Elizabeth and her team were good. We hired them for our wedding, we were able to do tasting in which we were very happy with the food. The appetizers during our cocktail hour were phenomenal and there was not a long line at the bar at all, which we were very pleased with. Elizabeth and her team made sure my wife and I were taken care of at all times during our wedding as well.Overall, the food and execution on the day of the wedding was great. Ribeye and the chicken were cooked to perfection. Majority of my family is in the industry and had nothing, but good things to say about the food. A few things that fell short: My credit card was charged without my authorization for the last payment. During one of our meetings I asked what the contingency plan was in case we were to run our of tequila for our signature cocktails in which we were assured that it would not happen. We even told them that most of our guests would favor the margarita over the Old Fashioned. Well come the day of wedding, were told by a few guests the bar had run out of tequila shortly after dinner. Communication was difficult most of the time as we would not get responses back for days and sometimes weeks on end or would require follow up emails, which added to the overall stress of planning a wedding. Overall, food was good and everyone was fed and had enough to drink.

SCC catered our June 2022 wedding and we highly recommend them! We were interested when we read up online but once we had our tasting- we knew without a doubt that we wanted to hire them! Not only do they use quality, local, organic, and homemade ingredients- but everything they make tastes freaking amazing. Their boutique-style dishes and set-ups are absolutely magazine-worthy. Their portions are also great compared to some other catering companies. We weren't short on anything. Everyone at our wedding loved the food. My mom was especially impressed with their professionalism- they wear uniforms, have beautiful serving stations, and are super knowledgeable and friendly. Liz was so tentative to us at our sweetheart table- she checked in on us, brought us tea during our speeches so we wouldn't have to get up. She also went out of her way to help out with our coffee station which was so thoughtful. Also, the crew was super nice and made awesome drinks all night that all the guests loved. We only have one critique for SCC. When we went to our first tasting, some of the items we had pre-picked were missing. Because of that, we had to plan a second tasting for about a month or so later. They were kind enough not to charge us since it was their mistake. Unfortunately, for the second tasting, they still had some things missing! That was a bit frustrating but Liz assured us that everything would be written out and confirmed for wedding day, which it was! Looking back I think we had ordered bread and butter but I don't believe that was out on the wedding night. Those were the little things-however, we believe its just because they were a newer company and still figuring out some logistics, etc. All in all, SCC was so accommodating to our needs for our menu and we loved our wedding food. They are a wonderful catering company that we would hire again- and you should definitely consider hiring them for your events! Thanks SCC!

A flawless performance. SCC provided catering for my 50th birthday, and everyone raved about the quality of the food, the fabulous bartending, and the outstanding servers. Everything about the experience was top-notch. I would look forward to any event that works with this business.

Amazing team that did everything and more for our company holiday party. The food was amazing! Cooked perfectly and they were super friendly to work with. Keeping the food hot and fresh for a party over 100 people can be difficult but Sacramento Catering Collective pulled it off. We will definitely work with them again.Meritage Homes

Most amazing farm to table food, excellent service and overall the most enjoyable catering/chef/menu design company I have ever worked with! We used SCC for two events this summer! The events were from 80 to 40 guests! At each event Elizabeth and chef designed a local farm to table menu that fit our different themes ( carnival baby shower and bridgerton bridal shower)! From the first day we spoke to the tasting, to execution of the pre event, event and post event were flawless! Everyone at our events raved about the food and service! We have pretty particular tastes and like upscale dining and Sacramento collective delivered!!! Their mobile kitchen is the best thing to every happen to event planning and for people that love fresh hot local and aesthetically pleasing! Make setup a breeze! Their bartender and servers were personable and worked very hard at each event! They were a joy to have there! I can't rave about SCC enough! I was enjoying the events so much I forgot to take pictures of all their amazing food stations (sliders, tuna tartar, tacos, caviar tea sandwiches etc) They will be our go to private caterer or event catering for all future events!

In our early days of wedding planning, my now husband and I agreed primarily on one aspect - food. One of the most significant aspects of a memorable wedding experience is sharing a meal together with loved ones. Including Sacramento Catering Collective to be a part of that intimacy is a decision that we wholeheartedly stand by.As an Asian American bride, the internal struggle of not having a traditional Vietnamese/Chinese 10 course banquet plagued me, but early conversations with point of contact, Elizabeth, ensured me we made the right decision. Our needs were met with such professionalism and patience. As a healthcare provider, cancellation for the safety of all was always on our mind. Our 175+ guest list became 75. My 2am emails, requests, and check-ins were frequent, but Elizabeth made sure my concerns were put at ease with timely responses and willingness to accommodate. On the day, Sacramento Catering collective provided us with a lovely 4 course plated dinner service. Scallops, beef filet, lobster, and individualized mini guest cakes - all excellent choices. I inhaled a perfect beef filet in approximately 2 minutes. I heard the hand pulled pasta with lobster was truly a hit. And I can't say enough about the Swiss meringue frosting from their baker, Devon. The attention to detail through refined plating/presentation and stellar service from servers/bartender did not go unnoticed. It was all so thoroughly enjoyable.Like all weddings, there were mild mishaps, but mostly due to my own miscommunications & misunderstandings. For future couples, I suggest ample discussion between caterer/planner/couple in regards to: dinnerware rentals, alcohol/garnish/mixer needs for drinks, beverage stations, and logistics of guest meal selection. I think all parties would benefit from a checklist to ensure all is well. It's important to emphasize that wedding planning in a pandemic was a privilege and extending patience and kindness to our vendors should be a priority. We are so grateful for all the efforts of Sacramento Catering Collective in the chaos of Covid-19. Having a mask wearing and vaccinated team with similar values was much appreciated. There is no doubt that Sacramento Catering Collective will continue to flourish.

