The Club has had some bad leadership, but I think that is ending. It takes a while but sooner or later people get their eyes open about the troublemakers that manage to get elected to the Board of Directors. To be on the Board of Directors it's a three-year term with nine Board members. Every July we have an election and three go out and three come in with always nine directors. As it is right now, you must have a year off in between running again, but there is talk of changing that.

I am a member of the San Joaquin River club and I raised my for boys there. It's a very small rural community and so it is made up of a wide array of individuals. Everyone does their best to try to meet the needs of the members. The entertainment committee holds events throughout the year to make sure everyone knows they're part of a unique community that strives to work together for the good of all. There are some disgruntled members who will speak negatively about the club as a whole but that's not fair to everyone. S.J.R.C is located near a dynamic country School (K-8 & Delta Charter H.S.), just down the street from a fire department, on the San Joaquin River, with three lakes, lots of wildlife! a campground for friends and family to stay when they come to visit, a hall for hosting events with the kitchen area included & a bar on club grounds. It's easy to fall in love with this place

Wow.. the reviews are crazy...lol It's fun reading though. . Im going to try to give a honest review and I have lots of knowledge without any thing pointing to politics, rules or any person in particular. I have family members who are living at the River Club and have lived there for decades in separate homes. I'll start out by saying this used to be a very quaint place... There is a bar and grill and a parking spot for campers and RV's to hook up. There is a cute chapel on the lake and ducks and geese are everywhere. Once a little fishing community, tiny houses were supposed to be fishing cabins and not more than 850 SF.. the land is leased by the government so you can buy a home but you won't own the land. Over the past 40 years since my uncle left his "tiny house" to our family, the place has gone down hill. It used to be a nice almost resort like in the 60/70's for fisherman and people to enjoy. Don't get me wrong, there are some nice homes but there are some run down. Currently there are still car shows and events that go on periodically. Sadly many of my mothers elderly friends who lived there have passed away, but over the years we had a lot of fun times and Family. BBQ's. We used to take our boys there to fish when they were young, We still go there at least once a month and visit and right now as I'm writing this there is a flood warning on the river due to the rain. People my have to evacuate.
