I had found this museum when looking up holiday events around Lodi. They host an annual Festival of Trees, so my review reflects a visit during a special event. It's located in Micke Grove Park, which has a $6 parking fee on the weekends. Not sure about regular admission but Festival of Trees was $15 per person. The grounds have a museum and then severalouter buildings that have old farm equipment and other artifacts of the San Joaquin valley and Delta area. For the holidays, everything was festively decorated and there were food and craft vendors. It was a fun little event that harkened back to a simpler time. Nicely kept grounds and a well run event. Interesting to see and read about the history of the area, as well. Not sure if it's worth going on a non-event day, but if you're interested in the history of the area, then check it out. I had a pleasant afternoon checking out their holiday event.

The interactive gold rush era children section is what dreams are made of for kids. So many things for them to explore and play with, they can really feel like they are back in time. There are dress ups and toy food, Lincoln logs and cooking tools. It's a really great part of the museum where kids are entertained for hours.

Visited this museum on a recent weekend trip to the area. To me, it was very interesting and informative. I learned a lot about wine making, the history of the area, farm equipment, and some of the personalities that helped Stockton and San Joaquin County come about. I recommend this museum highly if any of the about topics are of interest.Enjoy!

WOW, oh wow! This a fabulous place, not just for local history but historical perspective. The displays in the first building to the right, with the bathrooms, are amazing. I love the kids area were they can touch and use, not just look. The agriculture buildings were not open when we were there but the wine/grape building was and it's definitely worth the visit. There is a super huge one in Bakersfield but it got boring, they were all the same thing: just period buildings (of the same period) from locally-famous families. The Stockon one is way better, kudos!

What a wonderful discovery! The husband and I are both California natives and we were both pleasantly surprised by the history that has happened in and around Stockton, California. History that has, literally, changed the world! Trust us, spend the $5 per adult and visit this museum. I would suggest starting in the Erickson building. (Ask for a map at the admission desk). Head off to the right side of the Erickson building to learn about the founder of Stockton, Captain Charles Weber. You will learn about how he had to change his nationality in order to receive his land grant ... after all, this was Mexico at the time! Lots of buildings to check out from here including one that explains the history of the Holt tractor! Do not miss the displays in the Corotopasi-Avansino building as they document the innovations made in agriculture of the 6 main crops that are produced in the valley. For folks who enjoy history as well as old equipment and an introduction to some amazing innovations this museum is one to be sure and visit. We spent about 2 hours here and only left because they were closing. (Open wed-sun from 10:00 to 3:45) You do have to pay an admission fee to Micke Grove Park as well ($5 weekday, $6 weekends and $10 on holiday weekends) but the park is beautiful and worth a visit as well!

This is a great place for toddlers in the summer months when critter country is here. My daughter loooooved the animals and they were so docile and tolerant of her poking and prodding. She was able to hug the llama and sheep and was so excited. The play area in the air conditioned barn was a great respite from the heat. We will be back again!

Terrific museum, nice local zoo, kid's playground, and beautiful picnic grounds. I've been a docent for both the zoo & museum for many years and think it's the one of the best places for the whole family to visit.
