Found this place looking for a high protein meal and it delivered. There was a total of five people in our group so we opted for the Texas Trio. It came with 1lb of brisket, 1lb of sausage, a full rack of ribs, & 3 medium sides of your choice. We wanted to try everything so we ordered all the sides, tried the hot link, CenTex beef sausage and the cheddar jalapeño sausage. For dessert, we got the banana pudding. We came around 1pm on a Friday and there was no line and plenty of seating. Parking is plenty on the street when we came. My personal favorite protein was the soft, tender and flavorful brisket. The ribs were also perfectly moist and seasoned. They have 3 different BBQ sauces and all were delicious just depends on if you like sweet, spicy or a tangy BBQ sauce. All were very good, I really liked the spicy and sweet together. Of the 3 sausages, I really enjoyed the hot link and the cheddar jalapeño more than the CenTex. All the meat were seasoned so well and cooked to perfection. For sides, they had potato salad which was great, just needed a bit of salt. The coleslaw had a more vinegar flavor than the mayo heavy slaw that most would be use to. The BBQ beans were very good. The beans were cooked well, not too mushy and seasoned well. The Mac and cheese fell short, not sure what kind of cheeses they used but it wasn't a smooth consistency cheese. The greens were good, the stems just added a bitterness that some may not like. The banana pudding was the great finisher for our meal. It wasn't overly sweet and the texture was smooth. They sell canned soda, and bottled water for a good price. Service was excellent, they explained everything thoroughly and checked in on us to make sure we were good. Overall a great experience and will be back for more.

It was OK. We each had the three meat so we could try all that is offered since this was our first time there and ordered two different sides so we could try everything but the coleslaw. Both found that the food was not hot or warm, it was just room temperature which we did not care for. Especially when it came to the sides, the mac-n-cheese, greens and beans were all cold which made them not so appetizing. The mac-n-cheese was very grainy, not creamy like it should be. The greens were dry and the beans were nothing special. The meats were all cooked perfectly, but like I said, they were all room temperature when served. They were taken out of a warmer and were wrapped in foil so I would have thought the meat would have some warmth to it. The sides were just sitting in stainless steel warming trays with lids but were just sitting on the counter instead of any heat below them to keep the food inside warm. The sauces they offered were good and paired nicely with the meats. The pulled pork had a very sweet taste without using any of the sauces. Couldn't figure out what was going on there. Service was good.... enough people working the counter to keep it going and they were all very friendly and welcoming.

When we arrived and got out of our car, we could SMELL the savory aromas of the food.We were welcomed like old friends, although it was our first time there. Everyone behind the counter was friendly and helpful, explaining the menu in detail. Boyfriend and I each got a two-meat platter. It was so hard to decide! I got the sweet & sticky rib tips and the pulled pork, mac & cheese and potato salad, and the pickled red onions. Also comes with two slices of bread. No skimping on the portions, either! Boyfriend got the brisket and some of the house made sausages. We tasted food from each other's platters and were very pleased. I don't know which sauce my boyfriend chose, but it went very well with both the brisket, and the pulled pork. I made a sandwich with some of the pork, sauce and onions on one slice of bread. The mac & cheese is creamy and cheesy and wow. Cheese sauce was a tad gritty, which can happen when melting cheeses, but it was minor, we did come towards the end of the day, and it would not stop me from eating more of it. The potato salad was very tasty as well. No big chunks, everything melded well, and it was a cooling contrast to the spicier sausages and saucy, smoky meats. We were stuffed! Wound up taking a good portion of food home for lunch the next day. I would recommend getting a two or three meat platter to share, as again - big portions. We did have to try the banana pudding and key lime pudding... I was in heaven, as the key lime had a strong lime flavor, and bits of lime zest in it.The other folks who came in while we were eating were also warmly welcomed. The atmosphere was like being at a good friend's backyard BBQ.Local artwork on the walls, which were for sale. Only thing I could suggest for improvement would be sturdy, more comfortable seating. The chairs are wooden, all with armrests, and remind me of the chairs Lyon's restaurants had some 30 years ago. They seemed a little lower to me than normal. I am disabled and it took me a moment or two to stand up from my chair. One corner of the restaurant has a narrow, padded bench of sorts along the walls.

The food looks fabulous and they're open from Thursday to Sunday special hours and prep during the week. Portions are very ample. . They have beef, brisket, pulled pork ribs , sausage etc. To be honest, the mac & cheese was Not very flavorful but the potato salad was tasty. There's a small seating area unfortunately not much ambience.

