I never thought I'd look at an image of myself and think it was beautiful. I'm usually really uncomfortable when being photographed, but I felt so comfortable working with Shannon. She was able to help me with poses and caught the best angles. I can't stress the angles enough, she maneuvers the camera until she finds the shot and it makes all the difference. Her experience shines through in the way she manages her projects. I was able to work with Shannon on the Redefining Beauty project. She was able to come into my home, spot the best lighting, and create photogenic spaces that I wouldn't have thought would look good in photos... but somehow she made it happen and my photos came out AMAZING. I love how professional she was throughout the entire planning process. We had consultations prior and I was able to stay in contact afterwards. She even helped with planning the photo shoot concept. Honestly, she does way more than any other photographer I've ever worked with. When you hire Shannon you're not just hiring someone to take pictures, you're getting so much more. I received my edited photos quickly and on a cool online platform I can revisit anytime. The photos are beautifully edited and such a high quality. Shannon and the Preserve Studio team are the BEST! We worked with her for our engagement shoot and wedding photos and absolutely LOVE the results. We've gotten so many compliments on all of our photos and I would 100% recommend them to anyone who's looking for a photographer. When we first reached out to inquire about booking Preserve Studio for our wedding, I had a few goals in mind. 1) I wanted our photos to be unique and fun. 2) Ours was going to be a small wedding with just our immediate families, so we wanted to make sure that we captured all the special moments with them. And 3) We wanted to feel really comfortable with the vendors who would be onsite since the family vibe for the wedding was super important to us. Shannon and Preserve went so far beyond all those needs and we couldn't be happier. The biggest challenge for us was that we were based out of Los Angeles, and Shannon was based closer to our wedding Venue up north, however Shannon was so flexible and we were able to work everything out so that she could shoot our engagement in LA and the wedding up north. She made it so easy to plan! And the photos! There are so many amazing photos to help us remember the day. Every time we share them, we get so many compliments on how special and unique they are. We honestly couldn't be any happier. So far beyond 10. Would highly recommend.

Shannon is truly such a rockstar photographer! We went with Shannon for our engagement & wedding photography and we are so glad that we did - one of the best decisions we made! We fell in LOVE with the romantic and moody style of her photography, and we were so incredibly happy with how our photos turned out. My husband and I aren't the most comfortable in front of a camera, but she made it so easy for us and also made us look so natural in photos :) She perfectly captured all the best moments of our day for us to look back to and we will treasure these for years to come.Shannon also helped with finalizing our wedding day schedule, gave us tips on what we can wear for our engagement shoot, single-handedly wrangled 100+ people for a massive family photo in a matter of minutes, and above all, so fun to be around all whilst being super professional! This review is a bit past due but I wanted to take the time to make sure that I capture exactly how incredible Shannon and her team really are. Our wedding took place at the end of June 2020, which means that even though Shannon and I had sat down and planned out so many of the details - which without her I would have been totally lost - all of those plans quickly came under a mountain of uncertainty as Shelter in Place was ordered in March. Over the next several months, all of our plans were completely uprooted and it was tragic - but you know who was there the entire time telling me it was going to be ok? The ONLY person that was in my court figuring out how we could make this work with the day by day changes and having faith that this wedding would be beautiful?It was Shannon. We didn't even know whether we would be able to get married in the church until 2 weeks beforehand. I told Shannon and she was on it. We had restrictive rules that we had to follow including a limit on the number of people (15) and mask wearing for everyone - but Shannon was determined to make this day so beautiful and memorable for us - even with all the limitations. On the day of, she and her mom took care of the flowers for the wedding - they were stunning. She made me feel like everything was normal. And when we got the photos and videos back (in incredible turnaround time btw), you would have never guessed that we had to change a single thing for the wedding! They were beautiful, and I'm so thankful she captured the day that as she promised me in my darkest moments, would be the most beautiful and happiest day of my life!Thank you Shannon - you aren't just a photographer. You are a wonder worker.

Shannon and her photo/video team are outstanding. From 4-wheel driving up a mountain to get the perfect engagement photos to boudoir and intricate details on our wedding day. This woman and her team can do it all! She ran with every one of my ideas even when they were out there. She is an absolute blessing and an amazing person. I was honored to have her be a part of my day that I dreamed of since I was a child. I will be using her and her team for every milestone in my life. I now consider them friends and they will have a special place in my heart forever!

