Potliquor helped cater our rehearsal dinner and wedding near Mendocino in August 2023 and they were absolutely incredible. Everything they made was delicious and all our guests raved about it for weeks! We wanted to serve food from a variety of different Asian cuisines and they were extremely open and receptive to our ideas even helping us cook up a Kamayan feast (with suckling pig!). Brittany and her team helped scour multiple bakeries to find the durian cake of our dreams and Chef Richie made the most delicious ramen for our late night snack menu at our wedding. Additionally Brittany has experience working as a pastry chef and went above and beyond helping us transport our fragile wedding cakes for an extremely windy 4 - 5 hour drive up Highway 1. She really put our minds at ease as we knew she could handle / fix any damage on the cakes.

This review is coming embarrassingly late, but the bright side is that I can say that 1.5 years later, our friends and family are STILL talking about the food from our wedding (and we are still dreaming about it). Potliquor is truly a cut above the rest, the creme de la creme. We loved that they are passionate about fair labor practices. Laura and her team took such care in helping us craft the meal to blend our Italian and Californian backgrounds and were very patient with us with all our changes and additions along the way. It's clear how much they love what they do and how incredibly they do it. Each course tasted better than the next and was so beautifully presented. And beyond that, they're a joy to work with. We really can't say enough good things about them. If you love food and it's important to you on your wedding, just book Potliquor. Thank you so much Potliquor (and we're so sorry this review is so late!)

Potliquor catered our wedding at Stable Cafe in August 2021 and I hardly know where to begin in expressing how phenomenal of a job they did. We wanted the dinner to feel like we were throwing a dinner party for our friends and family at a favorite restaurant. And we wanted the food to be delicious and interesting and to generally reflect what's great about eating in Northern California in the summer. We were looking for a caterer that, like a great restaurant, had their own strong culinary vision and that we could trust to create a great meal rooted in their own style and sensibilities. TLDR on this review is that Potliquor is exactly that and so much more: incredible culinary visionaries; incredible cooks; lovely people, and a team that is damn good at the many, difficult, logistical aspects of planning and executing a gorgeous event. We had an initial call with Laura and Jennifer to discuss the budget, food preferences (what do we like to eat? is there anything we'd especially love to have on the menu?), and the venue details. We were really excited while talking to them and knew right away we had found our caterer. We followed up with a frantic list of other foods and themes we had forgotten to tell them we cared about (wild flowers! mushrooms! Jewish roots! Polish roots! biology!); I have no idea how they harnessed these stream of conscious ideas into a menu proposal, but they did and we loved it. The menu felt so personal - thoughtful and creative ideas that reflected our story and tastes. Having a custom menu created for us was easily our favorite part of wedding planning. Then we did a tasting a month before the event which was *also* our favorite part of wedding planning It was SO much fun to meet Laura and Naseem and collectively decide on a few tweaks to the menu, and of course, the food we tasted was delicious.Dinner at our wedding far exceeded our wildly high expectations. Our guests freaked out about it and so did we. We are all, still freaking out about it. Everyone says that you never get a chance to eat at your wedding but that was definitely not the case for us - we ate everything and it was so much fun. In keeping with the dinner party atmosphere, they served family style dishes that guests could share and enjoy together. All of the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Stable Cafe, where we hosted the wedding, has a wood burning fireplace, which Potliquor used to cook a delicious roasted vegetable and fava bean dish - it was impressive and very cool to use the unique cooking setup at the venue. Other highlights included the most delightful selection of breads; a stunning salad of locally sourced or foraged greens and flower; the fried maitake and vegetable appetizer that my mom talks about every single time we've talked on the phone for the last 3 months post-wedding; and definitely the roasted sea bass with red chermoula ---- a beautiful and unique dish and one of the best fish dishes we've had.One other important note is that working with the Potliquor team was straightforward from start to finish - everyone we worked with was so helpful and friendly. I worked most closely with Laura who is completely on top of everything. Especially when things got a bit stressful towards the end of our extremely compressed planning timeline, I so appreciated her quick communication and attention to detail, and found myself trusting her judgement not just on aesthetic and culinary decisions but also about the many practical questions that arose. And the entire food and drink serving staff was delightful at the party. I didn't realize how integral the catering team would be from a planning perspective and feel that we really lucked out that they are so fantastic on the service & logistics end too.The upshot was a MASSIVE success according to everyone. Potliquor is just incredible; the perfect team and we feel beyond lucky that they catered our wedding.

I recently helped a close friend plan her wedding up near Mendocino. When we set out to find a caterer for the wedding we never thought we'd find a team who would be so amazing (and fun) to work with and also just absolutely nail the food. Potliquor's owners (and chefs) Laura and Jennifer and their team are amazing. They were incredibly flexible as we worked through menu options and how to keep costs under control leading up to the wedding. The tastings were an experience in their own - great food in their beautiful kitchen. They were responsive to requests for allergy alterations (not kidding, we asked them to accommodate: dairy free, gluten free, almond free, mustard free, celery free, and vegetarian options)The wedding was in a remote location with pretty minimal facilities. Laura and Jennifer rolled with the situation incredibly well, making due with a single sink, a grill and a gas stove. Their team literally did all of the prep work in a barn. And they did it all with smiles and excitement. One of our guests used to cook at Chez Panisse and she wrote an email after the wedding saying the food was "exceptional". And a number of guests commented that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. We agree wholeheartedly. The food was delicious and also beautifully presented. We could not have imaged a more perfect team to work with. Many thanks to Potliquor and staff for making dinner a highlight of the event!

