Bomb food. Super fast, and fairly priced too. Staff was very nice, fish tasted fresh, great selection of rolls. Plus Japanese sodas and beers! Lots of different decorations to look at too and pretty quiet, easy to talk at the table.

The service here is excellent, and the staff are genuinely kind and welcoming.When it comes to ambience, I would suggest some thoughtful evaluation. The space feels more like a sports bar than a sushi restaurant, which creates a bit of an identity challenge. If the goal is to lean into being a sports bar, then fully commit to that direction, but tokenizing sushi within that setting may not align with the expectations of sushi enthusiasts.As for the food, the sushi was average. The rice was a bit too warm, which detracted from the authentic room-temperature balance typically expected. While the flavors were fair, the sushi pieces fell apart easily, which affected the overall dining experience.I also tried the ramen, specifically the "Naruto Ramen." For reference, "Naruto Ramen," as seen in the anime, is traditionally Tonkotsu (pork-based), but the version here was beef/chicken-based, which felt a bit misleading. Unfortunately, the broth was overly oily, and the noodles didn't seem fresh. The choice of the bowl also didn't do the dish any favors in presentation. Ramen is a culinary art that thrives on thoughtful preparation and visual appeal, and the execution here felt rushed and lacked attention to detail.Overall, the service is great, but I think there's room for improvement in aligning the identity of the space and elevating the quality of the food to match the care and effort that the staff clearly put into customer service.

What an adorable place in the shopping center, it looks closed from the outside but that's because the inside is fully decorated with greenery and dimming lights. It really felt like being transported to not quite Japan, but close vibes. It's you're typical American sushi restaurant- I've never been to a sushi restaurant like it.I came here for dinner with my parents first night in town. Fair prices and clean. There is an atentative staff, but I like that they just do their job and leave you to eat in peace. We sat at the sushi bar. I got a specialty roll, which was incredible and a basic tuna roll that was fine. The solo bathroom was a bit lacking and it loses a star due to music. It was RNB music videos on repeat with lots of nudity and too loud for a conversation. Not something I am interested in watching with my parents.But overall, I think they will be back as they live in town!

This place gets busy. The staff are friendly. The food is okay. We had the dragon roll which was good and the spicy tuna roll this one was plain no toppings. I have never had a spicy tuna roll like that. We also ordered the udon noodles which was so hot you couldn't eat it. We packed it and it was still hot 30 minutes later. Overall it was an okay place.

I loved this place when it was owned by the original owners. It was bought by new people and it had its bumps and bruises. I was not a fan of their customer service or their food. I don't know if it was sold again or they upped their game BUT it was delicious! I will definetly come back! I'm glad I gave them another try

I have lived in Turlock for years and never been here I'm sad to say. Popped in today while the car was being serviced nearby. It's a cozy well decorated place, I was greeted as soon as I walked in by a server and the gentleman making sushi. I ordered a simple California roll and a Dancing Lion roll. Both rolls were not only beautifully presented, but quite delicious! I've found my new favorite spot and I can't wait to try more! Go... you won't be disappointed!

My husband and I have become pretty picky about our sushi since moving back from the Bay Area and Samurai sushi is the only spot in Turlock that matches up to at quality without going to Modesto. Ambiance: we love the intimate size of the restaurant as well as the authentic decor. Service: service is always great and they are quick with takeout orders. Food and Bev: the rolls are unique and the quality has always been on point. We also appreciate their unique selection of sake and Japanese beers. Our favorite rolls so far: - Mama Kim- spicy tuna or salmon- all the California roll variations
