Poke Bowl - McHenry

The service was great, and the place was clean. However, the food was just okay. I ordered a medium bowl, which includes three scoops of protein. I chose two scoops of regular salmon and one scoop of spicy tuna. Unfortunately, I didn't like the spicy tuna at all. It had a really off taste, and I couldn't tell if it was spoiled, but I found it unpleasant. I ended up eating only half of my bowl, as the spicy tuna was only on that portion. I'm not wasteful when it comes to food, but I wasted half of my bowl because it was that bad, sorry to say. For toppings, I selected imitation crab, edamame, and house sauce, which was tasty. It was garnished with furikake, ginger, toasted sesame seeds, masago, and spicy mayo, all of which were delicious. I would consider going back if I'm in the area and craving poke, but I will definitely avoid the spicy tuna in the future.

Poke Bowl is our go-to poke spot in the Central Valley, specifically the location on McHenry. They don't skimp on the protein, which WE LOVE! Fish usually tastes fresh, and we love the staff. Great poke spot!

This was my go to spot when craving for poke in the Central Valley. Not authentic as the kine you get from Hawaii, but close enough. The price is a lot cheaper for the amount you get, and it's pretty massive, so if you want a large, come hungry! The spicy tuna with regular sushi rice or even the green tea rice was my absolute favorite, and I love how I got to pick my own sides and sauces.

The food here is the best! I love the variety of options available, how filling each bowl is and how yummy the food is. I could eat it every day. Every time I visit this establishment, the owner and staff are always super friendly and happy to serve. It's a must-try.

My sister took me here and i went cuz i thought she said something about Pokémon and i was like damnn i aint even know u was chill like that but this was good too

We decided to come all the way to Modesto to give this place a try. The size of the poke bowlIs what made me give this place 4 stars. But overall I would have rated this location a solid 3 stars. For the price point of a large poke bowl ($15.50) it comes with your choice of bottom but we decided to choose sushi rice with 5 scoops of protein. We ordered 3 large poke bowls with a drink. The fish was fresh and they had multiple protein options. The crab is a topping instead of a protein and you can get an extra scoop for an extra $1.00. My main complaint on this location is that I really wish they would mix your raw proteins in a bowl with your sauces. I really didn't like that some of my fish had no flavor from the sauce. We've been to numerous poke locations that have a bowl to mix your proteins with your mix ins like onion, and cumbers with sauce then they poor it over your bowl. Since it isn't done that way it was a bit bland when just getting the plain fish. It has room for improvement. The location seems a bit older. You can tell this location needs a good cleaning from the inside and outside windows as well. A good face lift would give this location more of a curve appeal.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I came in at a not-too-busy time for a late lunch and nobody was there. Walking in, it was kind of lukewarm, and I was hit by a... smell. It wasn't a bad or a good smell, but it wasn't something I was expecting. Also took a few minutes for someone to walk out and help me. I ended up getting a large salad. The salmon, yellowtail, and spicy scallop were all tasty; I don't see scallop that often in poke places so I was super down. The octopus was alright, it tasted slightly fishy but wasn't too tough. The spicy tuna I couldn't even eat; it was fisher, softer, and more metallic than canned tuna. I also found several lettuce butts in the salad, which just means it was dirty overall. For the price it was a ton of food. I'm just not sure if I'd go back for that food

Meat didn't feel fresh, they didn't have some of my favorite poke bowl toppings but the staff was really nice

Take out lunch. Lots of options, three different sauces. Ahi was very fresh and yummy

Fresh ingredients at a reasonable price, and generous portions. Sushi rice can use more vinegar seasoning though.
