Southern cuisine being dished out by my Asian sister from the South in the Arden area! She whips up some good authentic southern cooking. I even had coworkers and friends from the south I recommended this place to and they stated it's legit southern meals. they all become a regular lol. :) I tried most of the menu and everything is so good! I especially love the fish fry.Do come and try for yourself the best of Saroms Kitchen.One place I will stand beside. But make sure to order early as they close in the later afternoon.

Hey there Party People,Hubby and i were on the road again and landed in Elk Grove for Breakfast. We were lucky to stumble upon this small breakfast joint that was really good. It had this nice family vibe when you came in. The staff was excellent super friendly and quick.I had the Chicken & waffles. The chicken was nice and spicy without burning a hole in your stomach. The waffles had this amazing sweet vanilla flavor you didn't even need syrup.My hubby got the Shrimp Po-Boy sandwich. He enjoyed it but thought the shrimp were tough. The flavor was there but the serving size was a bit small.The biscuits and gravy were stellar. The gravy was a just the right amount of creamy and the biscuits were so soft just perfect. We will definitely go back again there are so many more great looking things to try on the menu.Be kind to one another

I've had Shrimp n Grits, "Pork Chops" n Eggs, Gumbo, Catfish n Eggs. The gumbo is delicious! Good as mine! The Catfish was good. We'll be back, but there are things they can do to make things better. I've only seen the omelets. They scorch the Eggs, making them brown and leathery, not tender and fluffy. Who likes scorched Eggs? Find a cool spot on the griddle or use a pan. So easy to fix. They use cheap cheddar in the "cheesy grits" giving it a sour profile. If they can make gumbo that tasty they could easily improve the grits!They serve pork steak ​​and call it Pork Chops. Pork steak is a very fatty and inexpensive cut from pork shoulder. Chops are a completely different cuts. ​​This is dishonest.When they get busy they can get a little rude not noticing or caring. Bad for business.

I ordered 2 spicy chicken sandwiches. The chicken was smaller than the bun, it was burnt and cooked in old grease. The sweet potato fries were burnt as well. I'm very disappointed with this place and I've ordered from here before. After this time I won't be going back

Super great spot in EG! There honestly aren't a lot of good breakfast options here, so i'm glad I found this spot! Right on Laguna Blvd you will find this gem. Didn't take very long to be seated and the staff were wonderful. Pretty big portions and affordable! The omelette was amazing and originally I received the wrong order, but they fixed it immediately. Do know that depending on what type of chicken cut you get, it's extra. Regardless amazing and will definitely be back!

Sarom's Southern Kitchen the best fried chicken and waffles..A lovely Cambodian family owned restaurant, making mouthwatering southern style food including bbq and dessert! The fried chicken was always served crisp to perfection and never dry, pairing perfectly with the semi-sweet fluffy waffles. This combo of savory chicken and sweet waffles always hits different, especially when I ate breakfast here. Sarom's also offers a house-made carrot cake which is a must try! Service is pretty fast, they also have a good amount of parking outside.

Great food and atmosphere. Service can be hit or miss whenever they get ridiculously busy but not as bad as other restaurants that aren't nearly as busy. Prices have gone up over the years but not by too much. Best to avoid coming in large groups on weekend mornings unless you don't mind waiting.

Very very busy and popular location. Didn't take long to be seated and given the crowd we chose not to be too picky about the seating location. Our orders were taken fairly quickly and the food was brought out in a decent time.,The coffee was the main kick start for me this particular day, being of a drizzle day this initial visit. The food presentation was good and proportions. The service was good throughout the visit.This location does seem to be apart of an older builder.There is a restroom available for all customers. I however would have liked to see a little more cleanliness, as out table location seemed a bit on the unattended side of things. But based on the food and service and atmosphere, you can't go wrong with dinning from here

If you are looking for brunch in Elk Grove, then this is a perfect spot! They made this place feel like home because it has a cozy ambiance and they serve quality comfort food made from scratch. Some of the seats are a little worn down, but that's how you know the restaurant will be good because many people came here to eat. I ordered the Super AM sandwich and it was scrumptious! The beef patty was cooked well done as I requested, and the fries were hot and crispy. The sweet potato fries are a little soggy inside, but still good. I like eating the fries with the runny egg yolk. The fried chicken in the po' boy sandwich and fried chicken breast with waffle was well seasoned and delicious. I want to know how they make their slaw because it's so good! I appreciate our server because they were cool and considerate. We needed more napkins because some of us had to use our hands to eat and get them messy. They came by soon after and put some on the table without us even having to ask them directly.

My husband and I come from Martinez just to have breakfast it is excellent. It beats all other restaurants. Highly recommend it from service to pricing to atmosphere excellent.Mary
