I have had my daughter enrolled here for about two years. She loves it! Great for developing young minds using music (rather than PlayStation), building confidence, making friends, learning to work as a team, public speaking, managing fears, and overcoming obstacles (whether technical, personal, or otherwise). So many subtle, yet necessary life skills are learned here. The staff is great! On a whole, very accommodating with "requests/preferences." Definitely worth a try if you just want to try & play an instrument, or have a child "perform." Only (small) negative: GOD I hate that train (tracks are next door)! Lol!

In the beginning 2017, we started with the Rookies Program. Our son enjoyed his Saturdays with a wonderful nice instructor. Overtime in Rookies our son developed a love with drumming. We then moved on to one on one instruction for drums. We bought a new drum set, all types of symbols and sticks. Our son's love for rock began. The first drum instructor had an issue with Sick Calls so we always had to get passed around with who ever was available that day or pushed to reschedule. This went on for some time, until we met the best drum instructor ever with an outstanding personality and my son learned so much from him. One day a new Manager came along and stated we have to do performance or we will be dropped from the School. With that forced pressure I initially wanted to leave this place, but my son wanted to not leave his drum instructor. Our son was doing performance and to our surprise he was doing well and on point. We believe because our son paid his dues by going through the program from Rookies, instruction, and then performance. The next performance season was even better with more rock and great songs to learn. Until late 2023, our son started to change. We have no idea why he started to skip his classes with School of Rock. My son explained that all the kids are never there and the performance instructor has been yelling at the kids. Again my son still didn't want to leave because of his one on one instructor who was the best. Overtime our son finally made his decision but we know he will miss yacine. After roughy 7 years we finally removed our son from this place. Staff and Management has changed. Reminds me of bullies who never got a contract. I'll miss the times in the beginning but will remember the bad at the end.

Just wow! As an instructor at School Of Rock I have never had as positive an experience working of any other company!! These guys are the real deal when it comes to passion, organization and care of their students, parents and staff!! As the parent of a student I have observed in my daughter an increased love for learning music and growth in her confidence and wellbeing. What more could I ask for? Thank you SOR!!

My daughter has attended SOREG from just about the beginning. The staff has been great. She has been through a few different instructors due to time conflicts, one instructor was traveling with his band, and we love how flexible they are. They are always willing to work with your schedule. From Cecilia(owner) to Matt, Jared, and two of the 3 Jasons that work there, they're all great. It has given my daughter a positive place to learn and foster her love for the guitar and Ukulele. They have new band performance groups every few months and that gives the students a way to explore different genres of music, as well as getting to know some of the other students there. The only thing that I would suggest is to allow the kids to suggest songs for the Performance groups that they sign up for to feel as if they have a little input on what they are playing. They'd probably be a lot more enthusiastic about having a say on what they will be performing on stage. If your child enjoys playing music or would love to learn how to, I highly recommend School of Rock Elk Grove.

They have been amazing! Our son has started there in the Rock 101 program as an 8 year old and has blossomed into a confident drum performer. The coaches and staff have been super friendly and awesome! Can't recommend this place enough, especially for beginning musicians!!

School of Rock Elk Grove has been extremely helpful to my daughter's musical talents. She has been to several different teachers for the Little Wings and Rookies classes as well as vocal lessons and has never had a bad experience. Definitely recommend!

I have been a student here for about 3 and a half to 4 years, I just recently aged out (I am 18 and a graduated senior). I joined School of Rock 8 months after they opened, I was part of their Houseband since the beginning and joined in Season 3 of their performance group (they are now on Season 13). Before School of Rock, I was a very socially anxious kid. I didn't have friends, I was very quiet and I didn't have any hobbies or particular interests outside of singing. Public speaking or doing speeches used to make me cry and hyperventilate. Joining at first was terrifying, it took my mom 4 months to actually get me to attend the trial lesson. When I did, I immediately fell in love. Everyone, from staff to students, was so welcoming the moment I stepped in. My vocal teacher- Kimmy- was so sweet and made me feel so comfortable immediately. I was encouraged to join the performance group and I did, and though I was terrified at first, it was the best decision I've ever made. Every single person on staff, from the front desk coordinators to the owners- are absolutely amazing. They are like family to me. All of the students are endlessly kind and encouraging. I've made countless friends and have performed at amazing venues and have been able to experience so many amazing opportunities because of School of Rock. I was even able to go on tour with their Houseband- we went to LA, San Diego, Oregon, Seattle and so many other amazing places. We got to play with other School if Rock's and we even got to play at the Viper Room! Huge shoutout to Cecelia for planning such a fun and amazing tour. I will never forget either of the tours (we went on 2)!If your child (or yourself) is hesitant about joining because you/they are afraid or think you aren't good enough or whatever could possibly be holding you back- forget about it and just DO IT. My only regret was not joining sooner. This has been the most amazing 4 years of my life that I'll never forget. Thank you School of Rock for everything I am now, I will never forget you.

I had my daughter join the performance group. She had additional 1:1 instruction I specifically requested the 1:1 instruction to be separate from the performance class. Something that would further enhance her already established skills. I don't know if I did not clearly communicate my wishes but my daughter basically learned nothing new in her 1:1 instruction and learned few notes in her performance class. In addition to the occasional inconvenient Sunday performances at breweries. My daughter is 13, are you kidding me. I pulled her after 2 seasons. Total waste of time and money. Don't do it.
