Sacramento Yacht Club

Sacramento's best yacht club out of the two that are here in the area. This is a 501c3 volunteer not for profit organization and as such members are asked to volunteer to support the club in many ways which may include maintaining the buildings, docks and grounds; making improvements to the aforementioned areas; cooking in the kitchen; being kitchen lead; maybe bartender at the club's full service bar. In addition to the above, there are many great cruises, events and meetings throughout the year. Plus there is a full service bar that is open year round on Fridays for happy hour. The club is kid friendly and is inclusive of all religions, politics, races and genders. Furthermore, Drug use (which includes pot) is not openly tolerated and can be grounds for discipline or dismissal. I would whole heartedly recommend this place if you're a boater in the area. The reason why I am not giving the club 5 stars as a member is because I recently inadvertently ran afoul of one of the clubs cliques. Some ugly, untrue and hurtful things were said about me and to me.

Fun people, great atmosphere, happy to be a member. Whoever said they were racist is absolutely wrong as both my wife and I are mixed African Americans and have never experienced any prejudice whatsoever! Looking forward to many years of fun and pleasure! Boat On!

It's unfortunate that there was such a negative post, we have been members since 2013 and every one has always been very gracious and giving.It's to bad one person has to write a negative comment and ruin it for people.In any club or organization there can always be a person that rubs you the wrong way, to bad they let it get to them.This is a volunteer club and without members participating and giving there time to make it cost effective for all.To bad the negative comments were posted, completely unfortunate.