I was so happy to see this place on the list for the 15th annual Stockton Restaurant Week. I am always so excited to try new restaurants. I'm even happier to say I love it here. The pitmaster and his staff are friendly. They gave us the end pieces of brisket while we were ordering our food too. I love the brisket and bones spare ribs the most but even the turkey breast was delicious. Their sides are also addictive and the banana pudding is worth coming back alone!!!! I can't wait to come back :)

This was my first time here and I was definitely impressed. As of now I'd give them a 4/5 off of the meat alone. The pork ribs had a great bite to it, the brisket was tender and the cheddar jalapeño hot link really hit the spot. I'd say where this place really fell short was their sides. The coleslaw was just lacking a touch in flavor. The Mac and cheese was a tad chalky too. Not sure if it was the type of cheese or if it had been sitting a little too long?The people working the line were super friendly though and the place was clean. I think were I to come by a few times maybe they'd win me over for a 5/5

I HAD to make a stop here while in Stockton because yes, they have some drool-worthy meats, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't come here to try their BANANA PUDDING!!! lol I found these guys on our good ole trusty Yelp app while searching for restaurants in the area, and I definitely hit another gold mine! I do believe I have met Papa EJ's Famous Püdn (of Murrieta, CA) competition here in Stockton!!Let me start by saying that their Brisket Platter is a treasure!! If you have a chance to come here, I highly recommend it! It comes with 2 sides of your choice, pickles and red onions and 2 slices of Genova Bread. We chose the Potato Salad and Mac & Cheese for our sides.Jeremy was so enthusiastic helping us with our order, and as he cut up our beautiful, steaming hot brisket, he cut a little sample for each of us to taste! We came right when they opened, so you might not get to experience that when they are busy. Aaron helped us finish off our platter by placing the bread and our sides on it. Angela was at the register and she was very bright and helpful, too. The restaurant seems like it has been here for a long time, and you can see the charm right when you walk in. The old school tables and chairs are kept clean and it would be a great place to have a meal with family and friends. The Brisket was freaking insane!!! They know wtf they're doing here, that's for sure. The sides were tasty, I especially liked the potato salad, but the mac could be "gooey-er" in my opinion. It didn't taste bad, but I just prefer my mac creamy! =) The pickles and red onions always make the meat better!Now about that banana pudding... Holy MOLYYYYY!!!!! Idk what they put in it, but it is ridiculously GOOOOOD!! If I had a time to go grab a small cooler and haul some home with me, trust, I would have!! It has this fluffy, light texture that just tastes so sinfully good!! You can also get it gluten-free without the Nilla Wafer cookies in it. Ok, you get the picture. I'll stop talking about it now because I'm 300+ miles away and annoyed I can't get it anytime soon, lol.Unfortunately, I did not have a lot of time to enjoy the meal to its fullest, because I had another engagement I had to get to. We asked for containers to pack everything up after I literally stuffed a bit of everything in my mouth just to get a taste! LOL I made my friend take it all home because ain't nobody throwing away ANY food that comes from here!!Okay I confess.. I may have had 3 to 4 bites of it all. Did I regret it? NOOOOOPE!! The next time I come here (and believe me, there WILL be a next time, and hopefully soon), I will sit my fanny in the dining room and savor every little morsel on that platter!! I'll happily pay for the food here, pricing is right on the money for the quality and portions you get! Thank you to the awesome employees here at Smoke & Meat BBQ. Jeremy even knows about Destination Smokehouse in Hemet!! Haha! We chatted about that for a bit, and I let him know about their recent opening in Murrieta. I came here on a Sunday and service was very fast! The ambiance of the restaurant was kind of down because there was no one in but I didn't mind since I was taking my order to go. I ordered a half rack of ribs, 1 Dino/beef rib, two meat plate (brisket & cheddar sausage), 2 banana puddings & 2 sodas my total came out to $95.79. For the sides that came with the two meat plate I got the Mac & the potato salad. My boyfriend and I didn't really care too much for the sides. The mac and cheese was a bit grainy (maybe cause it was cold?) and the potato salad just didn't do anything for us. Aside from that we got two bbq sauce flavors hot & sweet. We really liked the sweet but the hot paired nicely with the brisket! As for all of the meats, FIRE. I see why they were awarded best 2024. Everything was tender and flavorful. The bark on the brisket & Dino rib was everything. Overall I would definitely come back and recommend to friends and family.

They've definitely got the meat!Small old brick building on the corner of a quieter street in town. The interior is simple, but what you would expect for a true bbq joint. We arrived on a Saturday just after they opened...and get there early as I was told they run out of food. I can see why!Step up to the counter and order your plate. They have a couple options for lunch. Between the 4 of us we ordered a wide variety of food.Hands down the brisket is awesome!!! I think we all could have doubled down on that. The sausages were good as well.You get 2 sides with the lunch meal too. They were all pretty standard, collard greens definitely best of all of them. They don't currently serve beans though.But remember you are here for the meat, and you can definitely get the meat sweats here!