Shannon was great from the first conversation with her. From the start, we told her what we were looking for - artsy, different angles, emotion, story telling - not just the same cookie-cutter wedding photos. We wanted someone who we could trust to tell us what to do and how to pose so that our vision would be carried out. Shannon did just that! Our engagement shoot was the perfect opportunity to familiarize ourselves with Shannon and get comfortable in front of the camera. In keeping with our wedding theme, she recommended Lodi Lake which resulted in beautiful, outdoor photos. I let Shannon take control of the shoot, and even sent her pictures prior to the shoot of possible wardrobe outfits, which she provided feedback of what she thought would look best! For our wedding day, we used her experience to put together our entire wedding schedule of events. I don't know how she did it, but she got so many shots and different angles throughout the day! Her assistant, Ben, was awesome as well! Our family and friends cannot stop commenting about how perfect our pictures are! Just yesterday, my coworker said our pictures look like they should be in a wedding magazine! While we won't be having another wedding, I hope that we will have the opportunity to work with Shannon again in the future!!

Shannon Rock, the owner of Preserve Studio, is HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHERS IN THE VALLEY! If you check out the photos here, on her website, on Instagram, facebook...the proof is in the pudding--she has a keen eye for details and knows how to organically tell a story through artistry that cannot be taught! There are plenty of people that can take a picture, but not too many can capture the ESSENCE of the moment. Not to worry though... I can hands down assure you that Shannon can and WILL do that for you! Why? Because she is a perfectionist and is dogmatic about getting and doing it RIGHT not only for her customer, but out of respect for her craft! This isn't just a job for her-this is her passion and she loves what she does.As someone who has done 3 different photoshoots with her over the last year and is currently on the books for another within the next few months, I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I've been with the ease of doing shoots with her-crying, uncooperative toddlers and all! I don't know about you guys, but finding a photographer with the patience to let my camera shy three year old cry it out, take a breather, eat apples, color a picture and still manage to persevere is a SAINT lol :). But seriously, Shannon is patient when she needs to be but assertive when it comes to capturing the perfect lighting... producing organic, "unstaged" moments that uniquely make Preserve Studio.While I haven't booked a wedding through Shannon, I have done Christmas family photos (as shown in the gallery), a 3rd birthday party and a bridal styled shoot, which have all been nothing short of professional and fun! I have referred a ton of friends and family who are willing to make the 2 hour drive from the Bay Area to work with her and have her PRESERVE special moments in time for them as well.Is Shannon busy and hard to pin down at times? Yes! Which means she is THAT GOOD. PEOPLE WANT HER! She IS in high demand! So...If you want photos taken fast and produced in a hurry, book someone who has all the time in the world to give you a package in a few weeks with a complimentary teaser just because...there are others who can do that for you... And there is always Picture People-they will be sure to decapitate body parts and produce uncentered photos-but will give you full reign on the editing and same day service! No need for a teaser! If you don't mind waiting for a conglomerate of beauty and thoughtfulness, do yourself and your family justice and wait for Shannon...she won't disappoint!

This review is way overdue but we had waited a while due to legal proceedings that resulted in a judgment against Preserve Studio. Unfortunately, Shannon and Preserve have not yet fulfilled their judgment. Here's what happened:February 2019, we had an engagement photo session planned with Shannon in Lodi. We had left San Jose in the morning to meet her by the agreed upon time. On our drive to Lodi, Shannon text us informing us that she would not be able to take our photos due to meds she had taken. The same morning and prior to this text, however, we had confirmed on time, location, we even talked about outfits, and which colors to wear as the weather was a bit cloudy which would make the pictures turn out better, according to Shannon. The day before the shoot we also had made our second installment payment (we had engaged her for engagement photos and wedding photos). Interestingly, as soon as payment was cleared, Shannon cancelled on us, breaching terms of our contract.Shannon refuses to refund us the $3,700 we had paid her for services that were never rendered. We both engaged lawyers, but as we were coming to a settlement, she ghosted her lawyer as well as us. We took Preserve Studios to court on advice of legal counsel, and we won. However, she has not responded, has moved or changed locations, has not filed her required statement of information with the Secretary of State, and is considered a suspended business. She claimed that she did not have the funds to pay us back. However, she posted about her world travels on social media and continues to do so.We've made attempts to reach out to no avail. She is a complete fraud and not trustworthy whatsoever. She took our money and has traveled all around the country and the world while we got nothing.