I have a very mixed review for the Sacramento Catering Collective in their efforts to cater our wedding. We originally booked them in 2019 for a really affordable price as I believe we were one of their first few clients as a business. They were very very flexible with us having to reschedule our date 3 times due to COVID and us reducing our guest list from 120 to 85, for that I am forever grateful. Additionally, as I am a vegan and my husband eats meat it was really hard to find a caterer who does both well but their food is well above the average standard for wedding catering. However, despite their great food quality, the administration and execution side of their business is severely lacking. While their communication was amazing when we first hired them it regressed to taking several days and sometimes weeks to get responses to emails with questions about our wedding. We reached a very low point when they canceled our second tasting 4 hours before it started after we scheduled it 5 weeks prior. It was very difficult to schedule the next tasting two months before the wedding since we live 3 hours away.At that point we were at our wits end so we wrote an email stating that the way we communicated had to change. It took them several days to respond but finally she said they would fix their communication, gave us an updated email address (because apparently they changed it and never informed us so we were emailing them on an old email) and that helped a lot for the future. The day of the wedding the food was great. The actual execution on the day of was not so great. They did not bring their mobile kitchen as we had agreed upon. They changed their story twice about why they didn't bring it which was weird. That being said they therefore had no where to cook the food and had to go back to Sacramento to cook it. This was very chaotic because again they didn't communicate well and at one point all of them left and our day of coordinator thought they had quit. This was all kind of laid on my husband and my father as they were there at the time and my dad even got to the point where he was about to drive out to find a restaurant to cater one hour before it started. Thankfully they came back and said they figured it out but wow was that stressful.Because they did not bring their mobile kitchen, they did not have that area to prep and therefore decided to take over the sole indoor space in the venue which was supposed to be a lounge space for older guests to be in AC during the cocktail hour. This meant you had to literally walk around them prepping food on tables to go to the bathroom. It both didn't make sense logistically and was not what we had agreed to.It became evident throughout the wedding that despite the 4 servers we were promised just a few days before, we got about 2 (3 including Elizabeth since it seems she counts herself as a server although she was not serving a majority of the dinner). This caused the dinner to take two hours instead of the 1 hour we had agreed to which caused us to have to extend the videographer contract. People got really restless, even started throwing paper airplanes and wandering around because it was so long between courses. The servers were not briefed on the colors of the place cards corresponding to the meal choice so they just started wandering around with food in their hands asking everyone which they wanted.Since they had server issues they did not pour water or wine during dinner. Our DOC eventually started just bringing us water herself because, as it was over 100 degrees, we were dying of thirst. While they were passing out a group shot to the whole wedding, Elizabeth had a tray of maybe 50 shots when the tray slipped and she poured about 50 shots of brandy on me, my dress, a rented couch. Mistakes happen, but my main point of concern was that she didn't really say sorry or anything and pretty much acted like it never happened, even later in the night when she said goodbye which isn't the way to go about it if you pour a tray of liquor on the bride.Lastly, they didn't cut and serve our wedding cake. They said they thought it was just a decorative cake but in all of our conversations previous to that, that was not the case. We therefore had literally the entire wedding cake leftover and were sad that it went to waste.I don't know if it's because we paid 2019 rate which are half the rates now, or if it was because it was so hot, but it seemed they deprioritized us throughout the process, cut corners, and didn't want to be there on the day of.Overall, I wouldn't hire them again to do my wedding knowing this. I hope others take this review as a point of caution and that Elizabeth takes this as a recommendation to get another staff member to take on the management of the company before the administrative side takes down what could have been a great business. Either way, I wish them all the success in the world.

Owners, Elizabeth and Bud are personable and humble. Their business model is centered around serving high-quality, fresh and locally sourced food in their catering. They prefer a plated service over buffet options and believe presentation matters. They treat their staff well with livable wages and our values aligned, so there was no doubt to choose them for our caterers for our July 2021 wedding. Elizabeth, who basically runs the FOH was responsive in scheduling and executing a complimentary tasting for us, which is rare. The food was incredible. Fast forward a few months to the actual event, there were a few hiccups along the way (as every wedding has), but Bud was open and receptive to the feedback, even offering to make it right. There is something about that level of hospitality that does not go unnoticed. If you're looking for event catering or even to host a private dinner at their cafe, I would give them a shot! SCC is a team of passionate people who are learning and growing in their business.

Next level. I am so grateful I tried this caterer. Like I did not know it could be so breezy. You have a forever customer in us, for both personal and company events. It was a delight and a luxury to do an event with California catering collective. My luncheon was so elevated. When we saw our first plates coming out the squeaks of joy were unanimous. Had us feeling extra fancy. These people really love food and I love people and the spirit experience was positively enhanced by the help. And in late-ish notice! thank you all so much! Can't wait for my next event so that I can eat like a goddess. If you're looking for a catering company that doesn't suck and serve cold tartare to your guests an hour late.. ahem. Treat yourself! On time, professional and patient with all my requests. Thank you so much and please tell the chefs thanks again, we are so grateful.Forever customer
