Rafa's Tacos

I used to frequent Rafas almost every day during the pandemic when they were in Empire. Then he moved to McHenry near the Modesto Walmart. I usually ordered the pastor tacos and today I was in the area, stopped by and ordered 3 Pastor Tacos. Came with pickled carrots, delicious grilled onions and a few slices of a radish. The pastor meat is wonderfully seasoned and man, I miss this place so much! Tasted so darn good!Can't recommend this place enough

I had a young lady recommended this food truck to me. I ordered a chicken burrito, and it had good flavor. They gave me three different types of salsa and some chips. The owner was very chill and easy to talk to,and was very friendly.

Ok, this truck was around the corner from the movie theaters- Regal. I said "why not have some tacos before the movies."I got the quesabirria plate and I thought they were good. The tortilla wasn't covered in oil and it had a good ratio of the cheese and meat. I added cilantro and onion to them, but it wasn't complete without the consume. Messy to eat, do make sure to have plenty of napkins. I was left satisfied with fingers of birria smell lolMy bf's super burrito, in his words, was ok. He wasn't a big fan of the chile chipotle they used. I personally didn't like the salsa that came with my plate. Luckily it was on the side but overall, the quesabirria tacos weren't a disappointment.

I'll keep looking. It's good, not great or as some have said "It's the best taco truck in Medesto "...nope. Service was okay, I asked the young lady how much more it would cost for a forth quezabirria taco to be added to the 3 that came with the plate which cost $11.50 or so. $5.00 for the forth taco, maybe...no. The 3 tacos I did eat were okay, not necessarily worth the extra three miles I drove out of my way to get them. My wife's shrimp burrito was a mess. Goopy rice with 4 medium sized shrimp stuffed perfectly in a huge tortilla, I didn't score any points there!They did have a small shade canopy with two tables for getting out of the sun. Nice. The truck itself was clean enough as was the lot it sat on.Overall, it's just okay. Wouldn't go out of my way again to revisit just okay. Last words...still looking for that one truck!

Every other Thursday , I have an appointment that precludes me from making breakfast at home . So I usually order from the Community Hospice cafe, good food reasonable prices , I order on line and send one of my people to pick it up, put this particular morning, I missed the order deadline for breakfast. So I need to run an errand and I thought breakfast burrito! Late enough it was kind of like a brunch meal .. so I stopped into Taco house, in the WalMart plaza on McHenry .. no one greeted me , no one at counter, could hear people in back , but no one responded to my hello so I left , thought now what .. there at the end of the driveway I saw the Orange trailer and the doors were up , so I stopped at Rafa's Taco. Ordered Chorizo breakfast burrito. I was very happy with the burrito, great flavor , displayed some knife skills with that chop on the filling , noticed another review used word minced , for this particular dish that is best part , sure it probably saves the owner some $ on ingredients, but it was nice to have the chorizo evenly cooked and dispersed in the filling .. got a bag of garnish on side , lime, carrot, radish and two small containers of a green salsa. The salsa lacked a little heat but was ok overall Really enjoyed the food and will return to try other items. Thanks Rafa

Not a fan of the prices. Not to take away from his business but it's pretty expensive for a food truck. Restaurant prices but at least I'd get the free chips and salsa at a restaurant. We ordered the birria tacos and the meat was a little on the skimpy size. Nothing special about the flavor. It was good, but I was just disappointed with the pricing.

Hurry up and wait! My second time ordering and the service is very slow it's one person in the truck and Uber eats being priority over your order. I waited 30 minutes and still waiting. I would have left, but I already paid. This will be my last visit to this location.

BEWARE: Food is undercooked & you can get sick. I used to get tacos from this food truck on McHenry but after ordering lengua and tripa tacos I will never go here again and don't recommend anyone else to. The food was undercooked and the quality and service has only gotten worse. I don't know if the owners hired new cooks that don't know how to cook the food but I was very disappointed with the food and they will not get my business anymore. Such a shame for a food truck that has so much potential.

Ehh it was ok wasn't like bad but wasn't good.id spend my money else where. I was craving the Birria tacos and it just didn't satisfy my craving. It came with the weird sauce like a peanut butter hot sauce didn't match well with the tacos. Tacos were soggy it just wasn't it for me. Hate to say this but this place is a pass or me.

Great customer service.The food and here is always fire! I recommend the hot Cheetos burritos and tacos.
