I have trained at Ronin for almost four years, and this is the first time I have ever truly stuck with a regular workout or exercise. This has only been possible because of the instructors who teach the classes, the facility/equipment, and the sense camaraderie that is built between instructors and students. Since day one, the instructors have pushed and supported me. I constantly get advice on my technique, how to apply that technique, ways in which I can be more healthy outside of my training, and just overall holistic support. Most recently I entered in a BJJ tournament, and on the days/weeks leading up to that tournament every instructor gave be constant advice and support. The facility is amazing. There are machines for everything, and tools for all forms of recovery. Everything looks extremely professional, and the entire building is well kept. Before and after training I like to use the machines/tools they have for stretching. I have found these to be extremely beneficial, and have been able to minimize what I purchase for home because there is so much accessible at the gym. Finally I have to mention further the culture and sense of camaraderie at the gym. EVERY SINGLE person who trains at Ronin (instructors and students) have been so helpful since I first joined. I eventually realized that I have been able to commit to almost four years thus far because of this. There is always this feeling of "if I improve or if they improve, we ALL improve."If you are looking for a gym to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, to work on your self-defense skills, or just a place that will help you on your journey to better health, Ronin Jiu-Jitsu is DEFINITELY the place.

I got into jiu jitsu to learn a new skill. As a 43 year old man I didn't want to join a gym where everyone is trying to kill you and prove their toughness. At Ronin everyone is working together to get better at jiu jitsu. The instructors are knowledgeable, supportive, and helpful. The focus is on the entire person, not just their ability to do jiu jitsu. I have made some good friends here on my journey to get better and highly recommend this gym if you want to do the same.

I heard about Ronin on Groupon to take a women's self defense class. The information on Groupon wasn't updated so I had to call with the provided number. I'm so glad I called! Tara was my instructor and she was very kind and informative. I felt really comfortable with her and definitely felt like I was learning a lot. I would recommend the Women's self defense class to anyone!

I just started training in January of this year and so far these last few months I have learned so much. Ronin has great instructors and awesome guys who attend the classes. If you are just starting your Jiu-Jitsu journey and you live near by, this is the spot for you. Classes are a good size were you get a verity of different body types of people to practice with but classes are small enough as well were you can get that one on one attention with any of the instructors. This school over all is a great place, there aren't any bullies in the class that just like to go there and dominate people and give no benefit to anyone but it's just a place were you can go and hangout with a great set of guys and learn some good Jiu-Jitsu.

I have had the pleasure of training at Ronin BJJ over the years. The head instructor Ernest is very knowledgeable & helpful. He is a Gracie black belt. He has a wrestling background as well. Francisco and the other instructors are great too. Whether you are just starting out in the sport, looking for a new hobby or a serious practitioner, this is a fun place to train martial arts. The gym is large and has a weight room as well. Ronin Jiu Jitsu has quality workout out mats for throws/takedowns and groundwork. The gym is well-maintained and the mats are cleaned regularly. They have both adult & kid's classes and the seminars that I have attended have always been resourceful. I highly recommend training here.

My 10yr old son has been coming here for close to 3yrs. The gym just got an update and looks great! The instructors are great at showing technique and giving individual attention to each kid when needed. Also does a good job of keeping the class focused and not letting kids distract/ horse play and waste too much time but at the end of class on Saturday's let's the younger kids play some fun games. Overall very happy with the class and highly recommend.

I've been on-and-off at Ronin since April 09. When i first started training i felt out of place, but now that I've been going for a while I feel comfortable with everyone here. The classes are taught by one of 3 brown belt instructors, and we have a black belt seminar semi-annually.Technique-wise, the class will include both sport and self-defense techniques. Unlike other Jiu-Jitsu schools, there is practice devoted to standing throws during class, which i find a helpful supplement to my judo training. In terms of demographics, pretty much everyone at this school is male. I have seen one female student twice in class, but that is not the norm. Size-wise most of the guys here are big, although there are a few smaller nimbler guys. For the physical school location, it's difficult to find initially if you don't know what to look for. On the website they have a picture of the school. The actual training area is fairly small. The mat area is large enough to accommodate maybe 14ish people. There ARE bathroom facilities, but it's only one person at a time. The prices are reasonable, nothing out of the ordinary for a brazilian jiu-jitsu school. There is a competition aspect to the school, but it's not shoved down your throat. If you compete, that's great and they'll try to give you extra time to work on your moves. If you don't compete, that's fine too, and they won't hurt you for not competing.