Jennifer catered my wedding, and I couldn't have asked for anything more! Her food is phenomenal, and her calm demeanor and friendly personality really helped me step back and enjoy being a non-chaotic bride! Jennifer worked with our budget and our wish to host a filling vegetarian meal. After discussion and a delicious tasting, we settled on tomato panzanella, a bean and mushroom medley, fall salad, and ricotta tart. Jennifer also coordinated the rentals, the bar, and the day-of set-up, and her entire staff were personable and couldn't have been nicer. We had 110 people (give or take a few) on the big day, and we served everything family-style, which allowed our guests to really chat and unwind--no buffet tables here! Afterward, everyone raved about how this was the best wedding food ever. If you're looking for a caterer fit for foodies, Jennifer is your gal.

You want a huge campout wedding in the middle of nowhere with meat cooked over a giant fire pit? Jen will do that for you. You want a full dinner for 150 people on a working pier (think: merchant marine ships docked outside) with no kitchen and limited running water? Jen will do that too.How about a Thanksgiving dinner in middle of Death Valley, miles from anything civilized? Jen's on that. You want to wow your East Coast relatives with California style and the freshest, most delicious ingredients? Maybe you also want someone who respects both your budget and whatever crazy dreams you might have had for that special event? A calm, collected crew of people who keep a sense of humor during chaos while making excellent cocktails? Jen will also cater business lunches, do launch parties, and all that other normal stuff. But I don't know who else we would have gone to for our magic wedding on the pier. Jen just catered our wedding and did all that -- besides pleasing even the people who thought they'd starve during a vegetarian meal. Jennifer & Laura own and operate the best catering service in the Bay. They catered our wedding in October 2019, customized an incredible menu that reflected our tastes and cultures and delivered a top-notch professional experience throughout the process. It was the best decision of our wedding and worth every penny. Communication was a dream. The food was incredible. And it was one of the only stress-free parts of planning our wedding. If you want a delicious meal that is lovingly planned and executed, don't think twice about hiring this talented duo.

Jennifer and Laura are INCREDIBLE! They were recommended to us by friends who are real foodies and we feel like we really lucked out that they were available to cater our wedding. They were very generous with their time, going through several rounds of menu ideas, and they truly captured what we were wanting our guests to enjoy. Months after our wedding, our guests are still telling us how much they enjoyed the food at our wedding. Their catering staff were also wonderful- very professional and attentive to our guests. On top of the amazing food they created for our wedding, Laura and Jennifer also very patiently coordinated all of our rentals. They helped us figure out the best seating set-up and were always responsive, professional, and warm. And on top of all that, they also coordinated the bar/drinks, which were perfect. If you want delicious, beautiful, thoughtfully sourced food made by wonderful people, I very highly recomment Potliquor!!

We were one of those people with a huge wedding, outdoors, hours away from the city and an hour away from most civilization. We had 150 people there. The food was perfect. every bite of it. She took input from us about our favorite foods and made the MOST AMAZING appetizers out of them. VERY creative, too, as opposed to your usual wedding fare. We demanded all organic - no problem. The dinner itself - also perfect. Again creative, and eveyone raved about it, from far away relatives with simple tastes to macrobiotic organic SF foodies. This was like a coup. A wedding revolution, to please everyone, all the time. There was BBQ and a weird country kitchen, both handled with aplomb. Her serving crew are people I'd have as guests at the wedding, they were so friendly and so fun.

Jennifer recently catered our wedding in Menodicino, CA. I will just say right off the bat - the food was amazing. I can't count how many of our 75 guests have called to say something along the lines of "that was the best food I have ever had at a wedding." Jennifer is an outstanding cook and creator of deliciousness. That she orchestrated this fabulous meal 150 miles away from SF - in a fairly small kitchen, with a terrific staff who all made the trip from the city for the wedding - is just a testament to her talent and flexibility. But, I really don't want to talk about her food in this review. Let's just leave it at: the food was incredible. What I really want to tell you is about who Jennifer is (and, by extension, who her staff and partners are). Jennifer is the embodiment of community, goodness, love and grace - literally - she is the human expression of those qualities walking the earth. And, she has the capacity to focus those qualities into every corner of her business. The people she hires, the food she creates, the presentation of her dishes, the pace of her service. All of it is imbued with her kindness and grace. By choosing her to provide our wedding meal, not only did we get to experience terrific food, but she and her staff added a layer of connection and community to our wedding that was priceless. They interacted with our guests and became a part of the event itself - which is precisely what we wanted to create with every element of our wedding. I am forever indebted to Jennifer for the delightful and beautiful service she provided us on the best day of our lives.
