Just wanted to give a big shout out to our couch, Oxford. He was so sweet, patient and encouraging to us. We were both first timers, but with Oxford's experience and manner we immediately could tell we were in good hands and would learn the best safety measures and habits.

Been a member for several years now and absolutely love coming here. Still my only complaint is I wish it was closer to San Francisco

The members and RSOs are always extremely friendly. This range has been my go to for zeroing my rifle, but they recently started an archery range near the back which gives me another excuse to visit. Patricia was extremely accommodating and gave us good tips. The archery range itself was surprisingly large considering it was only a trial run. Would love to see it being a permanent archery range, I'd visit more often.

Became an associate member last mo and came to shoot for the first time today (9/7/23) and had a blast. Your membership card will open the main gate for you, just tap it at the keypad. Once open make a left and you will see the parking area. You need to get into the range office to check in and make sure you bring your ear protection with you since the entrance door is right next to the rifle range and it's loud! Once in, speak to whoever is on duty and let him/her know which range area you will be using and how long. We used the pistol area only this time. You get to pick either 7yd, 15yd or 25yd to shoot at and let them know how many hours you plan to use the range. The staff then will assign the stall. Target is provided or you can use your own (no human shape target is allowed). Each time you want to shoot at a different area make sure you check in again with the range office so they can assign you a new stall and a new target will be provided (turn in your old one). Pro tip, don't go tell them you want to move to a new area (say from 7yd to 25yd) during cease-fire, instead going in when they give you the 2min warning before CF so you can switch out the targets during CF to save you from waiting for another session. Also bring some chamber flags for all your firearms that you will be laying outside on the bench, the range office requires you to put one into your firearms during cease-fire. They will provide you with one when you check in for free and each additional is $2 I think. They also have limited calibers of ammo for sale. You can bring guests and it will be $10 an hour and members pay $5 an hour. The range officers were very nice imo. If it's your first time there, let them know and they will help you with any questions you might have. I strongly suggest you to watch a YouTube video on range etiquette so you know all the basics. Overall a great experience shooting here and I will be coming back often.

If you are new to shooting or need a brush-up, and need an instructor, contact Kelly Brown. Kelly is very knowledgeable and most importantly, she is very patient. She starts at the beginning and builds up your skill and confidence. One of my goals was to feel comfortable with a handgun and I think I have achieved that, but still work with Kelly to continue my skills. If you don't own a gun, she will help with that decision. I have gone from a beginner to working with Kelly on more tactical type exercises. Kelly's contact information: Her email : [email protected] phone : (510) 529-9602

Our options in the Bay Area is very small. The public ranges I've been to around the Bay Area are risky and feel unsafe. I understand we all start from somewhere, but safety is important. In contrast, RRGC feels welcoming and very safe even for beginners. Most of the RSO are friendly and very helpful. Often times, they give valuable pointers on shooting fundamentals to help hitting the targets better.I frequent the pistol range. Lanes are available in 7, 15, 25 yds. Each session lasts around 15 mins so for 1 hour you can expect to change your target up to 4 times. I recommend getting target stickers for better visibility at longer distances. They have some for sale at the office. The lanes can be packed at times especially on the weekends. They also have a few rifle range, an action range and skeet/trap range. I haven't personally tried those yet since I'm still pretty new to target shooting. A friend took me as a guest here a few years back to introduce me to shooting handguns. Earlier this year, I've decided to become a member to support this facility as I've become a frequent shooter. I have spread the word and had a couple of friends join as well.

There's limited options for outdoor ranges in the Bay Area. This one is probably my favorite out of the ranges in the Bay Area.

Great club! This place is a hidden gem. I take my kids there to shoot skeet and every time we leave they ask when we can come back. The staff is extremely helpful and very strict about safety. They offer classes if you're new to guns and have a view of the bay which includes a fishing and picnic area.Thank you for RR&G.You're the best!
