Rivers Resort Rentals

Pinecrest is about as close to heaven on earth for me as anywhere. We stay at cabin three in Strawberry every time we go. It is right on the river with no obstructions other than a few trees for a beautiful view in the summertime leave open the big sliding doors and take in the sounds of the river. We usually call ahead or go on the website to reserve but now I found them on VRBO. The resort has a pool, and the general store is a very short walk to pick up ice and most basic necessities. Many great walks/hikes in the area just up the road you can hike all the way to Pinecrest and the dam.

This place is a gem! My boyfriend and I took our 3 kids and stayed in cabin #10. This was one of the best family vacations we have ever been on. The cabin was very clean, spacious and well stocked. The patio was also large with an outdoor dining area and gas bbq. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The kids room upstairs did get warm but they provided several fans. We brought a couple fans just in case and they did come in handy. The location is PERFECT. The river is a short 2 minute "hike" down. It was calm enough to wade in. Cabin 10 is right by the pool which is perfect for the kids. The lake is only a short drive away. We went to the lake for a few hours but much preferred the river. The hosts are attentive, friendly and laid back. We will likely make this our annual family summer trip spot from now on!

It is a very quiet and peacefu. Enjoyed the stay. Looking forward to returning. Such a great break from the busy life.

Cabin #8, 3 bd. 1 ba. roughly 900-1200 sq. ft. Smack dab in the middle of the property, very quiet, quite rustic but extremely charming and unpretentious. Views of the river (roughly 1000' from our cabin) via the front deck and kitchen. The cabin was equipped with a full kitchen, small entertainment center (TV - cable, VHS/DVD player but no stereo for music). Bedrooms are moderate in size, only one closet (downstairs bedroom, which is where we stayed). The double bed was firm but comfortable. Master bedroom upstairs has a king size bed (slightly lumpy mattress), large dresser and a TV and the 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds and a small dresser. Rates off-season are $140 night (which is pretty good) but this was one of the less expensive, smaller units on the 9 cabin unit property. Rental manager is apparently very sweet (per the owners of cabin 5 - who've owned since 1966, hello!) except she seemed a bit short and unfriendly on the telephone. In person, she seems quiet and almost (a l m o s t) rude. This certainly didn't disrupt our vacation as it was (honestly) one of the best trips ever! Highly recommend just disregard the property managers tone when you call/arrive. =)

I love these cabins, I will choose to stay here again when our family gets together and rents a few of the Pinecrest Lake Resort townhouses right at Pinecrest Lake just a mile away. I prefer the quiet, riverfront setting of the rustic mountain cabins over the more urban feel of the Pinecrest townhouses. I have been coming up to Pinecrest for 40 years, and now I have a new "spot" to further enjoy the family tradition. The Rivers Resort Rentals at Strawberry offer a more genuine get away, and the river is such a perfect feature! The walk up to Pinecrest Lake, or down from the lake to Strawberry is amazing! Strolling along the river through the trees... Heavenly.Cabin 8 is really nice, and the kitchen remodel has a really great range/oven, great granite counters, a large stainless farm-style sink, and awesome ceramic tile that looks like travertine. Very surprising and well-appreciated in such a lovely rustic cabin! The balcony view towards the river is great and all out neighbors were tons of fun. My only complaint, and the reason for the missing fifth star was the bed/bedding. Compared to the rad kitchen remodel, the beds and bedding are soooooo outdated and worn thin. New mattresses and bedding would make this cabin luxe indeed.The biggest reason we made the switch is the pet friendly aspect. We travel with a super well-behaved dog, and this place was a perfect fit.Martha, the owner, was really great and incredibly accommodating from our first contact throughout our trip. What a great surprise and a lovely trip.

The new owners of this resort as of Jan 2020, Tammie and Scott, have done a wonderful job getting it ready for summer, despite COVID limitations. They are experienced summer-camp managers and really put their all into the property and customer service. The pool is great and the grounds are exceptionally clean. They are even setting up a new area by the river for weddings and small events. The river is gorgeous, and you can even fish on the property. The cabin that we stayed in was really nice! Couldn't have been cleaner, was completed remodeled, had high ceilings, an open-plan kitchen, and had no stairs between the car and the cabin. There was a huge deck with a gas grill and charcoal grill. Plenty of seating inside and on the deck for a big family plus guests. They had high-speed internet which is tough for a small mountain community. They had a smart TV so we could either connect with our computers for our own content, or use the Amazon, Hulu, or Netflix account already on the TV. Each cabin is owned by different people, so not sure what the other cabins offer. Some are more updated than others. My husband and I desperately needed a break from the stress of working and dealing with Covid. We're both high-risk, so it was hard finding a weekend getaway that would be safe. This is the best shelter-while-vacationing spot we could ever imagined. They far exceeded our expectations. I just hope it doesn't get so popular that we can't find a booking for the fall. We're already looking forward to going back. There is a grocery store across the street, and at least two restaurants where you can pick-up food. Once Covid concerns die down there will be more restaurants where you can eat in or carry out.

We have been going to these cabins since the Sparrows owned it and it was Sparrows Resort. Our family of twenty occupied three cabins this year. Each cabin suited us well...love the keypad entry. Lara, the new manager, is wonderful!

We stayed here with our family and had 2 cabins for the weekend. It was FANTASTIC. It was our first time taking our 2 toddlers (1.5 and 2.5) to the snow and it was such a great first experience! The cabins were clean and cozy. There was a small convenience store and restaurant at the strawberry Inn that were walking distance and had whatever you could need if you forgot anything. I loved that there was a place on site for our little ones to play and experience the snow without having to load in and out of the car and drive somewhere. We can't wait to come back and try it out in the summer time!

I Give them 5 starts so please enjoy I haven't been here in years sense I was a kid I came back to stay the weekend a few weeks back and this was by far the greatest experience! Cabin 6 was nicely decorated and remodeled. The place was spotless and very accommodating! I'm already looking forward to my next trip! My birthday is in oct and can't wait to go horseback riding. Thank you Tammy for a wonderful last minute stay at cabin #8. We will be back! We had the best time. What a beautiful location. A MUST STAY/SEE.
