Lobby smelled nice but my actual room smelled like rotting food. The room numbers are set up completely backwards, if your room has a low number you have to walk to the end of the hall and the bigger numbers are closer to the lobby. Makes no sense. There's also a 7$ fee to park your car over night. What's up with that? Stay somewhere else.

This is the worst hotel I've stayed at. Me and my family went for a concert and we picked this hotel to stay at. The pictures looked nice so we thought it would be ok, we were definitely wrong. They charged us extra for parking and fee for the room which they definitely just scammed us. The room was decent but not great just like a cheap hotel room from what I can remember. THE ELEVATOR SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS GONNA BREAK. We just took the stairs at that point because the elevator was definitely not safe. The lobby looks nice but the rooms don't.

Such a pleasant surprise in Pleasant Hill, CA. I understand this location became a Sonesta a year ago and they've done wonders with the place. The staff super nice and efficient. Personable at the front desk. Room is clean and welcoming. If you need a place to stay in Pleasant Hill, I highly recommend the Sonesta. Plus super close walking distance (just across the street) to downtown restaurants and shops.

The staff was phenomenal! Jacky was so helpful and hospitable when checking in! Helped us get the room we wanted and later helped me with a late checkout. We stayed in 3 different hotels during this trip, and this hotel by far was the best overall in cleanliness, hospitality, and value! They were Ben had a nice size gym! Only thing that we didn't like was they provided shower gel and it really stink bad. I would definitely stay here again

I've stood here many times before, Angela at the front desk Is very nice and attentive. She gave me a water upon check in. The beds are comfy and the room is always clean when I stay here. I tried the fitness center and it was nice and clean as well, it has the basics for a workout. Now the reasons I'm going to give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because my room was haunted and from what I heard from a little birdy, the whole 2nd Floor is haunted.. I'm not going to spill details what happened during my stay, but it was spooky and unsettling. I don't know if I'm going to stay here again when I'm in the area. And if I do, definitely will not stay in certain floors and room and I will bring my rosary and some holy water with me..

We booked Sonesta Hotel early for a first time to stay with my Nieces College team travelling from the East Coast, and reunite with several other family members travelling from various locations for a special event. The how can I help you check in clerk was cold & calculating. She was intent on a 35$ fee for a 1/2 hour early check in, which I had already cleared with two other hotel managers. Bad start! The nontransparency of hidden fees, resulted in an overpriced average Hotel, when we could have stayed in a nicer Hotel with more amenities!Parking fee, early check in fee, pet fee, etc. No breakfast bar, or even Coffee in the lobby? Every concession was "extra". Our final charge was unreasonably higher than the quoted rate. The Hotel is in a cramped parking lot adding to another crowded Nor Cal growing suburb concrete jungle. The hotel elevators broke down on our stay, creating another challenge. (Fire Dept. and Elevator inspector show up)So many store fronts and businesses, it creates a sense of claustrophobia. All said, the rooms were clean, and the TV's are massively large. Large fitness facility and close to HWY 680 access, however the negatives hugely outweigh the positives at this joint. I'll pass from now on. Good Luck!

Decent hotel. BUT best part is the new restaurant 'The Royale', right in the carpark - serving breakfast brunch and lunch (and soon dinner). Coffee is excellent. The food is excellent -The menu is a perfect blend of American inspired comfort food and Asian fusion twist. Great menu to choose from. Perfect place to meet for a lunch meeting - Atmosphere is clean & classy with beautiful windows and light and not over-done. Not loud - Can't recommend enough. We had the Ahi Tuna salad (light and very tasty), Chicken & waffle (nailed it ), Beef short rib dinner (melt in your mouth tender) and candied bacon (next level). Staff are warm and welcoming and absolutely know what they're doing. This is the sister restaurant to the famous Lapisara in SF and clearly they are great operators. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is a winner. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Checked in on Tuesday for a 6 night stay. No housekeeping, no fresh towels by Friday. Was then told by the front desk that housekeeping cleans the rooms once every 3 days. I should have been informed of this upon check-in. So I was promised housekeeping would clean my room on Saturday. Came back to my room Saturday night, still, no housekeeping. They finally cleaned my room on Sunday and gave me some fresh towels, the day before I checked out. Also, one thin blanket on the bed and one thin blanket in the closet. Not enough in the winter.

Yesterday I went to check into the Sonesta Select Pleasant Hill, I had a 1pm zoom meeting to hop on and I arrived at the hotel at around 12:20pm. When I entered the lobby I heard loud talking. There was a customer who was African-American and in a wheelchair having a heated discussion with the front desk clerk who I later learned her name was Romica. There were 2-3 other people in line in front of me and we all witnessed this interaction. What I learned was the customer (who works for the military) was told she'd get a 15% discount upon check-in. The clerk the night before couldn't figure out how to apply the discount and told the customer to let the daytime clerk (and/or manager) know and they'd apply the discount. The customer was asking for the discount when I walked in the lobby as she was checking out. Romica the clerk, was refusing. The customer told her not only did she work for the military, she also had AAA and so one of the discounts should be applicable. The total of the discount couldn't have been more than $15. Romica, the clerk, still refused to give her the discount. Throughout the interaction (which was video recorded by one of the people in line), the clerk told the customer that she was "trouble", that she was going to call the police on her if she didn't leave (although the customer couldn't leave because Romica refused to check her out, sitting there with her head in her hands). Romica also referred to the customer as girl saying "girl, I work for the gov't too". The customer asked for Romica to write down her name, her managers and and her managers contact info and Romica refused. After two of us waiting in line mentioned that we were on time constraints and could we please check in, only then did Romica check out the customer and allow her to leave, still without providing any contact information. When the other customer and myself checked in we were spoken to in a completely different and much nicer tone, we both happened to be white. The other customer who was recording the interaction was African-American and when Romica found out he was recording and attempting to assist the customer Romica said she would not allow him to check in either. Clearly she had an issue with the fact that they were both African-American above and beyond her very poor customer service skills. The rest of the staff at the hotel was very nice and apologetic for Romica. When I was checking out there was a different clerk at the front desk and he mentioned that there had been some issues with Romica in the past and quickly provided the managers email and encouraged me to email him. I have been to many hotels ranging in price from $100/night to $25k a night due to my work and I've never experienced the lack of customer service that I witnessed at this hotel solely by Romica. I won't be staying here in the future.
