Hello there,My family and I discovered this lovely place on our way to Tahoe, and we were so impressed! Marie at the front desk was absolutely wonderful! She went above and beyond to make our stay special. An absolute doll! The room was spotless, and the view from our window was stunning. While it may not be the fanciest place, it's perfect if you're looking for a clean, comfortable stay with friendly staff, complimentary breakfast, and good A/C. I highly recommend booking here!I also have to mention the thoughtful amenities: complimentary toothbrushes, coffee, tea bags, toothpaste, shampoo, and conditioner in your room. If you need more, the front desk is happy to help. For those with long hair like mine, you might want to stop by the Walmart 15 minutes away for travel-size shampoo and conditioner, and maybe a bigger toothpaste. The front desk kindly offered me extra shampoo packets, but I didn't want to fuss with opening a bunch of them.

I love this wonderful place in Plymouth like an oasis in the desert. Very clean, tidy, picturesque and a great place to stay.

Pros - Clean, big room, nice view of the pasture and cows from our room.Cons - Hardest bed ever, completely uncomfortable. Cigarette smokers near the office (I think they were employees) and smoke drifting down to our room. Costly for the area, can't find any food after 8pm and nothing hardly open on Sunday.

Tucked at the south end of Plymouth, this can be a great home base for a weekend of wine tasting in the area. I stayed here years ago just as they had begun to remodel the rooms. Enjoyed it then, still like them. We recently used a double queen. We had plenty of space. The room was clean with simple decor. Beds comfy with crisp linens. The fridge had a couple of waters and peppermint patties. Wine glasses and a corkscrew were also in the room. The bathroom was equally clean with plenty of towels. The hotel even provides shampoo, soap, toothpaste, razor and shaving cream. Behind the office is a great small pool area with hot tub. Large towels are provided at the pool. Management does ask to be out of the pool area by 10 am, there are several rooms that look onto the pool. A light continental breakfast is served in the lobby starting at 7 am. Plenty of parking. If you are wine tasting/ shopping, ask for a ground floor when making your reservation. Never keep wine in your car when the temperature is over 75 degrees, and carrying it up the stairs can be heavy.

This has been a go to stay when visiting Amador and El Dorado county wineries. It's a good location and a decent place to stay. The owner is incredibly nice and friendly and a military veteran. This is a huge bonus for us as a military family. I have been staying here for 10+ years. Each time we come things are a little more expensive and a little more lack luster. This trip the ice machine is broken so we couldn't ice our wine and could not fill our water bottles. The complimentary toiletries are in tiny individual packages like ketchup packets. The "body" lotion is barley enough for your hands. I bring my own shampoo and conditioner always because I have very thick long hair. So, I know that hotels can't accommodate that. However, this style of packet shampoo would be hard for anyone with hair longer than their ears to do a full wash. Additionally, the complimentary breakfast is a bunch of processed and prepackaged food. That's ok for most but I don't eat much sugar or processed foods. So the only thing available I would eat was prepackaged precooked hard boiled eggs. At least it was protein. Lastly, the water would not get even warm in the morning to wash my face. Thankfully I didn't need to shower. It seems they have run out of hot water when all guests shower in the mornings. Not the end of the world but definitely inconvenient when paying $230 a night for a room. One thing that is complicated is booking. The hotel does not have a website. The online booking is through TripAdvisor I think. The owner prefers to have customers call. I found that the online price is about $50 less than the call in rate. That is frustrating as we had a mishap in our most recent booking so we got the on the spot rate which was higher than the TripAdvisor website rate. Oh well we were already here and needed to check in.Overall this is a lovely hotel. I like the area and the owners are very nice. It's reliable and the rooms are well appointed. But there are other options in the area that are closer to wineries, have better breakfast, and have more luxuries that are expected when paying $230 per night for a room.

While I hoped to have a beautiful weekend, nothing about this inn lived up to even a basic hotel level. First, it looks like a Motel 6 that was repainted to be an Inn. Everything about it is at the Motel 6 level. Pros-- Close to Murieta Equestrian Center. Ample Parking. Cons--- It is beyond Basic. Our room had huge gaps around the baseboard, so we saw a number of very large critters in our room, including pretty large (6"+) caterpillars. The walls are Motel 6 thin- and you can hear everything. The breakfast was a joke. It was a piece of fresh fruit, and coffee/hot chocolate. The staff was suspicious of everyone. They walked in and didn't ever say hello-- just asked me for my name, and credit card. Not friendly. I came back later to ask if I could take a hot chocolate packet for my daughter back in my room (it was sitting on the counter and I didn't need to ask but did as a courtesy). You would have thought I asked for a diamond-encrusted watch with her look and reply. She agreed begrudgingly. The pool wasn't clean, was really cold, and in poor shape. Despite being a peak weekend at the nearby center, this inn was barely occupied. Very deserted which wasn't ideal for a woman and her small child traveling alone. The area could be more pretty and walkable. 10 mins away is much nicer. It seemed moldy or dusty in corners- but the main surfaces were clean. It is a budget hotel at Inn/resort prices. I wouldn't suggest anyone stay here despite seeing all the positive reviews. I don't know where they stayed but it wasn't at the Shenandoah Inn. Save your $.

We stayed there right after Christmas when our power was out for 5 days! They could not have been nicer or more accommodating! Great open grass area for pets. When I couldn't figure out the TV, he immediately came to our room and showed us how to us it. Rooms were clean and had a great view of the mountains and valley. Great proximity to all the wineries. Highly recommend! A++++++

I'm giving this place 3 stars instead of 1 because the woman at the front desk (and other man that wasn't Ken) were extremely lovely and friendly. With that being said, Ken was extremely rude to us and very grumpy. Maybe not the best role for him if he doesn't enjoy being around the public. The woman at the front, I sadly forget her name, was very sweet and tried to make up for Ken's rudeness. The hot tub was disgusting and filthy! After one use, my body was covered in literal dirt. I wore a one piece in the pool and after underdressing I was horrified to see how much dirt was on my body. The rooms were fine and we had a nice view of the cows and greenery though.

The view was amazing and a total surprise So I'm giving an extra star for that. The view included rolling hills and lots of cows. The room was big. Staff was professional and friendly. They let us check in early. They include a lot of little extras in the room such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shoe polish wipes, cleansing cloths for the face. The room also includes a hairdryer, mini fridge, a full-size ironing board, an iron, corkscrew, two wine glasses. There is also a flatscreen TV with satellite and free Wi-Fi that works pretty well. They were completely dog friendly and only charged $25 for the dog fee but only a few rooms are designated dog friendly, so definitely call ahead to reserve a dog room. Our dog is a pitbull and we often encounter breed discrimination but they were welcoming and loving to her.The stay includes a continental breakfast with a variety of toast options, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs and coffee. Unfortunately the weather was cold so we didn't use the pool. Manager said the pool is unheated and spa is 98 degrees but that he can get it to 104 if we wanted. There is a Mexican restaurant, donut shop and grocery store within walking distance. But you'll have a short drive to the little downtown and to wineries.

Visited family over the weekend and stayed at this place. Other than the roaches in the room, rowdy neighbors, and some inappropriate comments from the owner; it was okay. The A/C worked good. Beds were hard and the TV hardly worked. It's not the worst. But it's also definitely not worth the rates they charge. If you have kids or want a quiet weekend to yourself: do not stay here.
