I came to Rockville Park for the first time Sunday afternoon for a short hike.It has a small parking lot, but, was able to find a spot. There's rough terrain trails with lots of rocks! I didn't cross many hikers. There were many more people on bikes in the trails. Many beautiful views and lots of trees. It was very quiet and very peaceful!I'll come by again for another hike sometime:)

I have been hiking in Rockville most of my life. There is usually parking available and if there is none along the road is also acceptable. There are so many trails and if you use Trail Forks or one of the hiking/ biking apps it helps map them out. There are bathrooms at the top of the main entrance hill. They are built in Porta potties but very clean. Highly recommend this park.

A lot of different branches you can explore. Looks like it's a popular bike trail park. There's a very tiny lake a mile in. It does have a day fee per person and a very small parking lot so a lot of folks park on the road

So peaceful and serene. This is the perfect hike for beginners. Beautiful views and more than enough trails to try something new if you love nature. Great for anytime during the day.

Great place for a quick easy to moderate hike. Spring is a great time as everything is fresh and green. Wildflowers are still in bloom, thanks to the recent rains. Parking lot is very small and fills up fast especially on the weekends or holidays. However, many people park alongside the main road. (Please be careful if you do). The trails themselves aren't super long and for the most part there are several loops you can traverse. After the initial climb at the beginning it levels off with a few slight ups or downs depending on the loop you choose. An easy 1-1.5 hr hike for those that enjoy outdoor adventures, maybe a more moderate hike for those that don't. Bikes are allowed as well as dogs on leash. You do pay a small usage fee and super it's easy to use. (No cash)Overall great place for families.

I love this place. Challenging hike but doable for sure. If I could do this hike days before my delivery date, you can do it by yourself. It's worth it (most pretty in spring)

Quite possibly the most beautiful hike in the North-East Bay!I always recommend visiting at least a few hours before sunset, there's a beautiful lake if you can find it, the grade can be quite steep but the climb is the price you pay for such an enchanting view. It's not far from civilization but you get the feeling that you are one with nature!

Covid update: there are quite a few signs reminding people to keep 6 feet away. Quite a few hikers donned masks so that was cool. Rockville Park is a great local place to get away for a hike, picnic, or mountain bike ride. There are miles of trails and you can find a steepness that suits you. Several picnic tables are around - some having an excellent view. The park is very dry, so bring plenty of water . Also, please pack out your trash. Parking is limited but there's lots of street parking- just don't park on the East side of Rockville where it's posted No Parking.Don't forget to purchase a day pass or season pass from the vendo in the parking lot. Did I mention there are cows?!
