During my recent 4-day stay at the Marriott Residence Inn in Walnut Creek, CA, I found the room to be clean and stocked with all the essential amenities. However, there was a significant issue with the shower--it was clogged and would flood after about 10 minutes of use, which was quite inconvenient. On the last day, I decided to stay with family since I had an early flight and wanted to be closer to the airport. While I didn't expect to be exempt from the last night's charge, what surprised me most was the response I received when I mentioned the bathroom issue at checkout. When the gentleman at the front desk (who appeared to be a manager) asked about my stay, I mentioned the shower problem. Instead of addressing my concern, he seemed more focused on reminding me that I'd still be charged for the last night, which came across as dismissive and lacking in customer service skills. It felt like my feedback wasn't valued. On a positive note, the valet team was fantastic--friendly and efficient. As a Platinum Elite member, I expect a certain level of attentiveness, and unfortunately, this experience fell short. In the future, I'll likely make the extra 30-minute drive to stay at the Ritz-Carlton when visiting family. Thank you.

Supervisor was soooooooo incredibly rude and racist. My refrigerator in my room didn't work. They offered me another room but I had already unpacked all of my stuff so it was going to be a huge inconvenience to have to repack all my stuff when all I wanted the refrigerator for was to keep a drink cold tonight for dinner. I asked the supervisor if that was an option and she was soooo incredibly rude and disrespectful for no reason. The drink could not have cost more than $5, so Marriott can't give me a $5 drink to compensate me for the inconvenience of my refrigerator not working? The hotel room is okay but surely there are hotels with nice rooms and much better customer service.Do not recommend.

If I could give it a negative 100 I would. We watched as Osman the valet driver hit the curb of our new car that we have had for 2 weeks and ruin our new black rims. He walked back inside as we sat there in disbelief. I followed him in and said you just hit the curb with our car! He said sorry I didn't see the curb. I then went to talk to the front office manager Mina who has the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a hotel. I asked for a manager and he said just fill out a claim form. He could care less. I walked back out to the car and my husband to take photos. I then went back in due to the nonchalance of the staff and then asked Mina if we could at least get the valet charge that they make you do reversed? He said sure. Then the valet guy said if no one gets back to us make sure WE follow up. Ridiculous. This is not my fault. So then I send emails with no response. To Mina and the GM Mariam with no response.I called Mina back and asked for the GM's number he said he would not give it to me. I asked for him to at least comp the room or do something he said no. He said he would not help me. Then said have a great day and hung up. Beyond the worst experience I've ever ever had. Everyone at that property needs to take some classes. Driving and customer service.

When you have to call the Marriott help desk to intervene- you know it's a problem property!Like many out of town parents moving students back into dorms, we stay here as the rooms are a good size , have fridges which is helpful when shopping and it's a good location but I will not return !Check in was not particularly friendly and I was grilled multiple times about whether or not I had a car with me - which I did - but as valet parking is $35 per day plus tax and I can park right outside for $8 - it was not parked at the hotel! Then I was asked if I wanted a high floor ( there are 6) I was placed on 3.I set one foot into the first room before backing back out - the scent of smoke and sweat was overwhelming! I immediately went down and was switched - to stumble across the cleaner calling me a liar! Room 2 had a strong food smell, looked directly into other rooms and the hallway offered the scent of weed and randomly multiple elderly people who seemed to be doing rehab after knee surgery along the hallways ! Room 3 was fine. They offer - in theory - housekeeping every other day but give you three, small threadbare towels to last you two days even of you have 4 guests! We like multiple other guests had to go hunt more down at the end of day 2 !The elevators were dirty and our second day a cleaner got in and randomly hit every floor button - pausing to hold the doors open at each level to chat to peers, so zero consideration for guests! Hallways were stuffy with blue painters tape marking the walls! The sofa bed is DISGUSTING with what appeared to be mold on the underside and a threadbare mattress cover that was well beyond its last days!Besides location this is the thing of horror movies and I have made a formal complaint to the Marriott !

PROS: new, rooms brightly lighted, all suite rooms with kitchen, sofa/sitting area, free bfkst with a few hot items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, also yogurt and juices...CONS: bed not that comfy/firm, minimal amenities/no body lotion, poly/cotton mixed towels. The worst is the lack of inexperienced and often combative attitude and service. IE: valets don't greet you, they just stand around chatting with each other, front desk staff is rude and is not able to answer a straightforward question, is condescending with a negative attitude. They "push" valet parking when easy street parking is inexpensive (1.50/hr charged btwn the hrs of 10am-8pm). I agree with the many other reviews of not poor, but BAD customer service. Do not recommend when there is a Marriott literally down the street for three same price. Didn't get an opportunity to take more images--as we just wanted to run from this place.NOTE: the ceiling insulation is so thin, you could hear every step/flush/sneeze/cell phone ring..., so if you need sleep--another reason not to stay here.

We were in town for business and needed an overnight stay. This Residence Inn was in the best location for us, but admittedly we were a bit hesitant due to many of the negative reviews seen here. Thankfully, I'm happy to report that this is actually quite a nice property in a good location! The staff were extremely friendly, greeting guests as they came and went, and the rooms are spacious, well appointed, and very clean. This would easily be a 5-star review if the property had guest self-parking. As others have pointed out, this property, due to its location, doesn't have a large surface lot around their building like with many other Residence Inn properties that offer free guest self-parking. Valet is $35/day at the time of this writing (May 2024), but fear not, you have some cheaper alternatives:- street parking on Pringle Ave is reasonably abundant before 6pm and it's only $1/hour between the hours of 10am-8pm, so you can overnight your vehicle for a fraction of the cost- alternate garages: 500 Ygnacio parking garage is about a 5 min walk from the hotel and FAR cheaper ($18/day)- some streets in the area have no metered parking, like Central Rd, if you don't mind a 5-7 minute walk to the propertyWe'll definitely stay at this property again next time we're in town!

Went down for complimentary breakfast at 6:30. Breakfast served from 6:0 to 9:00 am. I call to make a reservation. I waited on hold from the getgo for about ten minutes. There's no acknowledgement that I'm on hold for the Residence inn and that someone will answer. Just ads for the hotel. Finally a really angry guy comes on. I tell him I need to make a reservation (I'm making for someone else). He asks a couple questions, then says "can I put you on hold for a minute?" I say sure. Ten minutes go by with the same ads I had to sit through at the beginning, then it goes to a recorded message about making reservations on line. You have to literally send someone to the recording on purpose, which this guy did.I call back. This time no one answers. Like a moron, I wait on hold for 40 minutes. I finally realize they have no intention of answering and I hang up. I really want to talk to a manager but can't get one.See my attached picture of my phone. I literally got a physical camera out to take a picture of how long I was on hold - you can see the Walnut Creek Residence inn number there so they can't say I wasn't on hold or that they didn't treat me like a dirtbag. This hotel charges 300 bucks a pop. Apparently they did not want my money. Please, folks, there are tons of hotels in the area. Do not use this place. They clearly have all the business they need. I will contact corporate and complain but I already had major issues with the Renaissance down the street which they also own and they literally couldn't care less. Just a terribly run corporation all around. And here's the thing. They will see this review and shrug their shoulders "oh well." They couldn't care less. I emailed their customer care, I sent a detailed email, I got a 'I'll help you with your account" response (I don't have an account nor did I use the word "account" in any way). They literally did not read it and could not care less. I told them they lost literally thousands of dollars of business, they didn't care. Is this how you run a business that you want repeat customers?I personally will give you numbers of good hotels in the area that are not owned by Marriott. Thank you friends.
