Sierra Whitewater

I came here with some friends for a birthday and we had such a blast!! The guides that checked us in at the beginning were kind and informative and got everyone on the shuttle bus right on time. They also were able to tell us some history about the area (the first piece of gold to be found in California that started the Gold Rush in Lotus, the first post office in California) and also kept our car keys safe all day.Once we got to our starting point, we geared up and our guide Sean gave us all the basics. SEAN WAS SO INCREDIBLE THE WHOLE DAY. He was guiding seven women (for some of us, it was our first time) for eight hours and handled it like a champ!! He was incredibly experienced on the American River and told us some really awesome stories about the river & the area. Sean kept us safe while still giving us a thrilling ride down the river. We did the entire upper and lower south fork which took from about 9am until about 3:30 with a quick stop for a small lunch. There were tons of rafts on the water that day but it made no difference to us.My best advice to anyone looking to book is:1) BOOK WITH SEAN! He was so kind and skilled, and made sure we all felt safe and had a great time.2) Bring sunscreen AND water. You aren't allowed to bring anything else on the bus but don't forget sunscreen & water.3) Check the water levels before you book, they can completely change the rapids. 4) Switch sides after lunch! It can be tiring to paddle on the same side all day. 10/10 would recommend Sierra Whitewater, specifically SEAN!, for your rafting delights!

Great service, fantastic guide Zach, we did the full day Chili bar and Gorge! We had a blast, fantastic lunch, vegetarian and meat burgers, salad, watermelon, cookies! Delicious! This is a great first time trip, then do the Middle Fork! We recommend Sierra Whitewater, really nice people, their people know this river well!

Had an amazing time on the middle fork of the American River with our guide Alberto. Amazing guide and amazing company to raft with. Family owned and operated you can tell around lunch time. Thanks for the adventure and ILL BE BACK.

We did river rafting on 7/20/24 experience was amazing! Best trip ever a lot of fun! Very safe! Guides are very knowledgeable and provide the best experience on the river. Will be back 100% thank you

Holy crap! BEST DAY EVER WITH THE BEST GUIDE EVER, SPENCER!The water was cold and the jokes were funny. Had a great team. Lunch was so good with a cookout of burgers, chips, Oreos, salad, and a special rice dish I never had before. Also yummy hot chocolate! Can't wait to come back in the spring for the Class 4 rapids! Woot woot!

Our group of 16 (adults and kids) enjoyed the perfect combination of facilitated camping and rafting South Fork the next day. Before our trip, Deric and his crew were super accommodating and answered the many questions we had.For camping, they provided 2 person tents for the adults, and a big tent for the kids that fit 7. We slept on cots and everything was clean.They have BBQ grills, picnic tables, some lawn games, a sink, a volleyball court. The restrooms and showers are well maintained.On rafting day, they cooked us lunch and then we set off on our adventure. Our guides Keegan and Zack were super awesome, very knowledgeable, and friendly. They made sure we had an adventurous yet safe time. Listen to your guides and you'll have a safe and fun time too.

Absolutely worth every penny! This was my husband and & I's 2nd adventure with SWW. So much fun and the guides are fantastic. We had Joe and he was not only great at directing the raft but he was fun and knowledgeable about sites along the river. Highly recommend this company. We will be back!

We rafted the Gorge with Becca as our guide. My main goal was to NOT fall in the water. Becca was an AWESOME guide and kept me in the boat. We will remember our four hours with Sierra Whitewater forever. The family memory we made is the best!! We were fully informed on how to be safe. Zack was a great lead guide teaching us quite specifically how to NOT have any summer teeth Use this rafting company!!!

This outfit is top notch! My kids and I did the middle fork and had the best time! Our guide was amazing, the ride up and back was awesome and the food was delicious! We will be booking with Sierra Whitewater again!

What a wonderful adventure for a group of us on boys weekend all celebrating our 60th trip around the sun! We eased into the weekend with a 1/2 day on the South fork guided by the very experienced and knowledgeable guide, Joe. We stayed the night in a brand new canvas tent (that easily housed the 5 of us) with new cots set up for us at their beautiful home base. The next morning we rafted the middle fork guided by Joe's, Jamie. Jamie was equally amazing and got us through the chute first thing in the morning with ease. They also had a wonderful lunch packed for us. Both Joe and Jamie kept us safe and helped us make wonderful memories, recognizing we could handle some more adventures we had some great moments surfing rapids and hitting a few holes that gave us some wild rides. Deric, the owner, was easy to work with in setting up and recommending the trips for our adventure. This rafting company is a smaller, family oriented business that is obviously extremely well run, highly skilled, long lasting guides who are well equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable in the cold water. They were prompt, well organized and made things fun without jeopardizing safety. You can't go wrong with this group and we are already planning a return to navigate the North Fork next year with these guys.
