The Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation's gym is nice. I went to play volleyball there once and it had a nice floor and 3 courts (for vball, I believe it turns into 2 for bball) with good nets. At the Sunday night games ($5 for entry) everyone seems to be at least a level B player. Trust me, when dropping bills to play volleyball, having level C players infiltrate the court can sometimes be more frustrating that constipation on a Monday morning! (At the Wackford this happens on occasion.)They also have a kitchen, making it a nice place to rent if you happen to have need for such a facility for your group's events. For nice facilities and a mission to serve the community, this place gets Franksabunched with 5 stars!

I came here to visit May's daughter's soap booth. It was the Fall Craft & Food Fair. She started a business making soap and selling it. They are really cute. The event was held here and I think they do like 3 or 4 of these pop ups a year. The next one will be a Christmas one I believe. We got here later and found a parking spot right up front. They had several food trucks in the lot. We had to stop and get Hawaiian shaved ice. Yum. The gym had several vendors selling their products. We met May inside at her daughter's soap stand. It was nice and they had a lot of people supporting the event.

Great Venue! The building is actually a sports complex, however, it transformed to a multipurpose facility this weekend. The Creative Space and Sacramento Asian Pacific Cultural Village hosted the first ever Asian Pacific CultureFest and we were here to support local small businesses. My daughter actually was one of the 80+ vendors who participated. SASF is a non-profit organization which was founded in 1994. This nice, large, clean facility can accommodate different types of community and sporting events and can hold a lot of people. It is actually a basketball gym and is located in the Laguna West area in Elk Grove (near the Apple Computer facility on Laguna Blvd).Family-friendly place. The venue and the staff were great! There were restrooms in the facility and also an in-house kitchen for other types of events that will need one. Well-kept grounds with plenty of parking. I had a fun time supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses. I didn't have any difficulty finding the place. Review #2576

Love the facility. Very spacious with a lot of parking. Came here for a crab feed that benefited the foundation. Clean and well-organized.

I've seen and past by this place quite a few time over the years but didn't actually visit till recently. This wasn't for a sporting event but instead for the All Day Food and Craft Fair hosted by the Creative Kitchen. Parking was limited but thankfully there is a large lot next door at the Elk Grove Sports Center.Of course parking was limited due to this awesome event that was being hosted at SASF. As others have stated it is a basketball complex but definitely has room for many different events. In this case it was big enough to host this large local neighborhood event. The facility was pretty straightforward and also had restrooms on site. The main floor was the main part of our experience and we didn't have any issues with location. It was nice that they were able to host this event in a large open location especially during the pandemic. Masking was enforced from what I could tell and they were limiting people inside the building.Definitely a good location to host any event that you may have planned!

We came to the gym for an adult birthday party for about 150 people. Half of the gym was blocked off, dividig the hall on the side of the gym where the kitchen area was. About 15 round tables were set up for the guests, along with a refreshment center with drinks and the buffet line paralleling the kitchen. The sound system has recently been upgraded and acoustic quality enhanced which was great as a live band performed. The restrooms were large and clean with showers as befitted a gym. Adequate lighted parking around the gym made for easy and safe access to our cars at evening's end.

The Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation building is actually a basketball complex. However, this evening it was the site of the annual SASF Basketball Tournament dinner and fun bazaar. The basketball tournament was held on both Saturday and Sunday at various gym locations throughout Sacramento. The dinner held on Saturday night.Half of the building which is enormous, was cordoned off with long tables and chairs for dinner and the other half was the fun bazaar with a plethora of kid's games for the youngsters to enjoy along with a "jumping bin".You paid only one price for either the NY Steak dinner or the Chicken Dinner... $5.00!!! Yep, only $5.00... what a bargain!! Tickets had to be purchased in advance or you paid $10 at the door. I had the NY Steak dinner and it was great! Since the food was served buffet style, the steak was still hot when I got mine. Rice and corn and a small salad were added to compliment the entree. This was my first time attending this function and I definitely wil return. Throughout the year, there are various functions and benefits held here and all of the food is prepared in the large kitchen. Great job as usual I must say!!

A perfect place to host a basketball or volleyball tournament. It's also a great place to rent out for parties or other events. It is a beautiful gymnasium with full kitchen and audio visual equipment. I was here for a retreat called Strive for Strength. This year we had speakers Lisa and Laura Ling. It was very successful. We also have rented this facility out for birthday parties, basketball tournaments, crab feeds, graduation parties, weddings, etc... This coming year they are going to have an actual talent show at this venue which the stage will come in very handy. The staff and board members are very nice people.

They don't respond to email inquires regarding events at their facility, in particular, the crab feed event. My husband and I ended up not going because we couldn't find price or how to purchase tickets.

Sacramento and surrounding areas are so lucky to have SASF. Currently, only the first of two phases are done (which consists of the gym, stage, kitchen, and office). The second stage should begin soon holding other rooms such as a library. The first phase is the main phase and it is extremely useful. It's main purpose is a basketball gym, consisting of two courts (or 1 large court). However, it is also used for volleyball (3 courts with nice nets) and events like crab feeds, spaghetti feeds, dinners, dances, retreats, and performances. The kitchen is new, spacious, and equipped with all necessary utensils to feed a big group. It was built for the community by the community so you are able to rent out the space (or half the space) if you want to hold something here.
