendly welcoming mask.
